Consumer Complaint: This is a continuation on complaint XXXX, new issues have been found. I thought the initial complaint regarding my VA loan assumption was resolved, however when I logged into the M & T online banking system to pay my mortgage for XXXX I was presented with the option of paying with the banking information of the couple who I assumed the loan from. I contacted the couple and informed them that their payment information was given to me with the option to pay one month, autopay, or apply extra payment to the principle. I have taken screenshot verifying this that are available on request. I contacted the couple and informed them as well as M & T. M & T has been informed multiple that they have a problem with their system confusing the old owners information with mine. We have had M & T send my personal information to their mailing address, pay their homeowners insurance and adjusting my payment to cover the cost, gave me the old homeowners insurance information and encouraged me to call XXXX and get a refund on their account. M & T has had multiple opportunities to review this situation, providing me the old homeowners payment information and the opportunity to drain the account is negligent at this point.

I own a XXXX XXXX that employs XXXX XXXX and cares for XXXXXXXX XXXX M & T bank placed a freeze on my business bank account after depositing a check which resulted from the sell of my company car and withdrawal of the proceeds. This freeze has prevented me from being able to operate my business. I have been unable to pay my staff ( run payroll ) and order supplies like XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX M & T did not notify me that this freeze was placed on my account. I found out after my debit card kept getting declined with various merchants.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX our business discovered that we had been charged {$200.00} for XXXX XXXX XXXX. After looking into this, we have been paying a merchant processing fee to this company since XXXX of XXXX. We have a XXXX store and have used square credit card processing since the first day. We have never received a processing terminal from them nor used their services. After calling and spending many many hours on the phone we have heard varying things from Peoples United Billing Services. One representative has stated that clearly this account was supposed to have been closed in XXXX of XXXX and we should receive a full refund as we have never used any of their services. They are alleging we signed some sort of contract which they are unable to provide. M & T Bank has now acquired Peoples United Bank and they are telling us that " fraud reporting '' can only go back 90 days. The total is {$2900.00} They are refusing to provide a contract because there never WAS a contract and this is fraudulent activity. We have little recourse because the company that is dealing with this issue OWNS the processing company

Consumer Complaint: Originally I got behind after my XXXX XXXX death and I caught the loan up around or about XXXX. In XXXX I asked for a loan modification. They sent me a loan modification packet, I filled it out and sent it in and they came back and said it was not complete, but as it turned out they did not send me a complete packet. I completed the packet and sent it to them on XX/XX/XXXX. We have the receipt for the fax but could not get it to download. I had XXXX on or about XX/XX/XXXX and told the law firm handling the foreclosure, they told me they would have to talk with M & T bank and get back with me, but they never did. Then they informed me that there was not enough time for the modification as they had scheduled the foreclosure sale for XX/XX/XXXX. I then asked for a payoff so that I could sell the house and not go thru foreclosure as I had a buyer and I had quite a bit of equity, however, they kept giving me to different people and never would give me a payoff until it was too late to close on my house deal and it went to the foreclosure sale. However, it was not purchased at the sale and I reached out again and told them I had a buyer and could close, but again they just kept sending me back and forth to different people and then said there was nothing they could do. A friend of mine actually called the head of mortgages at M & T Bank, but she would not help either.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 we were notified of fraudulent activity with our savings account. An unauthorized individual set up an online banking profile and withdrew {$2500.00} in funds via a XXXX account set up in my name through the use of my stolen Social Security number. We froze and changed the account. The next week the same individual hacked our checking and charged {$1000.00} to XXXX and {$20.00} to XXXX. We closed and froze the checking account. As well as an account in our sons name. We have frozen our credit reports on XX/XX/XXXX but learned that on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX soft inquiries were made by XXXX and XXXX XXXX. Both banking institutions have sent me letters telling me of rejected attempts to set up credit in my name due to insufficient identification. Please apprehend this individual.

Consumer Complaint: M & T Bank has been freezing my account for the past XXXX weeks. I've spoken to several of their associates and every time everything stays the same. In order for me to use my XXXX XXXX to make a purchase, the bank has to approve it first. I have done everything they want me to do including, the opening of on-line banking ( which I did not want ) and a back to back fraud alert. Still, I can't use my debit card. I never had any issues with either The People 's Bank or M & T in concerns with fraud. Right now, I'm beside myself. Thank you
