Consumer Complaint: I have applied and received assistance to bring my mortgage current. After my forbearance period I advised M & T that I applied for New York State Homeowners Assistance Fund. My account was approved and the balance has been Paid. However M & Ts single point of contact team keeps calling saying its an attempt to collect a debt and stating they have to go over options with me. I advise the representative that I am current and she confirmed that she see this information. She said well how are you going to pay for XX/XX/2023, has your income changed will you need to explore other options like a short sale. I was very upset and felt that M & T is harassing me and integrating me. I immediately call my non fee attorney and she suggested that I do this because they have a history of wrongfully calling and harassing clients.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I was discharged after receiving hospital care at XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, XXXX XXXX. As I was checking out, I had to pay my hospital bill, as well as my hospital cafe bill. These were done in two separate transactions. When it came time to pay the food bill, the total amount was XXXX XXXX XXXX ( about XXXX USD ). The hospital instead charged me in USD, charging nearly {$5000.00} in excess of the amount that I was supposed to be charged to my debit card. The hospital soon realized the mistake and promised to fix it. I also submitted a claim with my bank, M & T bank, about the fraudulent charge. I submitted the receipt, as well as emails and texts with the doctor in which he acknowledged the problem, and promised to help fix it. Ultimately, M & T bank denied my claim, as they said the hospital was telling them the charge was not fraudulent. This was in direct opposition to what I was told. The food bill for a hospital stay in XXXX being XXXX USD is not a possibility. Menu is attached to show the cost of food items- over a four day hospital stay I had accrued a bill of XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX, but doing the same in USd would've taken months, as all food options were very inexpensive. Despite saying they would help me, XXXX XXXX hospital has kept my nearly XXXX USD, claiming it is not a fraudulent charge. They have committed fraud against me and robbed me of a massive amount of money, and my bank is being no help in recovering the funds. M & T is claiming the XXXX USD charge was to pay my hospital bill. This is false, as you will see in my submitted evidence that I paid my hospital bill ( XXXX USD plus 3.5 % credit card fee ). I am also submitting credit card bill to show I paid the hospital medical bill on my credit card, and the debit charge was separate, and fraudulent. You will see in attached bill I paid my XXXX USD hospital bill ( XXXX + credit card processing fee ) on XX/XX/2023 via credit card at XXXX XXXX local time. The fraudulent charge of XXXX occurred later, at XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ). This was outside of hospital financial office operating hours, so it does not even make sense that this charge could've been for my hospital bill. See attached documents for these two separate charges to see why one was for the hospital bill, and the other a fraudulent charge at a not agreed upon amount.

Consumer Complaint: Worked for a bank now owned by M & T Bank. Requested in XX/XX/2023 that M & T Pension Services send me my funds of {$190000.00} so I could put them in my rollover IRA account. I requested that the funds be disbursed on XX/XX/2023. On Tuesday XX/XX/2023 I received the funds. However, the check was made out to XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX and not XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. I am still waiting for the reissued check. I call the service center weekly to find out the status of my check. They claim it was mailed on XX/XX/2023. To date I have not received the check. They will not let me talk to a supervisor nor expedite the new check. I planned to invest these funds in a 1 year XXXX 5.25 %. I have lost {$830.00} in interest income by not receiving the check. I have lost all hope of receiving these funds and ask for your assistance in helping me procure the funds and the interest I have lost due to M & T 's mistake.

Consumer Complaint: M & T Bank acquired control of XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, I continue to bank with M & T Bank. I had a saving account with M & T Bank for over 16 years. I had a secured credit card with M & T Bank and I completed all payments on-time and paid off the card. On XX/XX/XXXX I applied a secured loan with M & T Bank during the process M & T Bank used deception, fraud, and manipulation to obtain a credit report and then they denied me the loan on XX/XX/XXXX. ( Three days after completing the application ). M & T personal saving account, ending with XXXX with a balance of {$2500.00} as collateral for the loan. I pledged my saving accounts to secure the loan for {$2500.00}. I had the account for 6 months and I only received XXXX ( XXXXXXXX XXXX interest monthly on my {$2500.00} saving account ) On XX/XX/XXXX I applied a secured loan with M & T Bank. M & T Bank representative asked me, What was I using the loan for? I explained them I was using the loan to pay off a bill at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, or otherwise tuition. On XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX XXXX, M & T Bank started questioning me about the loan. How many years you completed at XXXX XXXX? I told them I have XXXX XXXX and I working on my XXXX certificate at the University. Then M & T Bank said, we do not provide loans on tuition. They suggested I use XXXX XXXX. Then they denied me the loan. WHY ARE THEY QUESTIONING ME ON A SECURE LOAN? The on XX/XX/XXXX, M & T Bank representative suggested I request a debt consolidation Loan instead. She said, I had better chance of getting the loan. Therefore requiring me to complete another loan application. I was denied the loan. She said, there is something wrong on your credit report. My credit score is XXXX and I paid an M T Bank credit card on time. I continue to pay my auto loan, credit cards and other bills regularly. I have worked at the same job for XXXX years ; in addition, I have a second job. I co-own my house with my cousin and I have lived in since XXXX. The mortgage is paid regularly.

Consumer Complaint: I'm XXXX and retired on XXXX. I've been having trouble with M & T bank for some time now. I will try to make this as short as possible. 1. A few years ago I had to file bankruptcy for my account with M & T. 2. Last year the bankruptcy was done. 3. M & T filed a sheriff sale on me. The amount they wanted me to pay to stop the sheriff sale and have my loan modified was the amount paid to them from the bankruptcy. 4. I received a phone call from a man identifying he was with M & T. He knew my account details and told me how much to send M & T to do the modification. 5. I sent the payments to the address, person, and made payable to M & T. 6. I made these payments for about 6 months and I then had a paper stuck on my mailbox from a realtor saying my home was in foreclosure. 7. I called M & T customer service in New York. After being on hold for quite some time the woman came back and told me I was going to be evicted because I didn't respond to the sheriff sale notification. I explained everything and she said there was nothing I could do. 8. I contacted the XXXX XXXX XXXX and the referred me to XXXX XXXX XXXX and was assigned an attorney. 9. M & T denied any monies were ever paid to them from me or the bankruptcy. 10. I sent them copies of all my documents and money orders. My attorney also gave them copies. 11. The other day the sheriff served me with ejection papers, I contacted my attorney and he said that M & T has no intention of working with me. I asked to buy my home from them for what was owed on it but they don't want to work with me and my attorney said I might not have any options. 12. There has got to be something I can do to keep my home that my Dad built in the late 1950 's. Well that's basically my situation in a nutshell. I feel that M & T has been harassing me and lying to me for years. I'm not sure if that would fall under elderly abuse of any kind or not but I am emotionally and mentally fatigued and my health is going down hill over the worrying I'm under over this. Consumer Complaint: I applied for NH Homeowner Assistance Fund ( HAF ) on XX/XX/XXXX ( I previously had help from them on XX/XX/XXXX to pay my mortgage ). On XX/XX/XXXX my application went into review. XXXX came around and it was still in review so i contacted HAF to see the status of my case. I was informed that I was approved, but M & T bank, my mortgage holder failed to fill out the amount past due on the V Record, causing it to fail. I have been calling weekly, both M & T and HAF and the same thing. XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX twice M & T sent failing ( missing information ) V Records to HAF. HAF keeps telling me that they have been prepared to pay ( now including XXXX payment ) since XXXX, but M & T is keeping me from receiving my right to a federal grant. M & T has since been sending me foreclosure letters/default letters. I feel like they are trying to get me to take a higher percent mortgage redo because mine is only at 3.4 % right now. Everytime I speak with M & T now they record me saying I can not bring my account current today. I know M & T knows how to fill out the V Record correctly because they have already received payment from HAF for me. I feel M & T is being unethical and trying to strong arm us. Please help, I have already put in a complaint to the NH banking Department, which sent me to The NY state Department of financial services, which has now sent me to here.
