Consumer Complaint: I graduated in XXXX, with five loans from XXXX. The total amount borrowed when I graduated was {$18000.00}. As of today, after going through a rough patch, relying on deferments on forbearances, I owe {$32000.00}. This is after paying {$4400.00}, so Ive accrued {$18000.00} worth of interest and penalties. Thats almost as much as I borrowed initially. I need this loan to be more manageable. I thought I would eventually qualify for student loan forgiveness based on my public service of working in XXXX for four years and XXXX for three years ; however, based on how the loans are structured, the loan will not be forgiven. There should be some type of cap on the amount student loan servicers can charge for interest and penalties. The amount I've accrued is 95.9 % of the actual loan. Something needs to give because I know I'm not the only one with this heavy burden. Thank you, XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Found that the date until forgiveness is getting dragged out longer and longer. When I called on XXXX the rep said that it was because I went back to school and the payments were deferred it's starts the process over again. Never was I informed that the date of forgiveness would be pushed back 7 years if I went back to school for 2 years. She then tried to talk me into the public loan forgiveness which I have already been rejected from after working in child protective services for 11 years. I didn't have the " right '' loan to qualify, so why would you suggest that option. Because then I would have to consolidate my loans under another plan which starts the 25 years over again until forgiveness. I graduated in XXXX. My loans won't be forgiven until XXXX. 32 years later. 7 years after the 25 year date.

Consumer Complaint: Every year when it comes time for the Income Driven Renewal the federal loans are are renewed correctly. When the FFELP loans are in need of renewal which is at a later date than the federal loans Navient claims new forms need to filed. The link in the Online Account communication for renewal of the Income Driven Repayment for FFELP loans provided by Navient in the online account sends the person to the Federal Student Aid website which already has the information in their data base for the filing of the federal loans which renewed a few months before. Navient claims that this information can not be used and new forms need to filed for FFELP which leaves the consumer in confusion. The link Navient provides in the account directs the consumer to the Student Aid site but Navient claims the information submitted isn't valid and that a new form must be completed. I do not see how Navient is following federal guidelines if they are deciding what information and forms can and can not be submitted when federal guidelines provide them with direction for renewal. I submitted the information to the Federal Student Aid website in XX/XX/XXXX for the XXXX year. The FFELP loan needs the information submitted by XX/XX/XXXX for the 2021 year. Navient refuses to use the information submitted although the Federal Student Aid website states the information submitted is good for one year and needs to renewed at the next renewal date. I called and spoke with a service agent on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX in which I was told new forms had to filed for the FFELP program which the Federal Student Aid website does not state.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I checked my balance principal before starting grad school for my XXXX to make sure I could cover the balance. I also contacted the school I was applying to. When all was cleared I applied and started my degree. In XX/XX/XXXX my unpaid principal and balance was {$90000.00}. Not long after starting school I was informed that Navient had " found '' XXXX dollars in loans and interest. This was tacked onto my total cost and has put me in a situation of financial hardship at the end of my program. Now the school is saying that I have run out of funds for Federal Student Aid- a situation in which I made sure to avoid before starting my PhD. Furthermore, I have contacted Navient on this issue. They have started investigations that have been dropped, told me that I was right over the phone and that these totals in XXXX do not have an origination and are not connected to a school. I have recently sent out another email to Navient asking about the situation and the investigations- and have no response as of yet. This is fraudulent. I know the company has been in some trouble but tacking on loans to student accounts that are not real is illegal. I'm sure I am not the only student that has costs on their account that can not be backed legally. Navient refuses to respond and investigations keep disappearing. I have proof and paperwork and account balances leading up to the change in funds owed.

Consumer Complaint: Navient has placed incorrect information on my credit report. I became XXXX ill a few years ago and can no longer work. I callled Navient to ask if they could help with reducing the amt of my loan payments. They told me there was nothing they could do and no resources available to help me. My grandmother was my co-signer on the account. They continously called her and a few times threatened her. One man that called her from Navient told her he knows where she lives. Another told her since she lives in FL she must have money and needs to pay immediately. A woman from Navient wanted to go over my grandmothers bills with her. My grandmother thought the woman was trying to help her so she started telling her what bills she pd monthly. When she told the woman she pays a lawn service to cut her lawn, the woman scoffed at her and told her she needs to cancel that service and cut the lawn herself and informed my grandmother to use that money to pay Navient. My grandmother is XXXX years old and just lost my grandfather 2 years ago and lives alone. She is physically unable to mow a lawn! After a few years of going back and forth with Navient between my grandmother and myself, Navient offered a settlement. They wanted a payment of {$640.00} and this would close my acct with them and my debt would be paid off with no repercussions. Navient was PD {$640.00}. On XX/XX/2020. They have yet to report this correctly to any of the credit bureaus. I've disputed this acct with all 3 credit bureaus several times each and everytime the information is changes with the acct to more incorrect information. I don't know what to do ... ..I was evicted from the house I was renting because we missed the last few payments on the lease prior to the lease ending. My son and I are stay I with my grandmother ( unlawfully according to her HOA as its a 55+ community ). I'm currently having no luck being approved for a rental, not because of the eviction ( luckily not on my credit, yet ) but because Navient is playing games with my credit report. There has to be something I can do to correct this. My son and I will be living in the car soon if I can not get approved for a home. They offered to settle after

Consumer Complaint: I have been evicted twice and stayed at two homeless shelters since my yearly income tax returns have been taken by the US Department of Education and Pioneer Credit Recovery, and Ascendium. I have lost multiple jobs, and have even been unemployed since XXXX of this year. I am not able to make payments due to severe financial difficulties, but Pioneer Credit Recovery and XXXX have repeatedly refused to help my financial situation. Their abusive collection patterns have forced me into poverty multiple times in the last 4 years since the Department of Education, Pioneer Recovery, and XXXX participated in stealing my tax returns. Now they are sending me threats. I can not pay the balance owed, I can barely afford food to eat and the medicine I am prescribed. I have also been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Consumer Complaint: I live in Wisconsin and filed for Debt Amortization ( chapter 128 ) in XXXX and it was paid in full and Discharged in XX/XX/XXXX. Navient was included in this and they were sent money by the Trustee of my case every quarter. I am now told that they do not recognize the court order and are saying I still owe around {$1800.00}. I am wondering if this is the case that they do not have to recognize it. My attorney and the Trustee think it should be dismissed. Wondering if you can help me. Thank you very much.
