Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I was assessed 5 OD fees in the amount of XXXX a piece by M & T bank for 3 ATM withdrawals and 2 Debit card transactions. I have banked with almost every institution and never in my life have I ever received an OD free for a Debit card transaction. Not only that but, i did these transactions prior to signing an authorization for giving M & T Bank permission to allow ATM withdrawals and debit card transactions that would result in possible OD fees. I feel I should be refunded the total fees the fees are more than all the transactions combined. Since I opened my account I have never had an OD fee until now and I never received a fee when my account went negative accidentally from a debit card transaction until now. I spent XXXX dollars at XXXX and XXXX cents at XXXX XXXX and it cost me XXXX dollars to do so. I have tried to rectify this situation with M & T directly with no success. Hopefully you can mediate to get them to reverse the fees as a one time courtesy and also since again the acknowledgement what done after I had already processed these transactions.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 my mortgage transferred from XXXX to M & T Bank, the transferred escrow amount was {$14000.00} per XXXX transfer statement but M & T is unable to provide breakdown of where the escrow money went? Their total is lot less than XXXX and they are not providing breakdown of transferred escrow. M & T 1098 has escrow section which is showing amounts paid after XX/XX/XXXX and most of the funds as Miscellaneous, also the refund is counted twice and has double entry yet I received only once. There are huge mistakes on their numbers but they are not answering my concerns via messaging and are very rude over the phone. Please help me.

Issue: Problem with customer service

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/19 I went through the drive through service at M & T Banks XXXX and XXXX Branch and submitted a check number XXXX for my checking account ending in XXXX for {$940.00} and a deposit slip for {$840.00} of this money to be deposited in cash into my checking account ending in XXXX and when I received the receipt from teller Ms. XXXX XXXX my {$840.00} was not made available to me when I asked that the funds be made available she stated that she couldn't and stated her boss Mr. XXXX XXXX agreed. So I went inside the bank and her boss reiterated this to me stating this was the banks procedure that I had to wait until midnight to have access to my money. So I told him this was not correct and asked for all my paperwork back and told him I would take the transaction to the XXXX and XXXX Branch where I opened up the accounts. Mr. XXXX then said he would sign the check to give Ms. XXXX the ok this time but in the future I would have to wait until midnight to gain access to my money. When I contacted the XXXX branch I was told by Ms. XXXX that the Branch Manager Ms. XXXX XXXX was not available but I could write to the Regional Manager Mr. XXXX XXXX and Ms. XXXX would forward the letter to him via email and she said she did not have any other contact information to give me on Mr . XXXX. On XX/XX/19 I wrote the letter to Mr . XXXX which was emailed to him by the XXXX Branch and to date I have not heard from him, although Ms. XXXX said the letter was emailed to him and a copy was sent to Ms XXXX. I also sent a message to customer service on XX/XX/19 and it was deleted from the system, I also spoke with Ms. XXXX a supervisor at the Customer Service department and she was very sympathetic but limited as to what she could do other than document my concerns and maybe someone would call me. I am very concerned that I am being denied access to my money and no one seems to care for today this issue has not been addressed so I would appreciate your help in correcting this matter so that I can go to this branch which is very near my home and make these transactions so that I have access to my money, which I always had in the past even at this location.

Consumer Complaint: Since XX/XX/XXXX, over-payment of escrow account, where M & T Bank refused to credit mortgage account and pay down principal as requested numerous times over the phone. Only attaching a note on my bill, " ... Our records indicate that M & T has sent you a refund check that you have not cashed yet. Check # XXXX, dated, XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$220.00} ... '' ; and I just read this, on or about XX/XX/XXXXas I recall, I spoke with someone in XX/XX/XXXX, where they told me they applied this to my principal per a phone conversation back where I exclaimed, this should have been done back in XX/XX/XXXX, and the customer service representative said it was! Again speaking in another phone call in XX/XX/XXXX where M & T, stated over the phone, they had applied the over-payment to principal, yet here it is XX/XX/XXXX -- and the above message has not been removed from my monthly bills. Has monies been wrongfully misplaced on purpose? How many more customers had their overpayments not cashed and given the option to have credit to escrow/principal paid instead? Is this a violation of the FHA/HUD Rules & Reg.? Someone was lied to, and can be backed-up to that effect, including any mishandling of funds, as the amount of mortgage payment should be less than {$1500.00} per month .... Please enforce the correct payment amount, as anyone who studies math, knows numbers do not lie. Escrow is knowable, especially since the numbers for the year XX/XX/XXXX were released and M & T did nothing to correct monthly payment amounts. The false amount placed in escrow by M & T is fraud. Including since they're raising the monthly payment amount they state I am short in the escrow, which is less than the amount they still owe in back principal. The shortage amount for XX/XX/XXXX, was about $ 170+/-, and where M & T raised monthly payment amount this year. Please slap them with a fine per the rules, credit my account back principal, and re-calculate actual payment amount as ESCROW TAX AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN RELEASED FOR THE XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX, and is knowable down to the XXXX, where I should be paying less than $ 1500/month ; M & T is charging, {$1500.00} -- which is more than previous year, and where if principal had been credited as they said they did, what would that amount be today? Per the XX/XX/XXXX bill amount was {$1500.00}, and where they did not credit the $ XXXXwhich would have been a reduced payment amount. Please credit from XX/XX/XXXX and using the TVM~Time Value of Money equations, recalculate new principal amount with above applied credit and supply a new escrow to establish the correct payment amount due for per month for the year XX/XX/XXXX. Not withstanding anything less than a fine, and a credit of interest per both federal and California State Laws for wrongful mishandling of escrow balances and defrauding monthly payment amounts.

M & T Bank transferred our home loan to XXXX XXXX XXXX without properly notifying us of this change. The letter addressed to us is dated for XX/XX/XXXX. All information I am finding online states we should have received notification of at least 16 days prior to the transfer. I still have my XX/XX/XXXX payment to complete, and I have no understanding of who I am to pay this to. The new company has confirmation in the packet stating how to pay with check, but i do not use checks.

Consumer Complaint: I have an outstanding debt with M & T bank and when I tried calling them they said it was moved to a collection agency and I needed to work with them, Ive never recd a letter but I did get phone calls I asked the agency to send me in written or email my debt it took 3 calls to finally get this letter emailed to me and when I tried calling them to arrange a payment I dont get a call back 1 week later I get a call from the agency ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) they call me during my work hours Ive asked for them to all me after XXXX est time and they never do they only call during the day which I cant take. Ive left several voice mails to this agency after work to have them call me back. Its not right that they only can call while Im at work esp since this is a dent and a private matter for my coworkers not to know. Im looking to resolve this and get it off my credit report

Consumer Complaint: On Saturday XX/XX/19, I needed to access the funds in my savings account in order to put an offer in on a house. I have recently relocated and am in another state that M & T is not located in. I decided to transfer funds from my savings account into my checking account that I have with another bank that is more accessible. I tried to do so online as the website suggests. However I was unable to do so, the website told me to call customer service which was unavailable on the weekends. On Tuesday morning XX/XX/19, I called customer service and they told me there should be no issue. I was able to get further in the process, however when it came time to actually transfer the money, I got the same error message. The representative that was on the phone with me told me that the company flagged it as fraud because of the amount ( {$1400.00} ), but it should be cleared in a couple days and I can make the transfer then. I let the representative know that due to the nature of the situation, I do not have a couple days. They are my funds and I need access to them at this time. I was transferred a couple more times, ultimately speaking with a supervisor who offered to increase the limit ( to {$2900.00} ) that I am able to withdraw from and ATM so I could access my funds that way. When I asked about the fees from using another bank 's ATM, I was told that they can only waive fees assessed by M & T ( This wasn't offered to me, I had to ask for it ). I then let them know that I was not asking to waive fees, I was asking to be reimbursed for fees I have to pay due to M & T blocking my online transaction. The supervisor said there is nothing they could do about that and transferred me to a manager. The manager also told me that there was nothing she could do because it was not due to an M & T error, the fraud alert was supposed to happen. The transaction I made that caused the fraud alert, was made with the instruction from a representative in the online banking department.

Consumer Complaint: One XX/XX/XXXX I made my XX/XX/XXXX mortgage payment in the amount of {$1400.00} to MandT bank. They cashed this check on XX/XX/XXXX which was deducted from my checking account. I have a copy of the check from the bank that shows MandT cashed it as well as my bank statement that shows the withdrawal. MandT reported to the credit agencies, XXXX and XXXX that my mortgage was past 30 days late. I contacted MandT to get this resolved and have not received a resolution. I filed a dispute with XXXX and XXXX and provided proof from my bank and my bank statement that shows the check was cashed 6 days later. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX finalize their dispute which indicated that MandT verified that the information they submitted was correct. I don't believe that XXXX reviewed the documents I mailed in regarding my dispute if so how in good faith could they have accepted the verification from MandT bank. MandT bank clearly falsified this information which has now impacted my credit score.
