Consumer Complaint: My husband and I have a mortgage with Nationstar Mortgage and use a company - XXXX XXXX to make bi-monthly to the mortgage company. This agreement was set per Nationstar 's instructions. Last year XXXX our of payments were incorrectly applied by Nationstar and resulted in a credit reporting of XXXX late payments for XXXX, XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. My husband and I repeatedly tried to get this cleared up and were told it had been fixed every time. Recently I applied to be pre-qualified for a home loan and was told there were XXXX late payments on my credit report XX/XX/XXXX. It took a month of repeated phone calls and finally they generated a letter that stated they would fix the incorrect reporting. The letter was useless - it stated the dates were for XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX not XX/XX/XXXX XXXX Please note that it is barely XX/XX/XXXX we have n't gotten to XX/XX/XXXX XXXX In addition it turned out that Nationstar had reapplied the payments XX/XX/XXXX which resulted in overpayment. The company suspended and held on to those extra funds totaling over {$1000.00} until XX/XX/XXXX. According to Nationstar 's policy they are required to return any funds held in suspense after 90 days. It took my repeated nagging, unpleasant phone calls to get this sorted out ... .yet ... here I am again ... .on hold ... waiting ... for them to fix the problem they created over a year ago with a letter I can not use to clean up my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: NationStar Mortgage is added a {$110.00} 0n our mortgage bill for the Month of XXXX, according to the bill they sent us it is stated as fees and Charges and there is no explanation of the reason for the Charges. NationStar has not still explained to us why they have raised our Escrow payment to {$130.00} when our house value is at its lowest. We think the cfpb should look very closely at the practices of NationStar Mortgage randomly and illegally charging fees that are not warranted. My Family and I are barely earning above XXXX, for them to charge us such fees on top of an 8.5 % interest mortgage rate is just another prime example of their disregard of the struggles that families like us are still going through to keep us in our homes. Any fees illegally paid to NationStar Mortgage should be paid back in full.

Consumer Complaint: I am trying to get my PMI cancelled including appreciation. The mortgage company has repeatedly sent me the same e-mail with information that tells me my house needs to appraise at a value that would bring me to a 70 % LTV ratio, but the document clearly says that I only need to get to 75 % LTV. I have contacted them via e-mail 5 times, called and a manager who confirmed that the appraisal value should be lower. I asked the manager to send that to me in writing, but he did n't. When I followed up to talk to the manager, the company informed me that they would be sending me the same information that they already sent with the higher appraisal value. The company is providing incorrect written information which could be used to deny PMI cancellation in the future even when criteria have been met to cancel it.

Consumer Complaint: Not only did this company not address my issue, I am struggling to make any sense of their response. First, I have held this FHA loan for greater than XXXX years, thus the necessary time frame has passed for me to get removal of my PMI, pursuant to FHA guidelines. Second, PMI can be lifted once my equity amount has increased to a certain percentage. The numbers Nationstar 's is basing its numbers on in its letter dated XX/XX/XXXX are based on the numbers of my LTV ratio when it was appraised and purchased in XX/XX/XXXX. My condo has appreciated in value since then, thus the LTV is different. I am looking to get an appraiser to come in XX/XX/XXXX and appraise the property so that I can ascertain its current value and get my PMI lifted. Nationstar is telling me I have to use XXXX of their appraisers and that I can not get XXXX of my own licensed and bonded appraisers to value the property in XX/XX/XXXX. The letter I received from Nationstar today suggests that they are skirting the issue and not answering ( nor sending ) me the authority that says I need to use XXXX of their appraisers. Again : I want the authority that says I have to use a Nationstar appraiser in XX/XX/XXXX since Nationstar says I have to use XXXX of their appraisers. I want said authority sent to me. Since Nationstar has made the terms of my FHA loan an issue, please send me the authority that says I can not get my PMI lifted once my LTV ratio meets certain amounts. I have been very clear about my requests. This is now the XXXX time I have requested the same thing.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX we applied for and received a governmentmodification through our mortgage company XXXX. In XXXX of XXXX our mortgage transferred to NationstarMortgage. During this time we paid our mortgage ontime each month for the amount listed on our statement. In XXXX of XXXX I was informed by Nationstar that ourmortgage would be going up very significantly becauseour previous mortgage company XXXX had been lettingour escrow account go into a negative state of over XXXX said we would need to repay all the money and wantedus to repay in a short period of time with extremely largepayments. I told them I could not pay that amount andwould end up losing my house. After several phone callsand begging they agreed to let us stretch out the repayment. Our mortgage is now over {$600.00} more per month. I asked for an explanation on how something like this couldhappen and asked several times to speak to a supervisorand was never able to. I even sent a certified letter toNationstar and never received an answer. I asked for ourPMI to be removed to help lower our payment but becauseof the negative escrow amount they said they consider ourloan to be delinquent and until it is all paid back we will notbe able to get rid of our PMI. I said to them our paymenthistory should be considered and that it was n't my fault thatthe previous mortgage company let this happened. I askedwhy it took so long for them to figure it out as I had made 9months of payments to them at the lower amount. They saidthey had done an escrow review and discovered the issue. I learned of the increase by calling to pay my mortgage theynever even sent me a letter to explain or show whathappened.

Consumer Complaint: Nationstar Mortgage continually misappropriates my payments. They put the money wherever they feel like, and I have to call on a monthly basis to get it straightened out. I pay my taxes and insurance and have had no escrow since the establishment of the mortgage. In XXXX, they paid my insurer, out of an escrow account that did n't exist, XXXX 10 XXXX days after I paid the homeowners insurance in full. Then they made me responsible for getting their money back. I received a check from my insurer. I put the check, a letter describing what happened and what needs to be done, and a copy of their letter that detailed the situation. The money was full appropriated to my principal and they told me my escrow account, which does n't exist, was in arreers. I had to call to get this matter straightened out and they had XXXX XXXX XXXX payment misappropriated. If I would n't have checked on my mortgage, I would have been " late '' on payment because of this. Now, as I attempt to make another mortgage payment, They have increased my payment approximately {$64.00} to cover escrow costs. THERE IS NO ESCROW ACCOUNT, THERE NEVER WILL BE!. I now have to call them again and get my account straightened out. They are under several investigations, and have several pending lawsuits against them. I want my mortgage sold to a reputable mortgage company.
