Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I took out a private student loan with Sallie Mae In XXXX of XXXX for {$6400.00}, and another loan for {$1500.00}. In XXXX I was struggling to make payments, I fell behind. The loan for {$6400.00}, went up by {$9200.00} due to forbearance and capitalize interest charged. The amount of payments that I missed on my second loan was {$1200.00}. Both loan was charged off to XXXX XXXX. When the loan was charged off to XXXX XXXX, the representative at XXXX offered me to apply for a Income driven plan. I was on a payment plan for both loans, I paid off the {$1500.00} dollar loan on the payment plan and I was making the payments for the {$6400.00} loan. I later found out that the Income driven plan only applied to Federal Loans. While, I was making the payments with XXXX XXXX, Sallie Mae record missed payment each month and also charged the account for late fees. The account was sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, for the past 3 years I am making a monthly payment that is deducted from my account the last day of each month. Navient who is now the owner of the loan listed my account as missed payments, past due, add missed payments fee and interest charged. Even though I am in agreement with XXXX for a monthly payment that is deducted from my account. In XXXX of XXXX Navient recorded a charged off amount of {$5300.00} which is the amount of the missed payments that was charged every month on their end. When I called XXXX about this issued they told me to call Navient. Navient response is for me to write a letter to their credit escalation team, I did, I never received a reply. My account need to be adjust, I was paying the monthly payments each month thru XXXX and Navient recorded that I was not making any payments. I would love for this issue to be resolved. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I negotiated a pay-off with Navient regarding a private school loan. The pay-off was in the amount of approximately {$12000.00}, with one payment scheduled in XXXX for {$9000.00} and the other {$3300.00} in XXXX. When the agreement was made, I was in the process of buying a home and the closing date was cancelled. Closing has been delayed and I was advised to not make a large payment of {$9000.00} prior to closing. As a result, I contacted Navient PRIOR to the scheduled payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX of 2020 ) in order to renegotiate. Navient was unwilling to renegotiate the pay-off and informed me that any funds received that is less than the original pay-off amount would go towards the full balance, which was approximately {$33000.00}. On that call, the manager XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX ) told me he would contact me on XX/XX/XXXX with an amenable compromise. He never called and therefore, on XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Navient and spoke to a new agent who read all the notes in my account and agreed to a new payment arrangement towards the full balance ( {$33000.00} ). Navient scheduled a $ XXXX agreement. The previous manager decided to cancel the agreement with no warning or justification. He and his employees called my phone incessantly as well as sent threatening emails and voicemails to renegotiate or warned that it would influence my homebuying process. I responded to an email requesting to cease and desist all contact and they continued to harass me and contact my employer.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: Ever since I started paying off my student loan, I haven't stopped making payments as its been set to auto deduct on a monthly basis. However, Navient has claimed whenever I try to change or signup for better payment plans like IBR, it has caused my student loan payment benefits to be cancelled when its a flaw with the their system. I've only taken loans for two schools and the benefits were originally all the same until I needed to adjust payment plans from day one. Benefits : Auto Debit Benefits Interest Rate Reduction The most troublesome of all the issues are because the loan lender keeps selling my loans to different lenders as well. So the terms existing with the prior loan lender could never be revisited easily because the information gets archived. Example : I graduated college a semester late. The loan lender and the school never followed up with each other to confirm that I was still in school an extra semester. XXXX who was originally the loan lender charged me a {$500.00} insurance penalty with it was an administrative error between them and the school. I had followed up with the school but XXXX never refunded me the penalty. By the time, I was able to revisit the issue, they had transferred my loans to XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX Navient pursued me to refinance my current loans with them in order to receive better loan services. They stated that this would not effect my ability to ask for the public service loan forgiveness program. As the years passed I inquired about how many payments have qualified for this program and began working with the XXXX XXXX XXXX agency as of XX/XX/XXXX. The XXXX XXXX XXXX agency stated that none of my payments would qualify before XX/XX/XXXX due to Navient putting me in the wrong repayment program. I have thirteen years of public services and had over 120 payments but due to Navient 's lack of ethic they placed me in the wrong program and now I do not benefit from the payments I made. I am asking for the payments before XXXX to be counted in my total of 120 payments to attempt to qualify for the public loan forgiveness program which I have already been accepted due to my job and service. I am just wanting the payments to qualify that i have already made.

Consumer Complaint: I have been seeking instructions to pay from an overseas bank account for months. I have moved out of the US and do not have a XXXX XXXX account. I have tried seeking this information by email, by messenger on the Navient website, and by phone. When calling I am told they will look this up and call me back. I get no return call. Over email I get a form message that they can not give me information over email and to call. Over the Navient website messaging I get no answer.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Maam Subject : To look seriously into the harm caused to my life, by this huge student loan, which supposedly meant to help, not harm! When I graduated from XXXX college of XXXX, I didnt know life will become such a mess, even after working exceptionally hard for years, without vacations .My Navient student loan has only increased ( {$140000.00} ), not decreased! the interest keeps adding up. I have worked on Saturdays, even Sundays in my first yr, treated patients sent away by other drs, was paid much lesser than a male colleague, drove in snow storms, tolerated discrimination at workplacebut never stopped working since I graduated, just because I always had the huge burden of student loan. i also accept Medicaid patients all the time, which very few drs accept.i have worked in rural area for yrs now, so poor patients dont have to drive far to nearby cities. I am also head of household, which has made life even harder.Everytime I went to apply for house loan, or business loan, my application was rejected due to this student loan. so, I kept wasting money towards house rent for yrs.and everytime, I had to move, it was expensive, & I had to startover again & again. i also kept working at much much lesser salary, than what I could have made, as a business owner. Since, I could not get a business loan, to startup business in a good location, I invested whatever personal savings I had, into a very small business venture in XXXX. Which didnt workout, due to wrong location of business. Finally, I ended up doing bankruptcy in XXXX, which did include the Navient student loan.but this loan was never discharged? and I am still struggling because of this. this student loan totally ruined me from growing financially, for years now! I dont have any late payments in my credit history, but it was the this huge Navient student loan, that stopped me from progressing towards a better life for myself, and my family.its been very depressing and frustrating journey.it has left me unprepared for retirement, or without any significant savings at this age. So, this loan didnt help me at all.infact, it only ruined me financially, emotionally, and socially. Because, I didnt even own a house till XXXX.This loan is still at {$140000.00}, the interest keeps adding up. I have already struggled my entire golden years, trying to pay it back. I dont know what else to say.what more can I do, or how much more can I suffer? what else Navient wants from me? to me, it a mean organisation, ruining lives of young professionals, who could have achieved much more, and given back so much more. I humbly request you help me get this loan forgiven /writtenoff.i have no other choice. I tried very hard. Thanks XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX
