Consumer Complaint: As of XX/XX/XXXX Navient has placed a late payment on my account after being found guilty in court of being negligent. The settlement, announced XXXX XXXX, comes after allegations that Navient used predatory and deceptive lending practices dating back to XXXX. The company was accused of pushing struggling borrowers further into debt by steering them into long-term forbearance programs that actually added more in interest to the overall loan balance ; and for claims that it lent predatory subprime loans to students attending for-profit and low-graduation-rate colleges where it knew these borrowers could likely not repay the loans. Navient repeatedly and deliberately put profits ahead of its borrowersit engaged in deceptive and abusive practices, targeted students who it knew would struggle to pay loans back and placed an unfair burden on people trying to improve their lives through education.

Consumer Complaint: On several occasions I've contacted Navient in order to discuss my account. Each time there seems to be a disconnect or some sort of deception. One instance I 's speak with someone and we will come to an agreement on the solutions to repayment then the next time I speak with someone they act as if they have no idea what I am talking about then it becomes a back and forth debate. I am certain there are notes for representatives to refer to because I used to work in a call center so I am familiar with the practices. On yesterday, XX/XX/2022, I called and spoke with someone and he proceed to quote me false/misleading information and when I told him the information was incorrect that is when he all of a sudden sees what I am talking about. Then when I asked to speak to a supervisor he put me on hold for an extensive amount of time and returned to the call himself. I then complained to him that I asked to speak with a supervisor, she then pops on the call suddenly as if she was listening to our conversation. I asked her had she been listening she then began to get defensive and irate. Then suddenly our call was disconnected with no return call. Very unprofessional. This is not the first time this has happened either. On XX/XX/2022 I received a call from a rep at Navient, he proceed to read off past due balance and account information and when I told him that was incorrect we somehow got disconnected again with no call back. Is this the new practice? I am also writing this complaint because the company does not offer any reasonable repayment options especially since we are in a time that we are recovering from all sorts of financial hardships. Any lower payment options allowed are interest only ( not going towards principle ) and temporary and only approved if put your bank account information for them to auto deduct. Insane!

Consumer Complaint: I graduated in 2004 with a student loan debt of a about {$30000.00}. I have never held a job related to my career and end up paying out of my paycheck every month an amount I could not afford to pay. I called Navient several times to lower my monthly payments but I would have end up making more payments in the end. I have had a deferred payment which allowed me to stop a few payments to only moving those payments to the end of the debt. I would like to get a forgiveness student loan since I have paid for more than 18 years. Thank you in advance

Consumer Complaint: Hi, I am embarrassed to say that I've been paying on my student loans since XXXX. I graduated in XX/XX/XXXX. My husband was in the military and after we settled in our first duty station in XXXX, I received calls to consolidate my loans. This was done with Sallie Mae and later transferred to Navient at 8 %. I had total student loan debt {$25000.00}. I was told to defer payments and when I got a job, I started paying in XXXX. Over the years I was steered into payment plans to lower my payments so I could afford it but never told to apply for income driven payment plan or that it was an option. I was put into income sensitive repayment. I asked if this is the plan to have forgiveness after so many years paying and the Navient rep said it was. For years, I just renewed my income as they needed. A few years ago, I asked how many more years before it is forgiven. It was at that point, I was told I was in the wrong plan for that. I tried to apply for IBR, but at a $ XXXX salary, I didn't qualify. I reviewed all of my past payments, and since XXXX, I have paid Navient a total of {$45000.00}. However, my debt as of today is still more than I originally borrowed. It is at {$34000.00}. I am defeated. I don't know what else to do. Navient steered me so wrong from the beginning and I have paid and paid. I can't see a way out of this debt. I can't afford to pay anymore a month than I already do. Please help! Thanks XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Ok XXXX XXXX XXXX Subject : REQUEST FOR FULL DEBT REMOVAL RE : Navient Acc # XXXX {$190000.00} XX/XX/2022 To Whom It May Concern, I am currently being harassed by Navient. Navient has called me multiple times a day which I understood would happen when I was unable to pay the loans. They then started calling my sister, elderly parents, and mother in law. I spoke to them on XXXX separate occasions and asked that they stop calling family. Two weeks ago I spoke to them and explained my situation again. I explained I have XXXX, XXXX XXXX children, and work XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I am not always able to talk on the phone but will be in contact with them-that they did not need to contact other people. I would always let them know if my contact information changed. Today they called my neighbor who also happens to be my coworker. I have no idea why they would start calling neighbors and coworkers except to embarass and harass me into paying them ( with money I do not have ). I understand there are consequences for not paying a debt and I am willing to take them. I want to work out an agreement with them. However, I do believe I deserve some sort of protection from having my personal business spread around the small town I live in and tarnishing my reputation at work. Can you please help? I am desperate. Navients attempt to validate my claim is vague and insufficient and the documentation that was submitted is vague and lacking competence. Wet ink copies of statements or applications bearing my signature were NOT provided. Proof of a contractual agreement bearing my signature was NOT provided. Navients computer screen printouts submitted are vague, lack competence and are therefore unacceptable. Navients attempt to validate this claim is therefore unsatisfactory. Navients collection attempts violate the FDCPA, FCCPA, FCRA, Libel/Defamation, and Invasion of Privacy of the FCRA. In addition, it is negligence and willful intentional infliction of emotional distress against the Complainant. The following documents submitted outline the unlawful conduct and actions of in their question to damage my credit standing. XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I wish someone would have said this federal student loan forgiveness is not for loans with Navient. This along with me having paid them with court ordered payment plan which I know have been told is not recognized has now made me from being paid off to having a balance of around {$2000.00}. I guess I do not understand how this can be happening. I have paid on the loan since 2001 and still owe them money. Thanks for letting me get this out.

Consumer Complaint: I was misinformed by XXXX XXXX/navient about my options for repayment as well as the removing of my co-signer, it was at this time my co-signer was forced to pay XXXX to be removed as co-signer by threatening to take theyre home. I was also permanently XXXX and on XXXX a bankruptcy judge discharged this debt due to the financial burden this would place on me and my family. I have spoken with navient many times and explained this to them they state that the loans can not be discharged through bankruptcy and continue to harass me through constant letters and reporting this to the credit bureaus thus causing more financial distress to me and my family. I have been deceived by my school as well as XXXX XXXX/navient. After learning of the ongoing lawsuit against navient I truly believe I should be included in the lawsuit against navient. I was never offered an income driven repayment plan I was always pushed for more payment than I could afford so I ended up defaulting and being charged off.
