Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I noticed the collection from national credit systems following the end of the lease around XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX. After receiving no information in regard from this collection from either the apartment complex or the collection agency, I contacted the collection agency. I was told that there were charges made by the complex. I then asked what these damages were and was sent an itemized report via email. The report included multiple damaged blinds, painting of the walls ( which did not occur ), a large hole in the wall ( which was merely a small scrape of paint missing due to a small metal piece that was sticking out of the top of the electric reclining couch ) and multiple missed payments which were made via money order to the complex due to the online pay system being down. I asked the customer service rep at National Credit Systems why I hadnt received any information regarding these charges and received no reasonable answer. I have picture proof of the state of the unit taken on the last day of my cleaning and walkthrough of the apartment. Im very displeased from the behavior of the company that owns the complex ( who are very difficult to contact ) and by the lack of assistance from the collection agency. The charge is a derogatory mark on my credit report and has made it impossible to get leasing into another apartment complex. The charge is for {$3600.00} which appears to be very bad when other companies see the amount and where the charge is from.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I found out that I have a property debt on my credit report for {$3400.00} owed to XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. I moved out of this property XX/XX/XXXX only after being there a few months and had very bad bug problems that never was fixed. Before moving Myself and my partner at the time were taken to court for 2 months rent or eviction was in process. We paid this payment to the apartments after court and still eventually moved. Fast forward to XXXX and National Credit Systems is on my credit for this property and for an amount I KNOW I DO NOT OWE. There is also XXXX XXXX on this account and she was never on the lease and is no longer living. I have called Nation Credit Systems over 5 times since finding out about this debt and trying to explain to them that this is fraud in so many ways and I need a Legal Document that originated from the apartments that itemizes the charges. I have been Hung Up ON, Talked So RUDE Too and Very over all unprofessional to me while I am in need of help with this. I was then emailed on XX/XX/XXXX a Noticeable made up copy of the debt and " ADDITIONAL CHARGES '' that have amounts but NOT What it is for. There is alot of Illegal things going on with this account and I really need this off my credit. I DO NOT OWE THIS MONEY.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX is still reporting an account as well as the address in my personal information. That account was supposed to stop reporting for all three credit bureaus Per NATIONAL CREDIT SYSTEM. I've taken a substantial hit on my credit from this account constantly being reported as a verified item when this account wasn't mine. Now even after it's revealed that it doesn't belong to me it's still reporting and harming my credit. I've attached the previous CFPB claim that I submitted for this account. Attached I've included the XXXX credit reports. ( XX/XX/XXXX to show the fraud account and address reporting with my score of XXXX, XXXX showing my score of XXXX without the fraud account but with the fraud address, XX/XX/XXXX showing my score of XXXX with a reinserted fraud account reporting on my credit report without the name of NATIONAL CREDIT SYSTEM showing.

Consumer Complaint: After receiving the initial notice of the debt, I called XXXX XXXX to get more information about the debts owed. In my conversation with the agent, she went through several common problems ( failure to submit notice to vacate, cleaning fees, rent owed, etc. ), but none of these situations applied to me as reflected by the payments on my account. She said that she would discuss this with her manager and return my call to explain the debt. My call was never returned, and I have not received any further communication until I received another collection notice this evening. I have attempted to contact XXXX XXXX multiple times since the original outreach, but my calls and messages have not been answered.

Consumer Complaint: National Credit Services sent me a letter stating that my ex-landlord turned me over to them on a debt I was disputing with the landlord for the total amount of {$3100.00}. The initial " creditor '' was XXXX XXXX XXXX. They told me I needed to call or write them by XX/XX/2022 to dispute the debt. I sent National Credit Services a letter disputing the debt within the 30 day time allotted to me, on XX/XX/XXXX, via email to XXXX. They did not contact me again, but rather reported my debt to credit reporting agencies. I was first informed of it being reported to credit reporting agencies on XX/XX/2022. They were supposed to stop all collection activity until they had responded to my dispute. They never responded, but instead took action to negatively affect my credit. Below is a copy of the email I sent them : To Whom It May Concern, We dispute this debt in its entirety for the reasons shown below. Any charges related to the replacement of carpet, which underwent normal wear and tear for 5 1/2 years are fraudulent charges. The average useful life of carpet in a rental property is 5 years. We lived there for 5 1/2 years. It was time for them to replace the carpet any way and to try to charge us for their cost of doing business is fraudulent. We did no more damage to the carpet than normal wear and tear that anyone else would have done after almost six years of living in that residence. Further, XXXX always replaces the carpet after a tenant moves. We are not responsible for their costs of doing business. We deny any and all charges related to this. They had mentioned a hole in the ceiling. That hole in the ceiling was due to a leaky pipe in the walls of the apartment of which they were alerted multiple times but failed to adequately fix. Any charges related to that hole are not our responsibility but theirs. We deny any and all charges related to this. One other charge that sticks out in my mind is that we left behind a queen sized mattress, which yes, they had to move approximately 25 feet to the dumpster. For that " service '', they are attempting to charge us {$190.00}. That is exhorbitant and fraudulent to charge that. They provided no receipts for any of the supposed work that was done, nor a complete itemized list of supposed damages and charges for each item. Our {$200.00} deposit and {$200.00} pet deposit should have been more than enough to cover any minor cleaning or damages that needed to be remedied. I have never before had a rental company take more than a couple XXXX dollars out of my deposit for cleaning/damage prior to this and {$3100.00} is simply outrageous on top of the {$400.00} we already gave them. And considering that they tried to charge us {$190.00} to move a mattress 25 feet, I can only imagine that they have not only padded the charges, but raised them extortionately. I understand times are hard for everyone right now, but for XXXX to try to defraud and extort money from us that is their cost of doing business is reprehensible. I will fight this fully and should XXXX persist in this matter, I will look into and use all legal remedies available to me, including filing a case against them for fraud, should any damage be done to my credit report. Further, should you take part in any damage to me or my credit report, you will be included in any legal remedies that I seek. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX & XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from this company about this alleged debt. I submitted a letter for Validation, requesting they prove the right to collect on this debt and to provide their license number for the state of Florida as it is illegal to collect on a debt without being licensed in the state of Florida. The information sent did not provide this information and completely ignored my request. I sent a follow-up notice stating that they failed to provide information proving their right to collect on this debt within the XXXX time frame, and requested the debt be removed from my credit as reporting it is now violating the FCRA. I did not receive a response from them and upon further review found that they do not hold a license in the state of Florida and are therefore attempting to collect illegally.

Consumer Complaint: National Credit Systems , Inc . Spoke with XXXX XXXX at XXXX. I received an alert from my credit monitoring company on Friday, XX/XX/2022, that an update to my credit file was available, when checking my account, I found that National Credit Systems , Inc. had placed a collections account on my credit file, which instantly dropped my credit score by approximately XXXX points. I contacted XXXX XXXX and explained that I had received calls and letters from his company and spoke with them and told them and XXXX XXXX that this account was not mines. I explained that I have only lived in XXXX and that my daughter, resides in XXXX XXXX and that we do have the same first and last name, but our Social Security numbers are not the same. XXXX XXXX stated that the leasing company XXXX XXXX hired National Credit Systems , Inc. to collect the outstanding lease balance due and gave him information with my name, social security number, address and phone number. He also stated that my daughter used my social security number to secure the lease property. He stated that he could not provide me with any documentation that shows that her application for this lease that was applied for and approved on-line, but that my daughter needed to contact the leasing company. I told XXXX XXXX that I am familiar with skip tracing practices and that is the only way that he could have tied my personal information with that of my daughter based on us having the same name and that she once resided in XXXX. I asked XXXX XXXX to supply me with documentation that proves that my daughter used my personal information on line to be approved for this lease and he stated that he did not have anything from the leasing company other than my personal information. XXXX XXXX asked me to supply him with a copy of my Driver 's license, Social Security Card and Credit Report. I did not feel comfortable submitting any documentation to him, because it is not my debt. XXXX XXXX told me that I only had two choices, one was to pay the debt myself and try to get my daughter to own up to the fact that she used my identity, or to file a fraud/felony report on my daughter and threatened that she would be arrested and prosecuted. XXXX XXXX could not provide me with any documentation to prove that my personal information was used to apply for the rental home. Again, I believe that some sort of skip tracing was used to trace the aforementioned to me and my personal information. THIS IS NOT MY DEBT AND I WANT THIS REMOVED FROM MY CREDIT REPORT. I AM A XXXX XXXX AND I FEEL THAT SCARE TACTICS WERE USED BY XXXX XXXX TO TRY AND GET ME TO PAY FOR A DEBT THAT IS NOT MINE. HE EVEN TRIED TO GET ME TO PAY BY CREDIT CARD STATING THAT HE WOULD REDUCE THE AMOUNT OWED BY {$2000.00} IF I AGREED TO PAY THE DEBT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND HAVE THIS REMOVED FROM MY CREDIT REPORT, BECAUSE THIS IS NOT MY DEBT!
