Consumer Complaint: This is to report a false advertisement and a mail fraud thru U.S. Postal Service, violations committed by M & t bank. Attachments are an offer to me at my address thru U.S. Postal Services. ( Page 2 ) Get a {$300.00} bonus cash bonus. See page 5 for details. Open a XXXX XXXX account at M & T branch by XX/XX/2019. Maintain an average monthly balance of at least {$10000.00} for the calendar month of XX/XX/2019 and XX/XX/2019. Your {$300.00} cash bonus will be credited by XX/XX/2019. On XX/XX/2019, Mr . XXXX XXXX spent more than an hour calling the center to get a code in order to open this account. On XX/XX/XXXX I called the XXXX to inquire about the {$300.00} bonus, after more than 40 minutes I was told there was no promo code and that I had to go back to the branch. On XX/XX/XXXX about XXXX XXXX I was at the branch asked MrsXXXX XXXX XXXX to talk to the branch manager, she stated the manager is busy and she could help. I informed her that I was closing the account by the XX/XX/2019 but, according to my previous inquiry to the call center, there is an issue with my bonus despite the fact a valid code was given to Mr . XXXX XXXX at the time of the opening the account. I presented her with a copy of the offer ; she spent about an Hour talking, I suppose to XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX NY, XXXX who at one point alleged a fraudulent or suspicious mail offer which I quickly challenged her. Then I was finally told by Mrs. XXXX that everything was escalated and I was assured everything is straightened out, and that she is on the top of it. Next morning Mrs. XXXX left a message at XXXX XXXX to call her exhibit ( page 3- exhibit : A ). When I called she stated the call was to assure me again that she is following up on the issue. I called her back again to remind her XX/XX/XXXX is the date. On XX/XX/XXXX I had to spend about half an Hour ( see calls attachment ) on the phone with Mrs. XXXX and also the branch manager regarding this, finally I alert them both, in an event the {$300.00} is not in the account by the XX/XX/XXXX the bank is in violation and that I would have no choice but to report to regulators. Mrs. XXXX, who had ignored me in the past, condescendingly stated : THAT IS YOUR PREROGATIVE. As of today, I have kept the account only open to receive the advertised bonus ; the {$300.00} has not been credited, but an amount of {$24.00} has been deducted for a service charge. The amount of time I have spent on this clearly shows many inconsistencies which substantiate intentional fraud on the part of M & T bank which unfortunately makes a bad name for the banking industry. Sincerely,

Consumer Complaint: My mortgage was sold to M & T bank without my knowledge in XX/XX/2019. XXXX failed to keep me informed of the sales. I called XXXX for months in an attempt to pay them and I was told that there " was a problem with my bank app, someone will get back with you ''. Finally, in XX/XX/2019 I was told by a XXXX employee on one of my many calls that my loan had been sold. I immediately requested a copy of the letter they claim to have sent me. I then confirmed that they had incorrectly recorded my business mailing address, which could be why I never received any kind of notice of the sale ... Never mind that they had 3 different email addresses on record that they failed to use to contact me. After multiple requests I finally received a written notice that my loan had been sold via email on XXXX and because I now had a name and number for my new mortgage company I called right away. The man I spoke with verified that M & T had my correct email, and home addresses and a XXXX XXXX XXXX use for business ( they were one digit off actually ). He gave no reason for why M & T Had not tried to reach me. When I asked for a loan number, he said customer service would reach out. They sent a letter that I recieved at the house today, XX/XX/XXXX, dated XX/XX/XXXX. The letter is saying I'm now in default. This is the first correspondence from M & T with any info like a loan number. Last week I got an invite to sign up for on line banking with M & T. There was no way to make a payment without a loan number. The XXXX XXXX loan number was not working. Today XX/XX/XXXX I finally have the ability to make a payment on my loan.

Consumer Complaint: The beginning of XX/XX/2019 my work computer was hacked with severe viruses. My bank accounts were compromised before our IT Dept could address and fix the issue. This resulted in several issues with getting fraudulently funds returned to my accounts. This issue in particular has been on-going with M & T Bank since XX/XX/XXXX. After reporting the fraudulent charges I was told that I would receive an Affidavit in the mail and to return this to the bank. The closest branch to where I live is over 1 hour away. When I finally received the letter and affidavit from M & T Bank for signature and return the letter was dated XX/XX/2019 with a return to M & T Bank date of not later than XX/XX/2019 - I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS LETTER UNTIL XX/XX/XXXX ( why did they wait so long to mail this paperwork to me??? I phone the bank daily advising i still hadn't received and they assured me it was mailed ) which I immediately reviewed and noticed that out of 6 disputed transactions, they bank ONLY sent me affidavit 's for 5 of the 6 transactions. I signed the 5 affidavits and returned them by fax to M & T 's Fraud department fax number on XX/XX/XXXX and then again on XX/XX/XXXX - all of which included a letter from my employer 's IT Support company explaining the computer hack/virus problem. When I phone M & T Bank AGAIN on XX/XX/XXXX I was informed that they did not receive any of my documents that were faxed on XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX. I again faxed the documents for a third time that day XXXX XX/XX/XXXX ). As of today, XX/XX/XXXX I have not received any positive feedback or refund from the fraudulent transactions by M & T Bank. Fraudulent transaction list as follows : XX/XX/2019 for {$17.00} via XXXX XX/XX/2019 for {$17.00} via XXXX XX/XX/2019 for {$17.00} via XXXX XX/XX/2019 for {$17.00} via XXXX XX/XX/2019 for {$17.00} via XXXX XX/XX/2019 for {$17.00} via XXXX XXXX value of fraudulent charges : {$100.00}

Consumer Complaint: We updated our mortgage auto payment online and received a letter from the mortgage company in the mail showing our names, address, routing number, account type, and FULL checking account number. All of the information was prominently displayed. No asterisks or hidden symbols to cover any information. I called the company and the mortgage representative said if Im concerned about my mail being stolen that I should purchase a {$15.00} lock box. I spoke to his supervisor and she said that it was a common business practice to display all of the account information for verification purposes. As someone who knows people affected by identity theft, I was appalled.

Consumer Complaint: Today at XXXX California Time I received a call from M & T Bank stating that I need to pay {$960.00} for the month of XXXX mortgage or else I would be charged fees. I explained to this caller that my mortgage was transferred from XXXX XXXX Bank and when the transition happened I was assured by letter that my payment status quo with XXXX XXXX remains the same. I pay my mortgage every two weeks in the amount of {$960.00}. Henceforth, the payment that I made through my XXXX XXXX Account on XX/XX/2019 is the first half payment for the month of XX/XX/2019 and that I am not late. I was told that I should have made this arrangement with them but I was assured that the transition will not affect my agreement with XXXX XXXX. I also made a telephone call before the transition and asked if there is anything I should do but was assured that if I have no changes on my mortgage it will be okey. The mortgage bank information is M & T Bank XXXX XXXX, loan XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX. I have been diligent on my mortgage payment every XXXX weeks through my XXXX XXXX Bill Pay. Although I was transferred to a customer service representative that its been fixed that I am not late and my next payment this XX/XX/XXXX will be applied for the month of XXXX I cant trust their word on this. Please investigate this. Thank you. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, my vehicle was struck by another driver who was trying to complete an illegal U-turn on a four-lane highway. My vehicle was deemed a total loss by my insurance on XXXX XXXX. Since XXXX XXXX, I have made several calls to M and T Bank ( finance company ) regarding assistance with XXXX XXXX XXXX ( my Gap Insurance ). My finance company indicated that after my automobile insurance payment the remaining balance was XXXX. I submitted the information to my gap insurance carrier and they only agreed to pay {$3600.00}. If this was correct, I would still be out of pocket {$3300.00}. In addition, the gap provider known as XXXX XXXX XXXX indicated that I missed several payments that were actually paid. For instance, Gap reported no payments for XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX and XXXX of XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX was paid on XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX was paid on XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX was paid on XX/XX/XXXX I submitted payment history to the Gap carrier, and they are not willing to review it. The Gap insurance advised me that M and T was not accurately applying my payments and indicated that some payments were applied to interest only. In addition, the Gap carrier indicated that I was charged interest for some payments when I shouldnt have been ( as some payments were made during the 10 day grace period ). M and T indicated that the Gap Insurance shorted me {$1600.00} and I've requested documentation from M and T to send back to the Gap carrier but they have not been willing to provide it. I'm requesting that M and T to help me resolve the issue its almost two months. Ive been hung up on, promised call backs that were never received, transferred back and forth, and now I need both parties Gap and the Finance company ( M and T ) to help me resolve the issue and review all appropriate documents.
