Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account information incorrect

Consumer Complaint: I hope this note finds you well. I'm reaching out because I've noticed something weird with my credit report. For my account : Account Name : XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX Account Number : XXXX The collection payment history is inaccurate across all XXXX credit bureaus and I have no proof that this alleged debt belongs to me. Consumer Reporting Agencies are pretty important and should maintain positive accuracy by law. I'd be really grateful if you could check into this for me. Could you send me copies of the statements that show that this collection account is mine and belongs to me? Thank you so much for checking on this for me.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Public record information inaccurate

Consumer Complaint: This communication is in reference to my LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure Report dated XX/XX/2023, Consumer Number XXXX, Case Number XXXX. The item in dispute is the Property Deed Records that LexisNexis is reporting on my LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure Report ( See attached Supporting Document # XXXX ). LexisNexis has previously reinvestigated the Property Deed Records and determined them to be UNVERIFIABLE ( See attached Supporting Documents # XXXX ). Since the Property Deed Records have been previously investigated by LexisNexis and were determined to be UNVERIFIABLE, there is no need to initiate a reinvestigation. Based upon your previous reinvestigation, I kindly request that the Property Deed Records be promptly and permanently removed from my LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure Report. Additionally, LexisNexis is in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act 611 ( a ) ( 5 ) ( B ) and ( C ) which states : ( B ) Requirements Relating to Reinsertion of Previously Deleted Material ( i ) Certification of accuracy of information. If any information is deleted from a consumers file pursuant to subparagraph ( A ), the information may not be reinserted in the file by the consumer reporting agency unless the person who furnishes the information certifies that the information is complete and accurate. ( ii ) Notice to consumer. If any information that has been deleted from a consumers file pursuant to subparagraph ( A ) is reinserted in the file, the consumer reporting agency shall notify the consumer of the reinsertion in writing not later than 5 business days after the reinsertion or, if authorized by the consumer for that purpose, by any other means available to the agency. ( iii ) Additional information. As part of, or in addition to, the notice under clause ( ii ), a consumer reporting agency shall provide to a consumer in writing not later than 5 business days after the date of the reinsertion ( I ) a statement that the disputed information has been reinserted ; ( II ) the business name and address of any furnisher of information contacted and the telephone number of such furnisher, if reasonably available, or of any furnisher of information that contacted the consumer reporting agency, in connection with the reinsertion of such information ; and ( III ) a notice that the consumer has the right to add a statement to the consumers file disputing the accuracy or completeness of the disputed information. ( C ) Procedures to prevent reappearance. A consumer reporting agency shall maintain reasonable procedures designed to prevent the reappearance in a consumers file, and in consumer reports on the consumer, of information that is deleted pursuant to this paragraph ( other than information that is reinserted in accordance with subparagraph ( B ) ( I ) ). LexisNexis failed to provide me with the required 5-day written notice prior to reinserting the previously deleted information ; a very serious violation of the FCRA. What reasonable procedures is LexisNexis taking to prevent the reinsertion of previously deleted information from my FCRA-regulated LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure Report? It is absolutely imperative that my LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure Report be 100 % accurate as LexisNexis ' reporting of incorrect or inaccurate information is defamatory and can have a significant impact on and cause significant harm to my personal and professional reputation and character, creditworthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, and mode of living if left uncorrected. Additionally, it is crucial for LexisNexis to maintain its reputation as a trusted and reliable source of accurate and reliable information to individuals and organizations relying upon its services. Therefore, the prompt removal of the incorrect information from my LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure Report benefits LexisNexis reputation as a trusted and reliable source of accurate and reliable information.

Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Was not notified of investigation status or results

Consumer Complaint: I am having to file another complaint due to not being aware claim XXXX was closed. This complaint is in conjunction with that claim. The claim I filed against LexisNexis was closed due to LexisNexis falsified inaccurate information to CFPB in writing stating an email was sent to me ( XXXX XXXX ) on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX informing due to me ( XXXX XXXX ) not being unable to fully authenticate identity. I received no email on the dated indicated. Accordingly, from XXXX XXXX ( employee of LexisNexis ) DOES NOT send emails. However! XX/XX/XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX confirmed I contacted LexisNexis. This conclude as to why I did not respond to alleged email ; had I received stated correspondence I would have acknowledged. I provided LexisNexis on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX proof of my identity via email ( case # XXXX ) return call for verification that requested documents were received. I was informed received and uploaded to my file. Upon me contacting LexisNexis in XX/XX/XXXXXXXX I was informed I had been forward to their special investigation unit with no explanations as to why ; only to be told I will be contacted in 48 hours. I never received that call. I continue contacting LexisNexis in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX of XXXX. Come XX/XX/XXXXXXXX I contacted repeatedly with sending updated address verification ( case # XXXX ) to still be told I can not be verified and XXXX will contact me in 48 hours. After no longer accepting being ignored and them not caring about I have lost my employment with FEMA due to this inaccurate information I requested for their address so that I could go in person to rectify. I was insulted with a XXXX. I stated I need a physical address. The representative place me on hold ; return to say she did not have an address for the XXXX location. After I stated I will be contacting XXXX and seeking legal representation against LexisNexis I received a call next day from someone by the name of XXXX. XXXX could not tell me why my calls were never return from XXXX ; when asked why was I sent to that department I was informed for legal purposes? And she did not know. XXXX stated this tax lien was still on my credit and she will put in another dispute ; allow 30 days to be completed. I requested a copy of my credit report. I return call back to LexisNexis XXXX XXXX spoke with XXXX XXXX due to I received a credit report file for more than 72 pages that provided numerous pages about my vehicle insurance information? I explain I did not request for a file. I requested for the same report provided to FEMA. XXXX XXXX stated FEMA was provided the same file. I informed that was NOT true and the report FEMA provided to me is not the same. XXXX XXXX stated FEMA provided me from another source. I told him LexisNexis is water stamped and FEMA would not provide me with fraudulent documents. XXXX XXXX still insisted the documents I have is not from LexisNexis and to contact FEMA. I informed him there is NO reason for me to contact FEMA about this causing an embarrassment for myself. Therefore, I am providing that credit report I received from FEMA that was provided by XXXX XXXX! I ask XXXX XXXX again about the email that I alleged received on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX stated LexisNexis ONLY send letters and that I called XXXX XXXX ( case # XXXX )? I asked XXXX XXXX to provide me with the dates I called. I was given XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XX/XX/XXXXXXXX ( case # XXXX ) XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX ( case # XXXX ) and today XXXX, XXXX ( case # XXXX ). Even though I've called more times that's stated ( can provide call log from phone carrier ) these are the only dates provided by LexisNexis with also not all having a case # 's? I informed XXXX XXXX that the state of Ohio does not report to Any of the credit rating bureaus. I informed him LexisNexis went into public records and placed on my report ( I'm sure he knows this ) causing me to lose my job. XXXX XXXX stated LexisNexis research source provided and verified the information was accurate. When ask who is the research source, he stated XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX stated on XXXX XXXX XXXX Common Pleas Courts verified the debt was accurate and I was mail notification the same date stating valid debt owed. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) spoke with XXXX XXXX who overseas in their lien and judgement department at XXXX XXXX within their finance department. I informed XXXX XXXX I was told by LexisNexis representative ( XXXX XXXX ) research source confirmed by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX validated when contacted the tax lien was accurate against me. XXXX XXXX stated NO one contacted their office and NO one in their office verified nor validated anything from LexisNexis ( in her words whoever they are? I had to explain what LexisNexis is and what they do to people ). XXXX XXXX stated on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX release of satisfaction was updated in their data base and LexisNexis would have been able to see by going to their website making their own copy for their file. LexisNexis employee is lied repeatedly causing me emotional distress, loss of my job and had caused me an abundance of financial losses. The employees of LexisNexis as demonstrated repeatedly lack of integrity. I have been lied to as well as lied on. These people have also provided false documentation to CFPB that made it look as though I have fabricated this situation for myself. I have lost my job with FEMA due to LexisNexis false reporting, false information, and falsifying information ; stating XXXX XXXX provided them with the information to cause this anguish in my life. Turn the tables! then all of you who played their role in this issue just MIGHT will be able to understand how I am feeling. ***** to open uploaded document from FEMA will need to enter XXXX

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Information is incorrect

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I submitted a Notice of Dispute and Request to Remove Incorrect Information from my LexisNexis XXXX Report ( XXXX ) to XXXX regarding the incorrect Aliases that LexisNexis is XXXX on my LexisNexis XXXX Report ( See attached Supporting Document # XXXX ). On XX/XX/2023, I submitted a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) complaint ( CFBP Complaint # XXXX ) via the CFPB Consumer Portal regarding the incorrect Aliases that LexisNexis is reporting on my LexisNexis XXXX Report ( See attached Supporting Document # XXXX ). On XX/XX/2023, LexisNexis responded to XXXX Complaint # XXXX with an attached letter titled XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) ( See attached Supporting Document # XXXX ). LexisNexis ' response to my complaint is insufficient. Instead of correcting the incorrect information, LexisNexis attempted to claim that a LexisNexis XXXX Report is NOT a consumer report. LexisNexis response stated : Please note that this concern refers to LexisNexis non-FCRA products. These products are not consumer reports as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA, 15 U.S.C. 1681 et seq. ). They are not permitted to be used to grant or deny credit, make employment decisions, make tenant and housing screening decisions, or any other uses regulated by the FCRA. For these products LexisNexis purchases and resells data collected by outside companies, which cover public records and commercially available data sources, in compliance with applicable federal and state privacy laws. LexisNexis can not make changes to the names XXXX XXXX is disputing. While LexisNexis claims that my LexisNexis XXXX Report is not a consumer report, the definition of a " consumer report '' under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) is broad and includes a wide range of information about individuals that is used by creditors, insurers, employers, and others to make decisions about a person 's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, or other purposes. According to the FCRA, a consumer report is defined as : " A consumer report is any written, oral, or other communication of any information by a consumer reporting agency bearing on a consumers credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living which is used or expected to be used or collected in whole or in part for the purpose of serving as a factor in establishing the consumers eligibility for ( A ) credit or insurance to be used primarily for personal, family, or household purposes ; ( B ) employment purposes ; or ( C ) any other purpose authorized under section 604. '' This definition encompasses various types of information, including credit history, criminal records, employment history, and more, which are typically collected and maintained by consumer reporting agencies. The FCRA imposes certain requirements on these agencies to ensure the accuracy and fairness of the information they provide to creditors, insurers, employers, and others who use consumer reports to make decisions about individuals. Based on the FCRAs definition of a consumer report, my LexisNexis XXXX Report is, in fact, an FCRA-regulated consumer report. Interestingly, after an attempt to claim that a LexisNexis XXXX Report is a non-FCRA product, LexisNexis confusingly proceeded to notify me of my rights under the FCRA. LexisNexis response stated : Under the FCRA, XXXX XXXX has the right to : Request a description of the procedure used to determine the accuracy and completeness of disputed information, including the business name and address, and telephone number if reasonably available, of any furnisher of information contacted. Add a statement to his file disputing the accuracy or completeness of the information. The statement will remain on file and will be furnished to recipients of the file as long as the disputed information is still used ; and Request that LexisNexis furnish notification of the deletion of disputed information or a dispute statement to any person specifically designated by him who has received a LexisNexis consumer report for employment purposes within the past XXXX years or received a LexisNexis consumer report for any other purpose in the past XXXX months ( XXXX months for residents of Colorado, Maryland, and New York ). Why would LexisNexis claim that its LexisNexis XXXX Report is a non-FCRA product and immediately proceed to explain my rights under the FCRA? The incorrect Aliases are still being incorrectly reported on my LexisNexis XXXX Report. This communication is my FOURTH NOTICE to LexisNexis regarding the incorrect Aliases that LexisNexis continues to incorrectly report on my LexisNexis XXXX Report. This information is incorrect because I have NEVER been known as XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, or XXXX XXXXXXXX.
