Consumer Complaint: I am trying to have my student loans with Navient deferred for 6 months per the new stimulus package which passed this week. The customer service representative stated the loans were now " Navient Federal '' loans not just federal loans, and therefore only qualify for a 90 day deferral.

Consumer Complaint: Back in late XX/XX/XXXX my mother had a situation which caused her to become XXXX and not able to leave her home. I left my job and moved in with her in order to help her which turned my life upside down. I had a local nonprofit help me gather all documentation ( Fax, Confirmation, Separation letter, Social Security Confirmation Letter, Letter from former employer, etc. ) and fax it to Navient. I received a fax confirmation from the nonprofit for me records, but in XX/XX/XXXX I received a report that my credit score had dropped due to 10 missed payments being added to my credit report. I filed a dispute with the Credit Bureaus and Navient to have the information removed but they verified the late payments as accurate when they lost my paperwork.

Consumer Complaint: For the past few years I have been struggling to pay my private student loans through Navient. I have a monthly payment of around {$670.00} which was based on my previous job as a salaried employee which I set up a few years ago. They refuse to lower my principle monthly payments and will only offer me interest-based only monthly payments which defeats the whole purpose of paying back these loans. I have done this in the past but I believe I was mislead to doing this a few times which has extended my payments. This is in addition to Navient creating difficulties for my repayment by providing misleading information including guiding me into entering loan forbearance in addition to other avenues that led to my crumbling credit score. This does not include the thousands of harassing phone calls that I and my family ( the cosigners ) have received, every day, multiple times a day

Consumer Complaint: I would like to begin this letter by thanking your company for the many years of great service I have experienced as a consumer. I have been a very loyal consumer of yours for many years and I am in need of your assistance. There was a period of time in my life that was very difficult to handle due to some problem. I always tried my best to get every payment to you on time. I had a few lateness education loans which I paid. I paid every thing a have {$0.00} balance. But old lateness still reporting in my credit report, and ruining credit. I am asking you and your company for a goodwill request to remove paid lateness from credit report. Thank you in advance for taking time out of your undoubtedly busy schedule to read over my letter. Consumer Complaint: Navient reported to the Credit Bureau incorrect information. They reported 2 late payments - XXXX and XX/XX/2018 creating a " 90 day past due '' when in fact both payments were electronically made. I have reported to both Navient and the Credit Bureau several times and still remains unresolved. This affected my credit score significantly, bringing it from high 780 's score to low 600 's ( from Very Good to Fair credit ). Totally unfair to say the least.

Consumer Complaint: I have a federal student loan and there is supposed to be a zero percent interest rate effective XX/XX/XXXX. However, my monthly payment on their website is still reflecting an interest rate factored into the principal. I have been holding off on making the full monthly payment waiting on Navient to reflect the correct amount. I am relying on this zero percent interest because my income went down due to COVID-19. The lack of their compliance with the new federal regulation will set me up for default.

Consumer Complaint: I have FFELP loans serviced by Navient and owned by Navient Federal Loan trust. It is my understanding that these are federal loans, but I was told by Navient on XX/XX/2020 that I did not qualify for the interest waiver due to COVID because they are not owned by the Ed Dept. All of the news articles say " all federal loans '', and I had no idea mine were not education dept loans until now. It says on Navients website that all federal loan interest rates are set by Congress but mine are still showing 3-7 %. I don't know who to reach out to. Both my husband and I have huge student loan balances due to our medical backgrounds and both of us have had our hours cut in half due to the virus.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I was enrolled at a state university, where I became an on and off student for a number of years. I was not ready for college, and so, I was not able to complete my XXXX XXXX XXXX. When I stopped attending classes, my federal and private loans were consolidated ( about $ 40k ) and have been transferred to several companies throughout the years. They are now with Navient. In XX/XX/XXXX, I returned to school and have been in school since. As of this time, I was able to pay back some of my loans and owed about $ 15k. In early XXXX, I reached out to Navient to defer my student loans because of my in-school status and my low income. They said that all of my loans would automatically be deferred once they received information from my FAFSA. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I am still in repayment for my private loans. When I called Navient today to find out why money was still automatically debited from my account, the representative confirmed that only my federal loans was deferred. When I asked why only some accounts were deferred and not all, she could not provide a straight answer. Because of the Covid-19 situation, they were able to put a 90-day hold due to natural disasters. I am currently working to refinance my loans with a more reputable company.
