Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, my landlord requested we set up an account with XXXX and XXXX XXXX and begin covering our own water bill. I did so, and was sent a bill for a {$100.00} deposit. I wrote a check on XX/XX/XXXX, dropped it in a XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX, and went back to my life. A month later, I noticed my checking account appeared low. I noticed an unusual withdrawal of {$900.00} from my checking account. Clicking on the transaction, I could view an image of a check I'd written on XX/XX/XXXX to " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX' for {$100.00} that had been washed and rewritten to " XXXX XXXX '' for {$900.00}. The check had been deposited on XXXX, one day after I attempted to mail it. On XX/XX/XXXX, I went to Chase Bank and filed a Declaration of Unauthorized Endorsement or Altered Item. Chase was very helpful from the start, saying they could clearly see this check had been washed. I submitted the forms and Chase credited my account for the {$900.00}. They explained this was a credit and the depositing bank is responsible for repayment. The depositing bank, they told me, was XXXX. XXXX responded to Chase saying that they set up a claim and were investigating. Now, a month later, Chase has sent me a follow up on my case saying " if we haven't heard anything from the depositing bank within 90 days of the date of your claim submission, we will close your claim and your funds will not be recovered. '' XXXX accepted a clearly fraudulent check and is now unresponsive. I am at risk of losing the {$900.00} credit from Chase, as they will not protect me as a client.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: I tried to close my savings account today with chase, amount appx {$7000.00}. I provided photo id, a chase credit card and showed I could access the chase app. They then tried to send a security code to a phone number not listed under my security contact numbers. They tried again and the same confirmation no came up as opposed to my default cell no. They did this repeatedly putting a restriction on my account. I called chase they could not do anything by phone. Branch manager also called but got nowhere. I need my money today to cover clean up after storm damage but they state their system allows no exceptions and they will not give me my money. At one point they told me to leave the bank, I responded not without my money and they could call the police if they wished. Chase is happy to take my money but not return it.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: Dear Chase XXXX, the account ending in XXXX is not mine, it was fraudulently opened on my behalf. I did not apply for a Chase XXXX XXXX credit card at any time this year. Please do an investigation and remove any balance that occurred on this account. Under certain laws, I am not entitled and/or responsible to pay the debt that occurred on this account ending in XXXX to Chase XXXX which XXXX not mine. Again I did not authorize or verify that this account is mine. Remove the debt that occurred on this already closed account because it is not mine and I do not owe any debt to Chase, for the sole reason that this account is not mine in the first place. It is identity theft. As I am aware, this account is already closed but there is still a balance.

Consumer Complaint: My Chase card was charged for services that were never provided by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) travel company. I have contracted my Chase card representatives many times since XX/XX/XXXX when I discovered that XXXX would not be providing services I had paid for previously. Chase continued to deny reimbursement and although they SAY they contracted XXXX, that is impossible since XXXX has gone into liquidation and lost all funds belonging to customers. Date XXXX was paid {$1300.00} for services with Chase card : XX/XX/XXXX Date I learned XXXX would not provide services ( for XX/XX/XXXX travel ) : XX/XX/XXXX Date I contacted Chase : XX/XX/XXXX Date I received final denial from Chase XXXX XXXX : XX/XX/XXXX Chase DOES promise to honor claims for FUTURE travel yet has failed to do so. I have held this credit card since the early XXXX 's and am a loyal and good customer. Travel was illegal for over a year during pandemic so I could not use travel services I had paid for. Chase claims that the 540 day limit for claims still applies. I know that many card holders, INCLUDING Chase XXXX XXXX customers in my same situation have received refunds from their credit card company. Yet my Chase XXXX XXXX card continues to deny reimbursement.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to ask for your support in obtaining a refund for a trip I previously paid for on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX of {$1900.00} for my 3rd service trip with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was to go to XXXX and the XXXX trip was postponed due to XXXX, it was moved to XXXX, and moved again to XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX we were notified there would be no trips after XXXX. I filed complaints with Chase, even contacting the corporate office. I was told that my complaint exceeded the 540 ( unsure exact number yet in that range ) day rule to dispute a charge. I have since found out that the clock was to start counting when I was notified that the trip would not happen, not when I paid. Thus I am still well within the range to dispute. Chase informed me they follow VISA rules and they have to power to alter. Per Visa on an email to me XX/XX/XXXX, that is not true and each financial institution sets its own criteria. Also, on a side note, responses from Chase corporate were via phone calls. I have never received a letter even though they verified that a letter was being sent to my friend XXXX XXXX whom I gave credit card charging privileges on my account when we travel together as she doesn't own a credit card. Many XXXX travelers have received refunds. There is travel insurance on our credit cards, and if this doesnt fall under an issue with travel it certainly is covered under paying for a service not received. I just turned XXXX old and I can not afford such a loss, plus I expected the service trip to XXXX would be my last. I am hearing from others via a support group that was started for We XXXX XXXX Travelers who lost all their money that you have been helpful and refunds are being issued. I am grateful for your help.

Consumer Complaint: I had posted an advertisement on XXXX looking for a roommate. A person named XXXX XXXX ( XXXX, XXXX ) reached out to me via email that he is looking for accommodation for his daughter and is interested in it on XX/XX/XXXX. He mentioned that his daughter XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) would be moving in XX/XX/XXXX and sent her ID proof ( passport ). I had requested an amount of XXXX $ for the rent ( XXXX for XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX rent - XXXX $ ). He sent me a check for XXXX $ via email on the same day and asked to do a mobile deposit and I did and asked me to deduct the rent amount ( XXXX $ ) and send the remaining amount ( XXXX $ = XXXX $ - XXXX $ ) via Chase XXXX to a specific contact number of XXXX ( XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX the check got cleared and I received the funds. On the same day, I sent XXXX $ through XXXX to the above number. On XX/XX/XXXX I sent the remaining XXXX $ through XXXX to the same number. On XX/XX/XXXX the check for XXXX $ was recalled back and the funds were removed from my account. I called Chase and they mentioned that the depositor had requested for the check to be recalled. I don't know how Chase permits to recall checks that are already cleared. I have filed a police report in XXXX, Washington and the investigation in ongoing.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I purchased a round trip flight from XXXX to XXXX for my wife XXXX XXXX XXXX and myself through Chase Travel in the amount of {$1100.00} departing XX/XX/2022 and returning XX/XX/XXXX on XXXX XXXX. Trip ID XXXX. Departing flight info : Trip confirmation - XXXX Agency Reference XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX Returning flight info : flight confirmation XXXX Agency Reference XXXX Flight XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX I then had to cancel the flight through Chase Travel who told me I will receive a flight credit in the full purchase price of {$1100.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX I used {$250.00} of the credit to book a flight for my wife to XXXX leaving {$900.00} remaining in credit. I am now attempting to purchase a round trip flight for my wife and I to XXXX from XXXX and Chase Trace has not been cooperative at all. I have spent at least 6 hours explaining the situation to them in the past week and I currently have been on hold for 55 minutes of a XXXX call that is still ongoing. I have made multiple calls in the past week leading to people just hanging up and not calling back or transferring me to random people that have no history of the situation forcing me to start over again until I am hung up on. In the most recent phone calls they have told me to call XXXX XXXX instead of Chase Travel to use my flight credit. When calling XXXX XXXX they let me know my credit is only for {$250.00} and its only for XXXX as I was not on the trip. The trip that I booked on my card through chase travel. Since attempting to make the trip the cost of the trip has increased in addition to the several hours spent trying to obtain my credit. Chase has admitted to me having booked a round trip for two people and when asked how the credit can only be for XXXX they tell me to call XXXX. Then XXXX will send me back to Chase.
