Consumer Complaint: I purchased a XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX using my Chase Freedom credit card in XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed an issue with the display and contacted the manufacturer for diagnosis. After some troubleshooting, the manufacturer informed me that the issue could not be covered as it was out of the warranty period. I raised a claim with Chase card benefit services and provided a detailed list of documents including the warranty document, invoices, credit card statements, and repair invoice from an authorized service center. After several days of back-and-forth where I submitted all the requested information, they closed the claim saying that the issue was not covered under the manufacturers warranty. I followed up with documentation from the manufacturer showing that it was indeed covered under warranty. However, I received a generic response from Chase saying that they would get back to me in 7 days. They did not reach back and when I tried to contact them again, they ignored me.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Charged too much interest
Consumer Complaint: I called Chase Bank after i realized they were charging me interest on balances for daily purchases even though these purchases were being paid off in full each month. However i received a loan from my credit card the year prior for 0 % interest and 0 payment for 1 year ending XX/XX/2023. Instead of applying my payments to my daily purchases chase bank was choosing to apply it to the loan on my account. This resulted in me being charged {$80.00} a month interest over the 12 months for my daily purchases. I explained that these monthly payments should be applied to my daily purchases and not the loan as it is not yet due. The customer service rep hung up on me.

Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Consumer Complaint: Promotional offer was being offered and advertised by JP Morgan Chase Bank to open a NEW Checking account and have an Electronic Deposit made within 90 days to receive a {$300.00} Chase Checking Bonus. I open the account on XX/XX/2023 and received confirmation with a tracking number XXXX. I was provided both a routing number XXXX XXXX and an account number XXXX. I immediately scheduled to have my Social Security check deposited to this account in order to receive the bonus. SS notified me that the first deposit would be made on XX/XX/2023 well within the 90 day period to receive the bonus. I was even notified by Chase that I had until XX/XX/2023 to receive the Bonus dated XX/XX/2023. On XX/XX/2023 I accessed the Chase.com Web site to realize that the account was not established and that my SS Check that I depend on was not deposited to this account. I also checked the SSA.GOV website to verify that the check was sent by SS to the New Chase account. In contacting Chase customer service I was put in touch with XXXX a supervisor in the Customer service area. XXXX informed me that the checking account was cancelled due to NO deposits in 60 days. She also informed me that a SS check was received by Chase for the above account but could not be deposited since the account was cancelled by Chase. Her only solution to me was to open a NEW Checking account at that time where they would deposit the SS check but it would NOT be eligible for the Bonus that was promised. The purpose of opening the new account was to take advantage of the Bonus of {$300.00} that was to be deposited within 15 days of the electronic deposit. I advised XXXX to return the check to Social Security of which I have to now correct for my XXXX payment. There is NO mention in all of the Chase literature that I have that indicates that an account would be cancelled if there were NO deposit in 60 days. Everything indicated 90 days including SS Checks. I believe that I had been duped by this false advertisement and now left with determining where my SS Check is. I followed their procedure as advertised and now cheated out of the $ XXXX bonus as well. I believe that they could have reopened the original account and honored the {$300.00} bonus as advertised but they refuse to make any correction or offer any advise to correct this besides opening up a new account. I appreciate a resolution to this on Chase 's part with dcoffering me the {$300.00} as advertised and promised. I can be reached by XXXX Mail at XXXX or physical address of : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, PA XXXX Thank you, Respectfully, XXXX XXXX XXXX

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals
Consumer Complaint: I recently opened a business account with Chase bank. I deposited three checks made out to my business in the past week. Chase has now frozen all funds in my account, placed holds on my deposits, and is saying they are fraud and trying to close my account without releasing all my funds from the checks. I am now out {$30000.00} and my customers and business partners are also out money while waiting for us to have the money to do jobs. Chase is saying they are unable to verify the checks due to not having a verified number in their system for one of them, and calling two numbers for the other two checks that dont exist for the business that wrote the checks. We have tried asking Chase to call the numbers for both of these business that are listed on XXXX, their website, and we have confirmed numbers for, and they refuse to call those numbers to verify the checks saying Its not verified in their systems. Chase has told us we can not do anything else about this, we will not have access to our money and the account will remain frozen.

Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: mortgage transferred from XXXX to chase, involuntarily ... paying bi-weekly payment with chase but chase will not honor payments until a full monthly payment is satisfied. this defeats the purpose of doing a bi-weekly payment. according to a chase representative, I have satisfied payments until the first of XXXX. I have reached out to both companies but either one are able to help with my issue. Chase 's policy is to the disadvantage of the consumer. They are using my one bi-weekly payment before I am being given credit into my account.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Chase Bank decided to Close both my Checking and Credit Bank accounts for nor valid reason. I called the bank to see how I can solve the problem, the department response was that they do after conducted a review of accounts. I for sure don't represent any regulatory, legal, or reputational problems to the bank for them to close my accounts. I have a great credit history, and all my life matter are stellar. At this point I don't see any justification to the bank decisions to close my accounts as unfair, predatory, and braking the rule of good banking practices. The XXXX failed to give me valid reason. The bank is living me running to figure out how to pay my credit card balance. I researched the problem online and it seems to me that Chase bank had a 35 % spike in closing consumer accounts. So it's high time that a consumer protecting agency steps in and stop this unfair practice.
