I was not provided my options at the time and was believed I was getting a Federal Student loan. The loan then went into deferment while I went after another degree. I had no idea that the loan would Ballon to over {$20000.00}. The lender will not work with me to get the loan payments affordable and it has been a financial burden for many years now. This is money that has been thrown away for a unless degree and the loan has a high interest rate. I was not able to discharge it in Bankruptcy and the current status is not fair.

Consumer Complaint: I am contacting to possibly receive the best guidance for relief from a Private Student Loan obtained on my behalf, unbeknownst to me, by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Virginia in 2005. During the enrollment process, the language was streamlined to convey obtainment of federal financial aide to cover tuition costs. I was unaware that the loan obtained was gained from a private lender. I now have {$12000.00} in interest being charged for a loan to a school that I ended up finding out had no accreditation, for which none of the credits can be transferred to any accrediting university. I am willing to pay a fair price for the loan since I completed XXXX XXXX at the school, however, I am open to a pathway to loan forgiveness since the process was disguised and the very few credits I obtained are useless. I've attempted to gain contact to the private lender to discuss this matter directly, however, Navient- who has custody of the loan is unwilling or unable to give me this information and doubles down that there is nothing else that can be done. I'd like to issue this complaint against Navient, however, the more direct complaint is to the Private Lender.
