Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: After being hounded incessantly and continuously even during the pandemic, I agreed to a settlement offer from Navient. I understood this would pay ALL my loans with them and be final. I used my pandemic assistance money and paid them {$2200.00} on XX/XX/2020. I waited for them to say I was finally done with them after more than XXXX years. I learned I wasn't. AFTER I paid the amount to stop the harassments once and for all, I was informed it did NOT pay all the loans... .only XXXX of XXXX DIFFERENT LOANS! My offer letter continuously referred to the loan ( XXXX ) I was paying off in the plural, clearly and purposefully misleading me to believe I was paying all my loans off. Fast forward to today and now Navient has lost a lawsuit requiring them to forgive my debt as part of punishment for this exact kind of gross misrepresentation. They misrepresented themselves back in XX/XX/2020 and I want them to give me back the {$2200.00} they took from me under duress and under false pretenses. According to the terms I received of the lawsuit, payments made during the same period I made mine have to be given back. Please help me reach out to them and get the {$2200.00} back, It was a huge amount for me then and now, without pandemic assistance, is even more important. Thank you! XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: My Loans are all very old and the schools I went to one dissolved, and one I did not attend for greater than a month but I was charged as if I completed the program. These Federal student loans are incorrect and you are forced to repay incorrect information with zero chance to be heard. This caused my family to become homeless because we could not even qualify for a low income rural loan for poor people.

Consumer Complaint: I think the private loans from Navient need to be forgiven. XXXX XXXX is no longer a school and I have an Outrageous amount of student loan debt. I was lied to. I was promised job placement after I graduated and had no help. I am not using the degree I am paying for. I had to have a co signer while attending school on a loan or I couldn't continue so I got someone he signed for 1 loan and ended up with several in his name. I also got married before I graduated and the financial aide personal didn't want to change any paperwork. This school was shady and the loan company was. The school was not accredited and I am unable to further my education. I pretty much have to start all over again. My email address is XXXX.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, they received information that my account was discharged so there should be a XXXX balance. This was confirmed by several of their reps & supervisors. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, they reported on my credit report that I owe {$120000.00}. Prior, nothing was ever reported. I do NOT owe this. My loans have been discharged and according to my letters from the Department of Education, my credit report will be XXXX out once discharged ; not add such a large balance. This reporting has decreased my credit score by XXXX points and added to my credit usage significantly HIGH when it has always been under {$100.00}. This now negatively impacts me trying to get a home loan. The mortgage company just now pulled my credit report which now shows this extreme high debt that I DO NOT OWE and they know that I dont owe it.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Don't agree with the fees charged
Consumer Complaint: Hello, we've paid {$58000.00} on an FFELP loan that originated in 1995 for {$30000.00}. The problem is that we STILL owe {$47000.00}. Only {$11000.00} has gone to principal and we will soon have to start paying $ XXXX+/mo again after having paid our entire adult life on this loan. We were talked into consolidating our loans early on and that disqualified us from programs such as the PSLF and other programs throughout the years. When we were working for XXXX and earning very little money, we were told to take deferments and forbearances. We were young and didn't understand that we should have challenged this and requested income-based repayments. The result has been an avalanche of fees and interest that have followed us our entire lives because we never seem to earn enough to pay the full monthly, amounts, so we keep paying partial payments which creates rolling negative marks on our credit and which also do not pay down our principal. Our loan servicer has been XXXX XXXX ( became Navient ) and we have contacted them several times to request forgiveness for some of the interest/fees that accumulated over the years and they've always refused. We even had someone who was willing to pay off our balance and give us a private loan if we could get the total reduced, but Navient refused.

Consumer Complaint: Naivent to took my rehabbed student loan in approximately 2008. I have paid thousands of dollars over the years and still owe money. When interest payments were suspended for everyone else, navient told me they couldnt because it was a private account. The recent call I made to collections they said I wouldnt be part of the settlement because I was public account. I would really appreciate if someone could explain whats going on. All I know is that through the years they have told me nothing, I dont ever remember even signing anything.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I've had issues with Sallie Mae, which turned in to issues with Navient. There are so many problems, and I'm not sure if I should make multiple complaints or try to cover them in one. A big one is my ruined credit because they applied my payments to the wrong account. I've tried for years to fix this and they will not. They eventually put the money on the right accounts, but never fixed my credit report. I listened to them whenever I had problems making payments due to whatever was happening in my life. I assumed they knew what they were talking about. I was in and out of forbearance for years. Since XXXX College has closed, I have no access to my credits & employers can not verify my degree. This was a total waste of time & money, that I'll be paying for the rest of my life. This has all but ruined my life. I'm trying to buy a car now & will pay outrageous amounts due to my credit. I'll never be able to buy a house. I know I'm not the only person in this situation, but $ 90k in debt with nothing to show for it really hurts.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Whom It May Concern, I attended XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) from XXXX and was promised a high-paying salary to pay off my student loans after I graduated. I was never spoken to about how much I was borrowing, only handed a check at its full loan amount every 60 days. I came out of school with 6 figures in debt expected to be repaid within 6 months of graduation. I currently have over $ XXXX in just federal loans and I was not considered in the Navient forgiveness. My loans have caused me to never be able to buy a house, car or business loans. It has debilitated me to the fullest extent. I have applied for loan forgiveness only to be denied due to the greedy Department of Education heads that have allowed my loans to never be reduced by only paying the interest. I have had zero communication from all parties involved and left out to dry. I can not afford to pay my loans as they were fraudulently given to me without my direct knowledge and lack of experience being a XXXX XXXX XXXX kid at the time. I ask you to please consider XXXX as bad actors as there hundreds of us that have dealt with crushing debt our entire adult lives.

One of the loans are in my name as a primary and I never attend the school. This has caused me 15 years of bad credit scores because the payments are not on time or paid at all. I am not sure where else to go with this but Im hopeful someone will take the time to help me with this

Consumer Complaint: Per the law Student Loans may not be discharged during Bankruptcy. In 2009 my wife XXXX and I filed Chapter XXXX. We had to exclude our student loan from the case. Our loan at the time was with Sallie Mae, then Navient. During the 5 years of our chapter XXXX, our trustee made payments to XXXX. The total was over {$13000.00}, which would equal the 5 years of payments. Per the Waiver, these payments for PSLF will not count because the account states Forbearance/BK. I received my Navient Billing progress. Navient, continued to collect interest on my loan during the entire 5 years of our Chapter XXXX, Navient did not apply any of the payments made to XXXX. As. of today those payments have not been applied, instead, Navient charged fees each month, capitalized interest, charged late fees, applied transfer fees. These payments need to be counted for PSLF because they were made and would give me my 120 payments needed.
