Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I took out a student loan with Sllie Mae -consolidation in XXXX, This was a federal loan. I was continuously put into forbearance for many years which continued to drive the loan balance up. In XXXX When Navient took over they eventually offered me the income sensitive repayment option. I file a Bankruptcy in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. Each time the student loan would not be forgiven = or reduced. I recently asked Navient for the original loan documents and complete payment history. To my surprise I received some of the documents however, in XXXX a new loan was originated in a former married name. The promissory note supplied does not have my signature it is a typed in signature, To be clear my loan was taken out in XXXX with Sallie Mae I was not married when I took out a student loan. Somehow a new loan was generated in XXXX XXXX-my former married name along with it now being a private loan with a 9 % interest rate. This is fraud. The $ XXXX loan is now $ XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I was call from Navient about my wifes student loans. I have nothing to do with her loans. Im not on their information at all and they called me asking about my wife. I feel violated that they called me instead of trying to reach my wife. Its so disrespectful and violated. I was angry about the whole thing because a line was crossed.

Consumer Complaint: My loans were fully paid back in XX/XX/2013 per confirming with IRS and tax records as well as verifying through the Navient record portal however this company is committing fraud by reopening my same loans which were already paid by TAX GARNISHMENT and attempting to put me in more debt I've asked several times to confirm why i would owe the same debt again for which was already paid and they can not I believe they are scamming me and selling my paid off information to other parties in order to keep me in debt I've seen them being taking to court per other states outside of Texas and i know for fake this cant be right or legal what they are doing to me i have proof of paid services and no reason or valid explanation from Navient as to why they reopened my loans.

Consumer Complaint: I have a student loan with Navient and I have a cosigner. I was put on a payment reduction plan since XXXX to qualify for a lower payment. I was notified by my cosigner that she has been receiving calls regarding the account being past due not informed that there was a payment program in place. I was not told at the beginning of the program that collection practices would still be in effect. I find it suspicious that she was not told of the program-if she is equally responsible, she should be equally aware of what's happening to the account.

Consumer Complaint: The account is not being reported correctly on my credit report. The account number, date opened, payment terms, date last reported, date of last activity, date of last payment, and payment history are different across both credit bureaus. I have written the credit bureaus in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and the beginning of XX/XX/2022 requesting the account be reported correctly on my credit report or deleted. I have not received a response from the credit bureaus. Isn't it true legislation passed during the pandemic requires Navient to remove all late payments from my credit report?

Consumer Complaint: About 6 years ago an old private student loan, for a vocational school, I had through Navient ( originally XXXX XXXX ) disappeared from my online account with them. I was told by customer service at Navient it was discharged after sending them documents to prove my father, one of the names on loan, had passed away. Navient hasnt attempted to contact me in any way since then, potentially because I filled for bankruptcy since then. To this day I have no record of a loan in my name on their website but on XX/XX/XXXX my credit report got hit with a 60 day late payment from Navient on a loan of {$7400.00}. Ive reached out to them by phone several times, sent documentation of the mark on my credit and can not get an answer from anyone there about this problem or even if the loan exists still. In fact Ive been hung up on virtually every time I call wasting hours of my time. Im unsure what to do about this. Ive been a student working to get my XXXX degree for the last 5 years and had no way of knowing if this debt wasnt discharged like I was told years ago.

Consumer Complaint: Navient is the servicer to loans purportedly co-signed by my XXXX mother. I have delivered all required documents to gain access to the disclosures and loan documents. Ive made repeated calls all to no avail. My mother was an XXXX XXXX with minimal education and likely didnt understand what she was signing. That aside, I cant get this company to provide me with the basic documents or explain how they treat the estate of a decedent. I have been trying to get this information since XXXX. The added stress of this situation, and the monetary impact are made all the worse as I have to put aside my grieving to deal with this issue for my family. Any help would be appreciated.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX and XXXX I took out 5 loans. The last in XXXX being XXXX. For years navient recommended forbearance and or deferments and when payment was made when not in deferments. The moneys were allocated to loans that did not need payment yet and this caused extra late fees on the loans that were supposed to have gotten the full payment. They told us they divided up the money and dispersed it to all the loans. When asked for a lower payment option we were given an amount that didn't even cover the 12 % interest rate on the XXXX loan. Now 14 years later the XXXX loan is now a XXXX loan. Having the unpaid interest transferred to the principle. This causes interest rate to increase. At one point they claimed I owed XXXX on the XXXX loan due to interest. They have since lowered that number to XXXX. I am not sure why the moneys that we paid only went to pay off the smaller XXXX and XXXX loans with a 4 % interest rate. Also I spoke to XXXX XXXX who says They have my 5 loans including the XXXX loan. And we have been paying them as well. Navient claims my loans are private loans and are different. That is untrue. My loans are Federal Family loans.

Consumer Complaint: I have been working with the Department of Education and XXXX for 2 years trying to get a 90 day late payment from XX/XX/XXXX2020 removed that was given to me during XXXX. I was told if I had made a prior payment arrangement or I was given special accommodations and my loans were not delinquent I would not incur a late payment however I did have a special arrangement made. This is causing me so much pain and not to mention the depressive state I am in because I am constantly being denied for loans and funding. THIS IS NOT FAIR and MY RIGHTS are being violated. I am being treated as though I am not a human being. 15 USC ( F ) Reporting information during XXXX pandemic ( i ) Definitions In this subsection : ( I ) Accommodation The term accommodation includes an agreement to defer 1 or more payments, make a partial payment, forbear any delinquent amounts, modify a loan or contract, or any other assistance or relief granted to a consumer who is affected by the coronavirus disease XXXX ( XXXX ) pandemic during the covered period. ( II ) Covered period The term covered period means the period beginning on XX/XX/XXXX and ending on the later of ( aa ) 120 days after XX/XX/XXXX ; or ( bb ) 120 days after the date on which the national emergency concerning the novel coronavirus disease ( XXXX ) outbreak declared by the President on XX/XX/XXXX under the National Emergencies Act ( 50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq. ) terminates.
