Consumer Complaint: I have an account with M and T bank for 2.5 years and I tried to call them to ask about how much interest iv paid for the past 2.5 years on XX/XX/2022 Saturday. My payment is due on the second. I can't get a hold of anyone except an automated system and when I got a hold of a representative once she asked for my name and social sending me through 5 automated unsolicited advertisments than I hear good bye at the end of the call suddenly. I have a secured loan with them so I take this seriously. I can't get a hold of the bank and I'm being going to be charged more interest because I am unable to talk to anyone and my payment may not even get made because no one will answer the phone plus these advertisments are completely unacceptable and unwelcome.

Consumer Complaint: Recently completed a loan modification with M & T bank. I was made to believe that the modification was for total amount owed on the loan. The deed of trust i signed had no mention of a subordinate 2nd loan which throughout they had failed to disclose. In recent communication M & T bank stated they do not have to disclose to the customer the total debt. So me as a borrower was not informed therefore unable to make a informed decision about the modification and subsequent balloon payment at the end of the loan term.

I found out " only '' from an email from a credit reporting agency after they had already pulled it. When I asked the bank why they had done that without asking me, specifying it caused my credit score to drop several points, they said that it was 'normal ' to continue a loan process.

Consumer Complaint: The same dispute as before continues unresolved, with new features. The bank known as M & T agreed to accept a complementary payment to take the {$510.00}, which they are holding and refusing to return to me, and add it to an amount given to me by XXXX and arranged to be applied. This check was refused and no payment was credited. As though it were a new idea, M & T bank sent me a letter saying to pay a DIFFERENT amount and it would be added to the {$510.00} and accepted as full payment. I sent this amount in ( {$140.00} ). They cashed the check and never made the payment. Never acknowledged receiving it and the money has gone into oblivion. Then they started harassing me by phone and applying late charges. I want this nonsense and incompetent and illegal banking procedure to stop at once and have all of my money returned to me.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX am I contacted the bank about a mortgage application that we submitted. Upon speaking with the representative over the phone at the bank she insisted that she couldn't assist us. She said to call customer service before handing me over to the branch manager who claimed she couldn't assist then when pressed about the reason she whispered disrespectful remarks about us to the representative next to her that could be overheard since she had us on speak phone. The manager XXXX XXXX informed me that she didn't have to assist me even though I have a checking account with them. Meanwhile ignoring the fact she just disrespected me for asking for help. Before she hung up the phone on me I told her I am closing my account today. I proceeded to the bank immediately and requested to close my account. I demanded to speak with her supervisor and she declined and closed her office door on me to which I responded calling her useless. She refused to close my account then called the police to have me escorted out. The police told her that she couldn't call the police for simple customer disputes. If everyone customer service representative called the police there'd be chaos. Since nothing could be done I left the bank and proceeded to contact customer service once more to no avail. I received a letter on XX/XX/XXXX dated XX/XX/XXXX stating the manager XXXX XXXX has used her authority to close my checking account without due process or any regard to myself and the fact that I am permanently XXXX the manager is taking advantage to avoid consequences for their actions when I requested it it couldn't be done but she can retaliate and close my account instead. Nevermind the damage to my credit score given I have a pending mortgage application. This should be illegal.

Consumer Complaint: I received a Visa debit card in the mail from M & T Bank. I d I'd not apply for this card. I called M & T Bank to report that I did not apply for this card. They told me that their fraud department closed the account because the person who applied couldn't prove their identity. Then they advised me to call my banks to put them on alert and then call the XXXX XXXX XXXX to put an alert fraud alert on my information & contact you to freeze my credit & file a complaint.
