Consumer Complaint: I resided at an apartment complex from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. I was signed on to the lease a few weeks after the original leaser ( my roommate ). After graduation, I left the apartment complex a few weeks before my roommate, as I was moving out of state. I called the complex and confirmed with the apartment complex leasing department that the account had been paid in full. My roommate was issued a refund on her deposit, though the complex had taken money out of the deposit, she still received a refund. Although the account was paid in full to the apartment complex, I paid my roommate {$150.00} dollars to cover my share of what was taken out of her deposit and any final utilities. Fast forward two years, in XX/XX/XXXX, I received an alert on my credit regarding a collections account from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Considering the account was paid in full and that I, nor my roommate, had never been contacted by the complex via phone, email, mail stating there was now a balance due, I have no knowledge of the account, nor believe it to be a valid debt. As such, I disputed the collections with the credit bureaus. XXXX and XXXX deleted the account from credit report within 2 business days. XXXX refuses to. I submitted my initial dispute with XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX ( Dispute # XXXX ). It took over 2 weeks from them to return to me stating that they confirmed the account belonged to me. I called on XX/XX/XXXX to inquire about their finding. I explained the situation above and asked if they had obtained proof of the validity of the debt, such as a final bill. The rep told me that they just confirmed it belonged to me. I then brought up the fact that the other two bureaus launched a similar investigation and have since removed the account from my report and asked about why XXXX findings were different. The rep immediately changed his story and advised that I had not filled out the dispute correctly, hence the discrepancy ; however, he would submit a new dispute ( correctly ) on my behalf to get the account deleted for me. I asked how I completed my original dispute incorrectly, as I followed all of the online prompts, and he essentially told me not to worry about it, since he was going to submit the dispute correctly for me. The rep submitted a second dispute on XX/XX/XXXX that concluded with the same results as the first dispute on XX/XX/XXXX. He submitted the exact same information as my initial dispute, which resulted in the same findings - that the account belonged to me, when I specified that I wanted them to confirm that the debt was valid. Though this particular complaint is primarily for XXXX, the apartment complex in question has a reputation for doing this to previous tenants and probably be investigated as well. I have attached numerous complaints from prior tenants ; however, I understand if this is outside of the scope of the CFPB.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of this year I noticed a collection account on my credit file. I contacted National Credit Systems in XXXX, Ga this company was listed on my credit file. I spoke with a supervisor. I explained to the Collection Agency that the reporting was inaccurate and I had no knowledge of the original creditor. I ask that she forward over the contract and a copy of the license on file. She was very rude. I called several times to speak back with a different Supervisor from the one that hung up the phone on me. I believe her name was Mrs. XXXX.On XXXX the XXXX I called the collection agency again because I had not received any information ( contract with my signature ) from them. I called the original creditor and they seem to have went out of business seems to me this whole situation is fraudulent. The original creditor has no known address or phone number. This collection agency is breaking the law by placing fraudulent activities on my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: On behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX, this company has been harassing me for the last two years, claiming that I owe them money that I do not. They are stating that the money is due to a broken lease and eviction charges. My lease was monthly and nothing was broken. I gave the apartment complex 60 days notice, the woman who I gave it to took my letter and I dont know what she did with it. They never sent me any eviction notices, and if they did I had already left the apartment. They kept my security deposit which I believe I am still owed by them. This is very negatively impacting my credit score and now I am unable to buy or rent another home.

Consumer Complaint: The apartment complex, XXXX XXXX XXXX & its agent, XXXX XXXX at XXXX, make the unlawful and fraudulent claim that I owe them {$2100.00}. I was physically attacked by one of their residents, XXXX XXXX ( aka XXXX XXXX ) in XX/XX/2018. Because of that, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX attempt to misrepresent that I, as the victim, was the attacker and deserved to be attacked. They have sent a bogus claim of {$2100.00} to a debt collection agency, National Credit Systems , Inc., XXXX XXXX at XXXX. Each time that I write National Credit requesting that they validate the charge, they respond back with a picture of a " TOE '' and pictures of other images unknown to me and disputed by me. Instead of validating the claim at my insistence, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and National Credit create more untrue and bogus lies to try and justify the above said amount. This erroneous information now wrongfully lies with the credit reporting agencies.

Consumer Complaint: NATIONAL CREDIT SYSTEMS at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, GA XXXX or ( XXXX ) XXXX {$5900.00} to {$1900.00} Since 2014 I have been charged an enormous amount that a debt buyer purchased without a thorough investigation. I have been calling a couple of times per year to get this resolved with no avail. A dispute with XXXX was recently modified but no actual changes to the amount was completed. The apartment complex actually sent me an email and tried to reach out to national credit system but XXXX wasn't trying to mitigate the situation. I reached to speak with him several times. The last time he placed me on a 45 minute hold when I asked to speak to a supervisor. The amount should be corrected.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: This company ignored FDCPA procedures for debt collection and improperly reported this to CRA 's without ever attempting to validate the debt. Rather, an " investigation '' did not begin until after this account was placed on my husband and I 's credit reports. I received a notices from the company, giving me 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt. I immediately responded, in writing, in correspondence received by the company XX/XX/2019. My response to them clearly outlined the amount of the debt I was disputing, which I'd already discussed with the original creditor, and requested an updated statement reflecting the actual amount owed so that payment could be remitted. Instead of a response, I received adverse action on my account. It was until I reached out by phone that I received this. As my husband 's employer was always paying the lease breaking fee, making payment itself was never a concern, however the amount needed to be corrected. The company ignored this request and reported the account to CRA 's before validating in violation of FDCPA. As they were notified in writing within 30 days of the original notice, their job was to cease collection activities while this dispute was investigated, and as such, should not have reported to credit report agencies until that was completed. As a litigious consumer, I am well within my rights to now file suit for this violation of my rights.
