Consumer Complaint: I have a mortgage account with Nationstar mortgage. We made a payment today but they reversed it, kept the money ( unapplied ) and refuses to give us explanation. I feel like they just want our house. Years ago, we ran into financial trouble due to unemployment. We seek for loan modification. They took years to process it. Then when they finally modified our house. They added over $ XXXX towards our balance, unpaid payments, and raised our payments to {$3500.00}. This caused us even more financial trouble. They robbed us. We put so much money down to buy this house. We have been paying for 9 years. Loan started at $ XXXX but now it 's $ XXXX because of the greed of this mortgage company. We want help to get forgiveness for amount they capitalized, put us in an affordable payment and help us stay in our home. Now the website shows I am not eligible to make payments?

Consumer Complaint: As of XXXX our mortgage company ( Nationstar Mortgage ) increased our monthly payment by {$130.00} citing an increase in flood insurance ( mandatory for our address ) and also our taxes increased. I was not aware of the increase, so I continued paying the normal {$2500.00} mortgage payment each month. We have over {$3000.00} in our escrow account, and I asked why it was n't taken out of that account, rather we got late fees and my husbands credit was docked two months in a row. They talked in circles and eventually said 'We can only reverse bad credit marks if Nationstar was at fault '. I 've since paid the $ XXXX we were behind and now we 're up to date. Though they 're reporting to credit bureas that we were behind 30+ days each month.

Consumer Complaint: I have owned my home for nearly 20 years. I am facing a foreclosure sale because my mortgage lender, Nationstar refuses to review my financial information and put any options on the table. Nationstar has stated to us that even though they received XXXX in government bailout funds that they are not obligated to participate, and that the investor on our particular loan does not offer any type of modification or retention options. This despite the fact that my wife and I earn a solid living and clearly fit into guidelines for government programs. This is a situation that could be fixed, but Nationstar will not assign a single point of contact, will not even look or consider ANY type of retention programs. I understand that possibly the investor has rules but it is common sense to try and FIX the problem when we have clearly demonstrated the ability to pay. We tried to talk to them about other options for retention outside of modification ( recapitalizing the late payments, repayment plan, etc. ) but they would not even CONSIDER this. I must say that I believe that this may have been racially motivated. My wife and I are XXXX XXXX and we were misled from the time we were talked into this bad adjustable rate loan ( starts at 7.5 % and can adjust as high as 14.5 % ) and then when we struggle we are told we ca n't even be CONSIDERED for a government program that we know our lender participates in. The agents who said they would help us and work with us soon became condescending and rude and then simply ignored us. This is not acceptable. I make a solid income through my social administration work. My wife is gainfully employed as well. We are not asking for a handout, just a fair shake. Nationstar has not given us one. We clearly fit into guidelines for help and this is an avoidable foreclosure. This situation is bad for our family, for our neighbors, for Pennsylvania and for our government that used taxpayer money to give Nationstar XXXX to help struggling homeowners!!!

Consumer Complaint: My income is very unpredictable, so I try and make as many advance payments as I can to prepare for when things get tight. My loan was just bought by Nationstar several months ago, I I have yet been able to make a single payment. They keep reversing my payment because they say I 'm paid too fare in advance. Every time I call them I get a different answer. They stated that they refuse to take an advance payment from me. I have never had a problem with any other mortgage company I have had. I 'm so scared I might lose my house, because next year I may not make the kind of money I 'm making now. Please help me force them to accept my payments. They keep reversing them and putting them to the principal, even though that is not what I specifically designated the payment to go to. I have called numerous times, and they do not seem to care. I just want them to accept my advance payments.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2016 I received an email from Nationstar that my home mortgage loan servicer was changed from XXXX to Nationstar. On XX/XX/2016 I received a privacy form letter from Nationstar stating that I could opt out of my information being provided by Nationstar to non-affiliates, etc., to market to me. Responding to this letter to indicate that I do n't want my information provided to such entities requires my Nationstar loan no. I called Nationstar to get my loan no., and was told it was not available because Nationstar just bought several other servicers and they are very busy inputting all of the data, but that there will be no late payment penalties for the first two months, presumably because it will take that much time for them to get me a loan no. so that I can make my mortgage payments. My concern is that many people will forget about this privacy letter between the time they receive it and the time they receive their loan no., thereby thwarting the purpose of the law. I would like to see Nationstar re-send the privacy notice with, or shortly after, it sends out the notice of everyone 's new loan no 's.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2016, we suffered a water damage and we received a check from our insurance company on XXXX XXXX for {$20000.00} that we were obligated to endorse to our mortgage servicing company, XXXX. They kept the money and sold it together with the loan servicing contract to Nationstar Mortgage LLC of XXXX Ohio on XXXX XXXX. We had asked Nationstar not to accept this money since it belongs to us. We do not owe any money to either the lender or the serving company. Our home is worth {$830.00} to {$850000.00} and our morgage is {$470000.00} at this time. There are no reason for Nationstar not to send us a check and of course we are becoming more and more frustrated since we had to pay for ALL the repairs ourselves in a time of need. We understand that it is a common practice of Nationstar as XXXX XXXX XXXX currently investigates Practices of Nationstar Mortgage With Respect to the Release of Insurance Claim Proceeds to Borrower. This creates hardship to us and we certainly would appreciate if you could give Nationstar a call to expedite the process, as we do not know at this stage whether we should call the attorney general to file a complaint for robbery. We thank you in advance XXXX and XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: During the closing of our home, the mortgage company ( XXXX ) selected an appraiser that used higher priced comparables outside of our neighborhood to appraise the home XXXX above the sale price of XXXX. One and a half years later while we were attempting to re-fiance with our current mortgage servicer ( NationStar ), they selected an appraiser that only used lower comparables, exclusively in our neighborhood. The appraisal came in XXXX lower than the actual sale price. In both cases the appraiser noted local prices were stable. It appears that either the initial appraiser or the second appraiser or both appraisers made sure to select an appraisal value that most benefited the mortgage company that ordered the appraisal. In the first case the higher appraised value helped ensure we continued with the closing process. In the second case, the lower appraised value meant we needed to bring more cash to the table, as our primary motivation for re-financing was to remove the PMI from the initial loan.
