Consumer Complaint: I closed on a VA loan assumption with M & T Bank on XX/XX/2022. I have run into multiple issues with M & T Bank both before and after closing. Most recently : 1. The loan number provided to me prior to closing is different than the loan number now referenced on a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX and addressed to me. The loan number referenced on the letter is the same loan number as that which belonged to the former/original borrower. 2. Because I was given the wrong loan number, my homeowners insurance declarations page references the wrong loan number in the additional interest information, potentially creating future issues with escrow payments and/or payments for insurance claim proceeds. 3. I can not register for online account access with EITHER loan number. I receive an error message either way that the information I entered does not match the information they have on file. 4. The aforementioned letter was mailed to the mailing address for the former/original borrower. I have never provided that address as my own mailing address. Because of that error, the letter was received by the former/original borrower first and did not get to me until XX/XX/XXXX, after that person returned it to XXXX. 5. The aforementioned letter indicates payment in the amount of {$1400.00} is due XX/XX/2022. My closing statement confirms I paid that same amount as part of my closing costs on XX/XX/2022, and on the closing statement it is specifically indicated that the amount was for the XXXX payment.

Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of highly reported extreme identity theft. M & T bank has constantly, hindered my resolutions, concerning my mortgage with them. They have falsely reported inaccurate information to the reporting agencies, causing me to have a negative impact to my credit scores. I have also endured constantly sending documents in for signatures, that were, supposedly incorrect or missing information. I reported fraud to M & T Bank that has occurred fraudulently with the Department of Defense accounting system, Social security, U. S department of Treasury, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I reported to M & T bank to have received calls and notification of fraudulent activity occurring with my mortgage company M & T Bank, I was told there was know fraudulent activities on my account. M & T bank has placed a foreclosure on my home and has know intentions on listening to me and investigating the fraud activities that they are directly connected to on XXXX XXXX M & T bank reported me as having a negative TRADE LINE, this is not mine it is fraudulent and M & T Bank reported it as an derogatory account along with notification of a fraudulent Bankruptcy I notified them about. M & T bank is not reporting my payments and the suspense account does not exist. M & T Bank reported to the VA loan services that I have not made a. Payment, since XXXX. My ex husbands name was fraudulently removed from the mortgage. M & T Bank has changed reporting information that I have from earlier credit reports. I am afraid to submit paperwork to M & T bank they have know trust from me I am enduring intention hardship from the consumer that control the welfare of myself and family. The unlawful constant, disregarded attitude I have received from M & T bank frightens me I am a 100 percent combat XXXX Texas XXXX Veteran. I am XXXX XXXX and doing the best I can. There are know services to help me. I am a victim I am innocent and this is mentally exhausting the treatment from all other federal entities is exceptional, XXXX XXXX has taking special time out to ensure, I am receiving the help with basic daily needs, due to my wages being fraudulently taken and transferred, along with my utility and water company. I am receiving extreme retaliation for reporting The fraudulent activities occurring to the police others. My case was deemed Fraudulent from all entities financial institutions except M & T bank and they perusing foreclosure on my home. The hardship paperwork needed for my application for a modification or any other services can not be acquired accurately, due to the fraudulent activities on my entire life. All of my devices are hacked including my cell phone. My XXXXXXXX and the computer system in my car. I am constantly paying bill that have know recognition of occurring. I have credit cards fraudulent identified under my name. That were used for large amounts of money that are not being tracked that came to my house through the mail. I have XXXX online obituaries reporting my death. My retirement pay combat pay and XXXX pay has been rerouted and returned to the institutions they came from fraudulently. The IRS is not reporting the same thing as any of my federal pay accounts are. My XXXX plan has disappeared from XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX and being reported as XXXX .I am requesting that you please halt all activities and actions against m, until a full thorough investigation has been completed. Justice has been found in my favor and fraud has been directly noted from all entities involved. M & at Bank has directly proven they are apart of the fraud when they reported me as having a derogatory XXXX XXXX with them to the credit reporting systems that does not exist m. They were also aware of the fraudulent Bankruptcy that is not mine that occurred on or before XX/XX/XXXX. Please help me receive XXXX fair treatment all victims deserve. To deal with a foreclosure and fraudulent activity identity theft and undue intentional heinously cruel hardship do to fraudulent actions is more than anyone should have to deal with as a victim with documentation of 3 major financial institutions being involved, from a simple bank. I am in fear more due to the retaliation and I need help. Please help me.

Consumer Complaint: I was informed by M & T Bank via e-mail on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX PST that my mortgage now belongs to them effective XX/XX/XXXX and I should have received a welcome packet and information. I attempted to reach them via phone after the e-mail arrived, as no welcome packet ever came. The XXXX XXXX stated that they are attempting to collect a debt, and my home is in default. No one at M & T Bank answered the phone and I wasted hours in an automated XXXX XXXX with these threatening messages. I was not properly informed of this change ; being notified via e-mail 4 days before the transfer is not adequate. I have no account number with M & T Bank and no instructions on how to contact them, as they do not answer the phone and have not responded to e-mails. I was able to get in contacted with XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX via telephone today XX/XX/XXXX and requested the payoff information. I do not want my house to end up in foreclosure due to this transfer, and will find a way or obtain a loan to pay off the mortgage. I requested the XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX staff member to figure out where this debt is coming from and why M & T Bank is stating my home is in default. She couldn't explain where M & T Bank is collecting their information. The XXXX XXXX XXXX employee stated I received an email informing me of the change on XX/XX/XXXX ; however, that e-mail was not received and no other notifications were provided by XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX regarding my mortgage transfer. M & T Bank needs to do better, sending an e-mail with no account information or appropriate contact number is not acceptable. Homeowners are only left with trying to find away to have their mortgage paid off to prevent their home from going into foreclosure. M & T Bank has failed to provide the adequate resources necessary to continue with the mortgage process. Most likely they are an illegal operation who erroneously collect debts that do not exist, forces defaults, and forecloses on homes.

When I arrived at the apartment the place did exist ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, MA XXXX ), but a different person lived there/owned the apartment and it was not being rented. It was all a scam.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2022 TO : Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau : In XXXX of XXXX, my savings account was compromised. A total of {$5000.00} was stolen from my savings account by scammers/hackers. This was verified by my local branch manager. Immediately upon discovery, I contacted by phone the M & T 's Customer Service number. M & T instructed me to go to my local branch to file the complaint with the bank manager. The manager ( XXXX XXXX ) at the XXXX branch took information and told me he would take care of everything. The manager told me the amount scammed would be refunded/replaced back into my savings account in two-five days. That was the only information that was given to me at the time of my visit. There was no additional/further information given to me with regards to what I needed to do or what M & T Bank would do for me. A few days later, the disaster hit. 1 ) My ATM debit card was deactivated by the bank. I could not use my card for withdrawals. I made another trip to M & T where the manager later informed me that my account was under investigation and my ATM card was no longer active. I was also told that I was required to make physical visits to the bank to deposit and/or withdraw funds in the future. 2 ) M & T manager told me he placed an order for a new debit card for me. NOTE : To this date, I have yet to receive the new debit card. I visited a second bank in the area ( XXXX XXXX ) and was also told a new debit card was ordered according to what was on file in the computer. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A DEBIT CARD TO THIS DATE ). I am still being forced to physically visit M & T banks to make ALL BANK transactions. THIS HAS BEEN SINCE XXXX!!?? 3 ) M & T has placed an inconvenient freeze on my checking account. 4. ) M & T has prohibited me from using my debit and credit cards. 5 ) M & T has stopped and caused all my XXXX payments for monthly bills to be declined. These payments included my monthly automatic payments via my checking account. 6 ) M & T has caused NON-PAYMENT OF CREDIT CARD BILLS. 7 ) M & T has caused a lapse in my XXXX life insurance policies with XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. The XXXX companies now require me to pay via monthly paper invoices which is an inconvenience. 8 ) M & T has caused a default with my IRS Installment Agreement. Late fees have been assessed due to lapse in the monthly payments 9 ) M & T has caused late fees to be assessed on all of my credit cards including my M & T Rewards Visa Card. 10. M & T has placed a freeze on all three of my credit bureau reports. Recent Credit Card applications were declined due to the unauthorized credit freeze. M & T did not inform me of the credit freezes. 11. M & T has caused hard inquiries on my credit report resulting in applications for credit declined. ( due to authorized credit freeze. 12. M & T 's actions have caused all of my credit cards to be declined by vendors on-line and in person. 13. M & T 's unauthorized action has lowered my credit score ). My life ( since XXXX of this yea ) r has been a total disaster. Most of it caused by M & T negligence. These inconveniences are extremely confusing and highly frustrating. It's been an extremely embarrassing situation and agonizing as I attempt to get my life back the way it was before this took place. I can't seem to get ANYONE TO HELP ME WITH THIS SITUATION. IT HAS BEEN SITTING STAGNANT SINCE XXXX. NO ONE HAS FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH WHAT I EXPECTED OF THEM. I GET PHONE NUMBERS THAT KEEP ME ON HOLD FOR LENGTHLY PERIODS OF TIME. I DON'T MAKE ANY CONTACT WITH A HUMAN BEING VIA PHONE CALLS. JUST EPISODES OF MUSIC PLAYING. All M & T cards are declined and still there has NOT BEEN ANY RESOLUTION. I STILL HAVE TO PHYSICALLY visit the bank to transact business. To date, I have called the numbers given to me to speak to a bank representative. M & T has kept me on hold ( with constant music playing ) for over XXXX HOUR each time. I verified this by driving from my home where I placed the call to my local branch. When I arrived ( only a XXXX XXXX XXXX ) ; the call was still on hold upon arrival and departure. NO ONE EVER ANSWERED MY PHONE CALL! I brought this to the bank manager 's attention. She simply said, " hang up the phone now that you are here ''! In all fairness, I request that M & T compensate me for ALL THE INCONVENIENCE AND HARDSHIP THAT I AM STILL SUFFERING AS A RESULT OF NEGLIGENCE AND THE POORLY HANDLING OF MY ACCOUNTS. I am asking for some form of compensation after all of this is said and done. This matter has drained and taking it toll on my physically, mentally, and emotionally. I feel a fair resolution to these issues of negligence on M & T Bank should be considered and awarded. No one ( at the XXXX LOCAL branches ) took the time to inform me of the fact that my CHECKING ACCOUNT was frozen, CHECKING ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED, and my CREDIT REPORTS had an unauthorized freeze on them. THIS IS NEGLIGENCE THAT CAUSED ME UNDUE STRESS, ANXIETY, AND DISTRESS. THERE STILL HAS NOT BEEN ANY RESOLUTION. Explanation : I disputed a charge with M & T bank on XX/XX/2022 that was placed on XX/XX/2022 via XXXX XXXX split transfer. Meaning a portion was paid via XXXX XXXX and the remaining balance was obtained via my M & T bank card. The reason being is because I purchased three hoodies in support of XXXX XXXX in support of the XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX in XXXX Ny in which occurred on XX/XX/2022 ; in which I have not received the merchandise, a refund of my money, or any communication from the merchant. I purchased the hoodies from the merchant XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Ny. The merchant XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX informed me that I would receive the hoodies within a week of the date off purchase, however it has been 2 months and 7 days and I have not received the merchandise or a refund. I have attempted to contact the merchant on 20 separate occasions via his business platform via social media, his cell phone. The merchant has failed to respond to me via text message, or via social media. In addition to changing his business page names, removing himself from specific social media platforms such as XXXX ; along with disconnecting his cell phone. Due to multiple failed attempts, I have contacted the police and sought out a charge dispute from M & T bank due to being scammed due to financial infidelity. I have attached a copy of supporting evidence that supports I never received any merchandise from the merchant or a refund of the payment in which I also requested 20 times within a two month and 6 day period of payment sent. In addition I have also filed a police report as per XXXX ; a customer service representative I spoke with from M & T account services on Friday XX/XX/2022 at XXXX XXXX.
