Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX for {$1000.00} A bill payment from XXXX XXXX paid Chase Credit Card by mistake and the bank XXXX XXXX allowed the payment to be sent a second time on XX/XX/XXXX for the same amount {$1000.00}. I've been trying every since to get my money back to this company account for XXXX XXXX. Each time I send them documentation they keep saying they need more. I've sent them everything they've asked for and today I lost it on them. I'm getting in to XXXX pay months and this is still not resolved and my money has not been returned. I have and show the credit on my Chase XXXX card and I don't know what else I can do. They've been sent my bank statement showing the duplicate payment, a voided check of the account it came out of. A report from the bank showing the Bill payments that occured and the account it came out of and a letter from the bank of the errors of the duplicate payment. When this gets resolved I'll be cancelling this credit card, this has done me in with them not willing to correct this. It's to the point of fraud in my opinion.

Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: On XXXX, I paid a regular monthly mortgage payment ( listed on their web page ) as a ( Minimum Payment Due ) instead of a ( Next Regular Payment Due ) ahead of time - to be applied for the month of XX/XX/XXXX - Instead Chase Bank applied the payment to the Loans ( Principal Balance ) or note as a ( Principal Prepayment ), without my written permission, or notification, as ( written in the Loans Note ) under the ( Terms of Prepayments ) of the Original Loan with XXXX XXXX in XXXX : I had no problems with XXXX XXXX pre-paying my ( regular monthly mortgage payments ) ahead of time, in fact at ( 1 ) point I had prepaid my regular monthly payments nearly ( 1 ) year in advance : Chase has a Faulty, if not Intentional Payer Online System or Webpage, that does not apply a prepaid ( Regular Monthly Mortgage Payment Early ), instead their ( Bait & Switch System ) Automatically takes your ( Minimum Payment Due ) or your ( Regular Monthly Mortgage Payment Due ) - & applies it as A Pre-Paid ( Loan Principal Payment ) without you knowing & without Chase Bank asking your Permission to do so at the ( Time of Payment ) : You later find out your ( Payment has not Posted ) correctly, & then you have to Beg by Telephone to get Chase Bank to apply your payment properly. With excuses from Chase Bank like, I ( the Borrower ) was short on their Escrow Account, so they applied the early ( Monthly Mortage Payment ) to the Escrow Fund, instead of applying the payments according to the terms of the Note : Yet Chase Bank has a separate online column or Button to Prepay your Principal or Escrow early if you choose to, So how can they mistakenly take your ( Regular Monthly Mortgage Payment ) & apply it to the Loans Principal without your Knowledge, or Approval, or by Your Online Action, then make you call them and wait for approval to correct the transaction? When Chase Bank Broke the Terms of the Note, & the Servicing Agreement, intentionally, by an illegal algorithm, or system, designed to apply ( Regular Monthly Mortgage Payments ) to your ( Principal ) without your ( Knowledge ), then ( Refusing by Phone ) to leave a Voicemail, concerning, if they will decide to apply your Mortgage Payment Properly in a timely manner in the Future? Are, they ( Chase Bank ) making money on your payments applied to the ( Principal ) rather than towards your ( Monthly Mortgage Payment ), or by stalling to apply the money properly for days or weeks, on end? Note : By reducing the balance of Your Mortgage Loan, rather than using the Money for your Monthly Mortgage Payments, Chase Bank is reducing their, portfolio exposure by paying Loans off sooner : Screen shots are available of the Chase Mortgage Web Page- Please just ask Chase to offer their Facts of My Loans Web Page - Today on XXXX Thanks for your time : )

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX Chase bank claimed to have sent the title of my car through the USPS without a tracking number. On XX/XX/XXXX I still had not received my title and called Chase back and requested a new one, and they explained it would be sent to me overnight on XX/XX/XXXX. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I called Chase and asked them about the status of the title. Chase explained that they sent out the request for the title on XX/XX/XXXX and it could take up to 30-days to process. The car registration in XXXX expires on XX/XX/XXXX and because I moved from the State of XXXX to the State of XXXX, I no longer have a XXXX driver 's license. I can't register the car in XXXX without my driver 's license, and I can't register the car in XXXX without the title. Because of Chase 's mistake, I now ca n't drive my car, I ca n't drive to work, and they refuse to expedite the issue. This has not only taken away valuable time but has taken away my car and the ability to work and earn money.

Consumer Complaint: I have had a checking account with Chase that I use off and on for several years now. In XX/XX/2023 it did not have any balance attached to it for but suddenly got hit with a {$12.00} " Monthly Service Fee '' which would have become and overdraft fee if I hadn't caught it. Chase reversed the fee but it should be illegal for banks to charge fees like this. I have closed my account with Chase.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I was alerted by my landlord that I hadn't paid my rent for the prior month ( {$2200.00} ). Knowing I had, I looked up the check on Chase 's website and sent the photos of the deposited check to the landlord. They pointed out that it was not their endorsement on the back. I immediately called Chase Fraud Services and explained the situation. They gave me a " Declaration of Unauthorized Endorsement or Altered Item '' form to fill out and have signed by the landlord stating they hadn't endorsed the check. I completed the form, had it signed by the landlord, and returned it to a local branch at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for them to send to Chase Fraud Services on the same day ( XX/XX/2023 ). Having not heard from them since I brought them the form, I called today to check on the status. They informed me they were still waiting on the Declaration form ( the one I had dropped off at their branch months before ). I went in to try to figure out what happened. I spoke with the same woman who had helped me previously and she showed me that she had faxed the form on the same day and received a confirmation number. She called the claims department and they said they can't find it. I asked if they can look given the confirmation number the banker had. They said they couldn't and that I'd again have to go get the form signed by the landlord. This, to me, represents two institutional-level failures- cashing a check to the incorrect person, and the mismanagement and/or destruction of relevant materials for a fraud investigation.

Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I received a call from a Chase representative, from the Chase customer service number, saying that my account had been compromised. They had identifying information about my bank account, information Chase is responsible for protecting. They used that information and the fact that they were on Chases phone number to convince me that I needed to initiate a wire transfer reversal to stop funds from leaving my account. I took these steps, under the advisement of the Chase representative, to protect {$9200.00}. Except it was someone who had spoofed Chases phone number and was actually wiring the money to themselves. I immediately went into a Chase branch in XXXX, Texas, and asked them to stop the transfer, but it was too late. They put in a swift recall request with XXXX XXXX to mark the transfer as fraud, but I learned on XX/XX/2023 that it was unsuccessful and the money had left the account it was wired to. Neither Chase nor XXXX XXXX have offered any solutions other than asking the person who took the money - a scammer operating under Chases name and phone number, with my personal information at hand - to give it back to me. I would like Chase to take responsibility for the lack of care they have taken with their own phone number, as well as my personal information, and take additional steps to restore my money.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Consumer Complaint: I was sent a Chase Freedom credit card on XXXX XXXX that I did not apply for. About a week later, on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a call from Chase bank about a recent charge to my account. They stated that the charge was made on XX/XX/XXXX at the amount of {$1200.00}. I immediately alerted the chase bank representative that I did not apply for this card and whoever opened this account was not me. She closed the account and alerted it as fraud. I asked the representative how this person was able to use the card if the card itself was sent to me. She let me know that XXXX XXXX was used to make the purchase, so they did not need the physical card. I was urged to run a credit report to look over all of my information and make sure it is correct. I ran a report on XX/XX/XXXX. Im doing so, I found a phone number associated with my credit that was in fact NOT my phone number and a random one I have never seen. I disputed the phone number on my credit report through the bureau ( XXXX ). I would also like to note that I in fact have a XXXX account, so I am supposed to be alerted every time my SSN is used. When I called them on XX/XX/XXXX to inform them of this fraudulent card issued under my name and information, they did not see any record of it. When asking how this could happen, the XXXX representative told me that I could possibly have been victim of Fictitious Identity Theft where my last 4 SSN were used to create the account but the other 5 numbers couldve been someone elses or random numbers. I am unsure if that is exactly the case but, I was instructed by the representative to this website to file a police report.
