This account has been heard before the XXXX District Courts and has been dismissed. In court the amount said to be owed as {$4400.00} but National Credit Systems Inc is reporting an inaccurate amount and verifying it as accurate. Consumer Complaint: National Credit System is reporting inaccurant information on my credit report. They are reporting that I owe them XXXX dollars from an apartment who are misrepresenting our arraignment and providing the with inacurate information. The apartment complex had my correct address and fowarded mail was provided but did not send me the letter advising when and why they reporting my debt to a debt collector. I recieved other mail to my new mail box- they did not even attempt to send me a debt collection letter. If they did I would have challenged the inaccuries of their report. XXXX began being fowarded XX/XX/XXXX which is a few days before I moved out. They were very nice in talking and never answered my emails back, but only would come to my door and talk. They were offered back pay before this time they reported this information and refused the accept the money and National Credit System has not been able to provide me with any truthful information involving this debt, but yet sent the paper to Nation Credit system without sending it to me so I could defend myself. This has caused me to have to leave in a homeless shelter because I am not able to get adeqate housing. I have disputed this account already and will attached open dispute in this complaint.

Consumer Complaint: I was living in an apartment in XXXX XXXX, MI named XXXX apartment with the management of XXXX XXXX for around 5 years. Before I moved out I asked them to give me and inspection and estimate cost of damage that might happened to the apartment, they REFUSED! After few month I noticed that I have a debt in a collection agency that is damaging my credit score. Finally I figured out that the apartment complex made some fraudulent bill for the damages that I did not made to the apartment and SEND IT TO A COLLECTION AGENCY WITHOUT CONTACTING ME!!! The collection agency did the same and did not call, mail or email me to negotiate the debt and after reporting to my credit company and hurting my score send me an email about the bill! I think that is their strategy to ruin people credit to threaten them for more damage they will make on the credit score to get the money as soon as possible. I need both my XXXX apartment ( Run by XXXX XXXX, XXXX, MI ) and collection agency ( NATIONAL CREDIT SYSTEMS, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, GA ) proof that they have contacted me for the debt! They also need some proof for the made up bill! for example around XXXX bucks just for removing trash! I vacuumed cleaned the apartment! also for carpet and other damage they need to show proof and also a good excuse why they did not contact me to negotiate and confirm the bill. Another fraudulent fact that you can see is that they send me the bill on XX/XX/2022 after I asked them and after they sold the debt to the collection agency and you can see in the bill that they billed me XXXX USD but they sold the debt tothe collection agency for XXXX USD! Just look at the bill and the date on it! after sold it to the collection agency! Will also upload some pictures of the apartment is necessary. Really appreciate your help.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: Between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX I had received 2 letters from two different debt collecting agencies regarding the same collection of {$840.00} for damages made to a rental property after " moving out ''. I had immediately noticed that although I had lived in that community complex the unit in question was not the one i had rented and that in fact I wasn't even living in the same state where this property is located when a leasing contract was produced. I relocated to XXXX, XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX after accepting a full time job offer and the lease of the unit in question had been done in XX/XX/XXXX ; almost XXXX months after I had left XXXX, XXXX to work. Although I had never even seen the alleged unit I had recognized the number because it was the one that my sister moved in to in order to downsize and be able to stay in the same community with her son. Since I had moved out she didn't had the need for XXXX bedrooms anymore. The building management had added me to that new lease mistakenly and without my knowledge or authorization. The leasing offices knew about my relocation and I even reminded them of this after receiving a call regarding a work ordered for that apartment. The person I'd talked to apologized for the situation and reassured me that she was going to take care of things since my sister had moved to the unit had informed me that my sister had officially downsized and that they would take care of the misunderstanding. She said that was going to be very easy fixing this because although my sister had moved to the new unit 3-4 months already a lease for that unit hadn't even been created yet. Little did I know that a new lease would be done and that not only my name would be added but my signature was forged too. I found out about this on XX/XX/XXXX after one of the collecting agencies sent me copy of the documents they had as " proof '' that I was responsible for the amount mentioned earlier. I called them right away to inform them that I had been a victim of identity theft. I also informed them that I was actually waiting for a police officer to arrive to do an official report. Because I use a motorized wheelchair getting a last minute special transportation is close to impossible but to my surprise the officer I'd talked requested for an officer to come to me instead to take that report. In addition to the police report, I also completed online an FTC Identity Theft Report and sent out copies of these 2 reports and of all supporting documentation to the two collecting agencies as well as to the leasing company of the property in question. In the package sent out to both collecting agencies I included a letter I wrote to each of them summarizing the events, confirming that I had been a victim of identity theft and the debt was not mine. I'd mentioned what was included in the package and asked them not only to notify the property but to also please stop the collection proceeding and communication with me in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act except as the Fair Credit Reporting Act allowed. Last but not least I'd asked them to send me a letter with the steps they planned to take to : a ) inform the property / community complex that the debt was the result of fraud, b ) stop collection proceedings against me and, c ) correct the information that they had reported to the three credit reporting companies. Although this letter I requested from each of them was never received I'd stopped receiving their calls and I slowly worked with each credit company to have that collection removed from my credit history. To my surprise though, a couple of days ago ( almost 4 years after this ordeal ) I received a letter from one of these debt collecting agencies warning me again about the same debt and advising me to call them as soon as possible in order to arrive to a financial settlement before they proceeded with notifying the credit companies. I was shocked and called them together with a representative from a security program I had enrolled in via my employer on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. We talked to one of the supervisors and explained everything. He'd let us know that the report against me had been sent to the credit companies on XX/XX/XXXX since according to the I had never submitted supporting documentation about my claim. I told him everything that had been sent to them back in XXXX and provided the day that they had received as I'd kept copies of everything including the postal service receipt with the tracking information which I'd followed closely. Initially he claimed that there was a typo because the 2 units only had one number that was different and that the property management was referring to the unit I had with. When he was informed that it couldn't have been because I'd had already relocated to a different state for the date the lease was created he asked me to submit copy of the lease from that state and that time period. I'd informed him that on the package I sent, as part of the supporting documentation I had included copy of the lease he was just requesting, copy of its renter 's insurance, copy of a utility bill, copy of my driver 's license containing the Unit I used to rent from the property that had made the false report and, copy of my new license containing the date I had changed it from the old state to the current. He left us on hold for a couple of minutes then proceeded to confirm that the original package sent in XXXX had indeed been received but that all the information provided was not enough and that they needed to send them more proof. What more proof than all the official documentation I'd submitted in a timely matter?! He wasn't able to provide me with specifics of the " documents '' they needed and simply proceeded to give me their new mailing address and his phone number before ending the call. I thought to myself, no wonder they never sent me a letter with their action plan because they were planning to continue harassing me almost 4 years later. I hope that the second debt collecting agency doesn't suddenly re-appear like this once since they never sent me their action plan either. What they have done and continue to do in their dealings with my case, not only violates federal law, but has caused XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that has and is, once again directly affecting my family, my work and my overall health and wellbeing.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I received a notification that a collection account had been placed on my credit report in the amount of {$550.00}. According to my credit report ( since I never received anything directly from this company ), it was from a recent apartment complex that I lived in last year. This was shocking to me because I have never received ANY communication from this company and had no knowledge that this account was due. I was not informed by the initial company saying I owe the debt, neither was I contacted about this debt from the debt collector until I saw the collection on my credit report. I then reached out to this creditor via certified mail at the end of XXXX requesting a response and a debt validation letter. It is now the end of XXXX and I still have not received any calls or documentations proving that I owe this debt. However, it is still showing as a past due collections on my credit report. I never received any documentation from this company letting me know that this account was due. I was never given the chance to dispute this debt. I was never given the chance to possibly settle the debt before the lasting effects of putting a collection on my credit score for the next 7 years. This can not be legal!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 the Company had predatoary charges on cleaning and unknown and unstated and unfair amounts. The quality of these items are not ment to withstand a 12 month lease. The initial amount {$480.00} - {$110.00} for an additional day of moving out. Therefore leaving a disputed frivolous amount of {$360.00}. The apartment management refused to recognize the additional frivolous charges with a detailed answer on the charges and instead sent a final request for {$280.00} due within so many days before it was sent to collections. Without any additional documation on what frivolous charges had been removed from the original amount of {$360.00}.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 at XXXX EST I spoke with XXXX XXXX XXXX National Credit Systems . The collector failed to verify my identity via an address, SSN or other personally identifiable information, a potential third party disclosure violation. I mentioned to the agent that I wanted to dispute the debt and XXXX proceeded to talk over me and refused to allow me to ask any questions about the debt. He wouldn't allow me to give any reason for disputing the debt or offer any means to resolve the debt other than paying such debt that I do not owe. After promptly hanging up while I was asking how else I could resolve the debt, XXXX XXXX forwarded 4 phone calls to voicemail. I may have updated my mailing address or email had the collector allowed me to know what address and email they had on file. Instead XXXX XXXX refused to provide me witht that information. This company is using the threat of damaging credit as a means to force consumers to pay debts which they may not owe and refusing to communicate ways to resolve disputes.
