Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: I have had issues with Navient providing me accurate information about my loan balance. I was told the payment plan i was in was eligible for loan forgiveness after 15 years of repayment. Due to financial hardship, i changed my payment plan to an affordable plan. Navient failed to disclose that by changing my plan, my years of repayment would start over. I reviewed my statement and noticed the new loan servicer did not take into account my payments since 2011. I have been making payments for over 10 years, however my balance continues to increase due to capitalized interest and fees. When I graduated my Federal Loan balance was {$45000.00}. My balance has since increased to {$67000.00}. There are fees such as disbursement, interest capitalization, and late fees. Please review statements and payments allocation. Hold Navient accountable!! They have intentionally provided us wrong information for profit.

Consumer Complaint: For months now, Navient has been calling this number looking for XXXX XXXX. I am XXXX XXXX. I do not do business with Navient nor have I ever done any business with Navient. I dont have any loans with Navient nor have I ever had any loans with Navient. I have asked them repeatedly to stop calling this number as they are waking me during my sleep time. I work in law enforcement and I know that their continued harassment of a third party ( which would be myself ) is illegal. Tonight, I called their number back to ask them yet again to stop calling me since I do not do business with them and they was told by the woman that took my call that the calls would continue and that she was forwarding my info on to the account manager and that they could deal with me. She also told me she was discontinuing the call when I told her I would record the call for legal purposes. Theres nothing to deal with, I DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NAVIENT.

Consumer Complaint: 1. I was steered into forbearance when I could not make my student loan payments in 2014 on my Federal loans. I was enrolled in an income based repayment plan. The number was too high given my expenses and I was told that my only option was forbearance. I believe that I was still charged interest. 2. I had issues with the yearly income recertification. There were times that I missed the deadline to recertify. The emails did not include deadlines, or there were no email reminders that I saw, or there was inadequate information in the emails. When I did recertify after realizing that my loan payments jumped up, I often lost months because it took the servicer a long time to approve the recertification.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I am having many issues with my student loan through Navient. First thing is University XXXX XXXX never offered me a federal loan. Instead they had me take out this private loan of over {$6000.00}. Now Navient some how has a federal loan which not sure where it came from but now they are saying it isn't under cares act so my interest is accruing even though they say its federal they are saying they are not under the umbrella for this loan. Even though the federal government is the one that supposably picked this loan servicer which I didn't have any say in this, which should not be my problem. Then Navient put my private loan payment on mt federal loan even though check says private loan. Then navient mislead me and said that I have to do income driven payment even though I don't need to. The federal loan servicer ( IDR ) has me certified if it is a federal loan.
