Consumer Complaint: I recently opened an account with M & T bank in hopes of switching over and finding a new bank to keep my savings with less fees involved. I made a deposit into my account and They held my check for 7 days which is completely normal. I had no worries since it was a cashiers check that I requested from my previous bank. Of course on the first of the month when my bills are due they block my debit card and my account. I have no access to my online account. I called customer service and the fraud department only to be transferred around numerous times over and over. They advised me to step into a branch & when I got to the branch drive thru and requested to close my account the teller was rude and giving me a hard time. I do not care about any fees because my account is under 6 months old please just close this account and return my funds and I will find a new bank to build a relationship with. M & T and their business practices are ridiculous

I called back again and after 2 hrs of being on hold again they hung up on me. I called 3x on my cell phone to speak to an operator and a supervisor and they got me nowhere. Consumer Complaint: Coming on the heels of my several complaints against M & T Bank with your agency, I have just been informed that M & T Bank, in addition to stealing the {$20000.00} that I currently have pending complaints with your office so that they can " return it sometime in XX/XX/XXXX, '' has also dishonestly turned off the notification for any and all credit charge backs through their M & T Bank Merchant Services company, so that I can never even find out if a new credit card charge back has been lodged since they abruptly closed my account in XX/XX/XXXX. This they are doing precisely because I have won 100 % of all of my credit card charge backs against dishonest thieving former law firm clients, because we always keep signed retainer agreement contracts, detailed billing invoices, copies of hard legal work in well organized electronic and manila files, and other evidence which militates against losing any credit card chargeback. But M & T Bank, in their continued fit of bad faith, vengeance and retaliation for my having filed complaints against them with your agency, cut off our notifications through businesstrack.com and/or swipesimple.com, and now we have no idea if any credit card charge backs have come through since they shut us down in XX/XX/XXXX, and we can not even respond to them. This leads me to believe that if, and when, the date comes for M & T Bank to refund our stolen {$20000.00}, that not only will there be nothing left, but in fact, we may wind up owing M & T Bank if they paid anything out to these deadbeat thieving lying former clients who may have done a charge back ( because there was never any response from us ). I would like to mention, outside of what had taken place between these two banks, in the recent months, I have been receiving erroroneuos XXXX emails for random bank account statements and bills to accounts, which I did not XXXX anzyone permissions authorizing to have been opened-up ever. M and T bank, has allowed an unauthorized checkings account to be opened in my name. Granted for Authorized checkings account number : ending # XXXX NOT- Granted / Un-Authorized checkings account number : ending # XXXX Meaning, there should have been only one single checkings account ending with XXXX, and with one single savings account ending with XXXX. M and T bank, allowed my money to be transferred out my checkings account numbered : ending in XXXX, which was then moved into the unauthorized account numbered : ending in XXXX. M and T bank, on XX/XX/XXXX filed a dispute to XXXXXXXX XXXX for only some of the missing funds in the total dollar amount of {$110000.00}. All the transactions were grouped together all into 3 seperate primary dispute case ID, done by M & T bank. XXXX - used for account ending in XXXX with the amount of {$100000.00} XXXX - used for account ending in XXXX with the amount of {$16000.00} XXXX - used for account for account ending in XXXX with the amount of {$19000.00} However, the true total in missing funds dollar amount actually is equal to {$130000.00}, which is from the bank statements for the transfers made out of account numbered ending in XXXX, directed to ending in XXXX. ( The only Authorized M & T bank Checkings Account ). By, the date of XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX, honored M & T banks filed dispute claims, and reversed all of the unauthorized transactions, that were previously disputed, only. I spoke with XXXX XXXX, who made an apology to me stating, that their were three unauthorized accounts ( TWO ONLINE CHECKINGS ACCOUNTS WITH ONE SAVINGS ACCOUNT ), which all had been opened online in my name, and also mentioned that all funds were already, reversed by the date of XX/XX/XXXX. M and T bank, had POSTED to my replacement checking account numbered of ending in XXXX, some of the disputed reversed amounts by the date of XX/XX/XXXX, and placed an account restriction hold on my account just right, after, along with a stop payment on a deposited M & T bank official check which they never returned, also taking my money in that incident, but as well. M and T bank, has since mailed me out two letters, on multiple occasions, stating the following in the below, but with each letter only indicating separate and different claims numbers, and also different reversed credit amounts.
