Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Charged too much interest
Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern : I have two credit cards with Chase. In XX/XX/XXXX, I have recently learned about XXXX interest benefits on credits card going back to XX/XX/XXXX, as per SCRA. I submitted my AD orders and got both cards down to 4 %. My issues are, XXXX XXXX was open in XXXX and XXXX XXXX was open in XXXX. I served from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, got released, and join the XXXX the same day. On XX/XX/XXXX, I volunteered for AD orders and am still on orders today. ( XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Since learning about XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, I send them my most recent orders from XX/XX/XXXX. Chase has honored the interest benefits starting only from XX/XX/XXXX. Today, I sent them my XXXX showing my AD service from XXXX and was informed that those 11 years of service can not be honored because they were not notified 9 months after I was XXXX. My complaint is, XXXX is the only legitimate government document we have to prove for VA benefits XXXX state benefits, housing benefits, student loans benefits, and jobs... but it is not good enough for the banks, i.e. CHASE to honor our time served " because they were not notified within a timeframe. '' XXXX the timeline! XXXX does not have a timeline! It does not matter if I just found out today or found out after 20 years with a pension, I believe AD members should get the differences in interest rates refunded for ANY of the time while they were on orders. My XXXX should be sufficient regardless of the timeline and when notified. I believe this should be fixed. I believe the clause to notify the banks within 180 days or 9 months should be looked at. Unbelievable. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: We have had a total {$54000.00}, taken from out business Chase Account to date. On XX/XX/2023 XXXX we had {$24000.00} withdrawn from the Chase Bank account. This amount was taken through XXXX transactions of various amounts from our Chase account from ~ XXXX XXXX to ~ XXXX XXXX. These XXXX transactions were all classified as refunds from various credit cards. This Chase account is linked to an entity of Chase Bank referred to as Chase payment tech. Chase Payment tech processes credit card payments on our behalf from our customers and deposits those funds into our Chase Bank Account. We have 3 accounts or user names that run credit cards through our office, one of those accounts was closed out by Chase payment tech but they never notified us and we never detected this issues until XX/XX/2023 when the accountant was reconciled. We immediately notified Chase Bank, who told us the Fraud department said to file a police report but they couldn't do anything about it. We did file a police report but then on Sunday there was a second incident, they pulled {$29000.00} from the same account on XX/XX/2023. We called Chase immediately but have yet to receive any of the funds that were stolen.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Consumer Complaint: I am supposed to have 5 % back on all purchases for the first 90 days of opening this account. Chase has purposely slowed payments I have made which has left me with no available credit to make purchases in excess of 5 business days or more. Chase cites fraud protection but I have made multiple payments using the exact same method of payment ( my bank ) which has cleared with no problems. I called to ask if Chase could extend the offer by another 90 days and Chase offered nothing only telling me to request a credit limit increase. I am trying to buy a house and this is hurting my credit by showing I have a higher debt to income ratio because I can normally pay the card off right away but Chase continues to hold every payment up for multiple days much longer than necessary. I just want chase to honor their promotional terms. Saying I have 90 days to utilize this promotion and purposely placing my payment on hold is not honoring your terms. I spoke to a rep yesterday about my payment finally being applied to my account and I was told that amount would be available by today, and this amount is not available like they told me. This is the second time they have given me false information in regards to my available credit.

Consumer Complaint: I seen her listing on XXXX about a house for rent and I tried to reach out to the person supposedly renting this property and at first we started with a conversation and see if I qualified so I sent a {$50.00} XXXX transaction for an application then they asked me for {$450.00} transaction for a security deposit but they wanted {$500.00} more through XXXX or XXXX and thats where I noticed that they were trying to scam me so I tried to meet up with them and they didnt want to. I try to request my money back to the person I sent it to, and they declined it. I already made a report to my bank so theyre trying their best right now but even though if I dont get my money back I would like to see what can I do so they can stop this type of fraud. They also sent me an ID, which was the person that I was supposedly communicating with that person told me to send it to the account with the name of XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: My credit score dropped XXXX points between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, from XXXX to XXXX. An XXXX credit report shows this account was closed. This account is a Chase Bank Freedom Unlimited VISA, beginning account numbers are XXXX XXXX XXXX. Communications with XXXX and Chase Bank resolved nothing, instead provided substandard answers and meaningless rhetoric. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I filed my taxes through XXXX. The incorrect account number was attached to my federal refund, but not my state refund. After about a month I went to the IRS to see the status of my refund, the IRS sent the refund ( {$770.00} ) to XXXX XXXX XXXX, who took payment as agreed upon by XXXX ( {$210.00} ), and sent the remainder ( {$550.00} ) to the incorrect account within Chase on XX/XX/XXXX. I don't own that account, and I have never seen the account number before in my life. Speaking with Chase I provided them with the account number and trace number for the ACH deposit. They said they received {$550.00} on XX/XX/XXXX with my name spelled correctly on it. Chase told me they didnt reject the money, and that they can not send the money back to XXXX XXXX XXXX , or transfer it to the correct account because it's been longer than 2 business days. Chase claims that the only way for the {$550.00} to be sent to me is for XXXX XXXX XXXX to issue an ACH Recall. XXXX XXXX XXXX told me on XX/XX/XXXX that they can not issue an ACH Recall and if Chase is unable to send it back to XXXX XXXX, or to the correct account, that I should open a civil dispute. I brought this back to chase, and ran it through several departments including my local branch, claims, and a handful of others. They denied my claim, and told me they can not do anything about it, and the only solution would be for XXXX XXXX to issue an ACH recall. I pressed the issue with XXXX XXXX again, and they again told me they didn't do ACH recalls and to talk to Chase. Both Chase and XXXX XXXX are unwilling to take the steps to send my refund to the correct account. So my tax return is sitting in a chase account with my name on it, and I have no access to it, or any method of getting it sent back to me without filing a lawsuit.

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern : I am writing to formally file a complaint against JP Morgan Chase regarding a serious service issue I have been facing. The matter pertains to a check deposit made on XX/XX/, in the amount of {$430.00}, issued by XXXX XXXX XXXX on behalf of XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The check was deposited through the Chase mobile app and was scheduled to clear by XXXX XXXX XXXX Unfortunately, the funds have not been made available to me due to an ongoing verification issue, leading to severe financial inconveniences. Since the check 's deposit, I have encountered significant challenges in resolving this matter, despite numerous attempts to communicate with JP Morgan Chase. I have made multiple phone calls to their customer service, visited a local branch, and spoken to various representatives in my quest to address this issue. Regrettably, the responses from Chase have been inconsistent and unhelpful, exacerbating the situation further. Chase has communicated that they are unable to verify the payee of the check, even after I provided them with valid telephone numbers to establish contact. Despite my efforts to provide accurate and verified contact information, the bank 's system appears to be unable to validate these numbers. Conversely, I have personally spoken to representatives from the payee 's side who affirm that the provided numbers are indeed correct and that Chase has not attempted to reach out to them. Furthermore, the conflicting information from both sides has led to a standstill. Chase has refused to release the funds to me, nor have they returned the check. This situation has become more severe, as my account was unexpectedly closed on XX/XX/, due to Chase 's flagging of the check and subsequent account restriction. This abrupt account closure has caused significant financial distress, with a ripple effect impacting various aspects of my financial stability. Most recently, during a call on XX/XX/, a Chase representative informed me that although the check had cleared, my account remained restricted, preventing my access to the funds. Shockingly, I was informed that if Chase is unable to verify the check, the funds may be sent to the State of California, and I may need to wait for an extended period, ranging from 3 months to 3 years, to have the matter resolved. The prospect of such a lengthy wait and the uncertainty surrounding my funds are causing me considerable distress. To add, I do not understand why Chase is unable to call XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX to verify the payee and funds? Why wouldn't the two banks communicate with each other? Chase is not doing right by their customers and are causing financial hardships that have detrimental impacts. I believe that a technical error within Chase 's verification system is at the root of this problem, causing unnecessary distress and hindrance to my financial well-being. I kindly request that this complaint be investigated promptly and a resolution be reached in a timely manner to alleviate the ongoing financial difficulties I am facing due to this issue. I appreciate your attention to this matter and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau 's commitment to safeguarding consumers ' rights. I kindly request your assistance in ensuring a just and swift resolution to this complaint. Please do not hesitate to contact me at [ your email address ] or [ your phone number ] if any further information is needed. Thank you for your attention and support in addressing this matter.

Consumer Complaint: I am a Marriott XXXX rewards member, so I have a credit card through Chase with them. The credit card is attached to my Marriott online account. When I book a hotel it automatically books on that credit card. I went to a stay at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The stay was horrifying. There was sour milk poured all along the side of the dresser. There was blood on the sheets. There was hair in the bathtub a used bar soap on the sink. The room smelled like dirty feet in mold. There were white stains on the couch, there were yellow stains all over the curtains in the living room, I am mediately told the front desk and ask them to be moved to a different room. They did not have any other room suitable for us. With me being a gold rewards member, they told me do not worry about it. Theyll make sure when the general manager comes in they will take care of it, and that the charges will be released from my card since they did not have a hotel to accommodate the size I needed, and the one I was in was filthy, they gave me stuff to clean the room since housekeeping was not there and I had nowhere else to go so I chose to stay there since they were going to clear the bill for the problems. When I checked out I was told when the general manager comes in on Monday, itll all be taken care of and removed off my card by the assistant manager there named XXXX, the girl who checked me in was named XXXX and I spoke to the hotel manager on duty for housekeeping she told me the issue with my room is that XXXX checked somebody in previously before me who complained about the room and left, so my room was never cleaned after they put someone else in there and then gave me the room afterwards, so not only was the room dirty. They had a guest in the room previously before me and I had to sleep in the bed, not knowing what the previous guest did in there. I told them when I left, I wanted a full refund they promised me it would be taken care of when the general manager came in I have called broken arrow town place suites every day and Im told the general manager is not responding and not coming in. I then called Marriott XXXX XXXX customer service open the case with them they told me that Manager has 5 days to reply to the open case and the general manager never replied I called marriot customer service back spoke with a manager about the charge they told me they would issue the case to corporate to deal with the hotel and someone will contact me and saw that I have a marriot credit card the manger told me to call the card company and have the charge disputed and if they needed to verify the charge they can call the hotel or them and they will tell them the general manager is not responding and this is not a valid charge however they are not able to remove the charge with out the general manager so I did just that I called my credit card company requested to dispute the XXXX XXXX charge that is not the correct charge that was supposed to be charge to me anyways I was supposed to be charge XXXX XXXX they told me I would be charge nothing due to the invivience so Im confused as to why there is a charge of XXXX and I have tried to dispute this charge and chase credit card dispute team refuses to investigate the issue and go after the merchant because I stayed at the hotel when I have the hotel and marriot corporate and customer service saying this charge need to be disputed and the card company can call them and they will advise them its s invalid charge but chase wont dispute it wont investigated it cause I stayed this and it is my right as a account owner per chase web site that if there is a invalid charge on my card I can call to dispute it and my card company has to investigate it. I have called chase several time no help they just keep saying that its a valid charge I have called the hotel many time and they tell. Me the general manager is not in and they cant do anything with out her and marriot customer service as well has stated she is unresponsive to the ticket they have open through customer service and corporate and all they can do is provide me points but I want my money back as I was promised from the hotel I dont know how they even charged me XXXX we never afteeed on that at all and that not what I was supposed to pay and when I told chase dispute team that I was told well even if you where supposed to pay XXXX it look like they gave you a discount so we cant dispute it and there nothing we can do I said its not a valid charge and if you call them they will tell you that but the credit card company still stands by that the hotel is allowed to charge me anything if I stayed there they dont have to dispute it even though its a invalid charge and not the price I even agree on. Chase dispute team is denying my dispute and allowing there lo not time customer to pay for invalid charges because they dont want to do there job I will never use my credit card through them again after this I have other ones that value you as a customer and will show they appreciate me as a customer but I need this charge for XXXX look into and resolved as Im not sure what the charge is for or anything cause my total for the hotel was XXXX the hotel was in livable and very dirty I was told many time they where very sorry and would not charge me do to the issue but they I was billed XXXX and XXXX is not the correct price for even one night so Im very confused about the price and no one can explain to me I have reach out every way I can with the merchant with no help I have been told by broken arrow town place suites my credit card company should be able to dispute this I also was told by marriot XXXX customer service that they should dispute it and they can reach out to the hotel or them to confirm it not a valid charge just no general manager to remove it but even after I told my credit card company this they denied to help me and I need this removed and looked into please I have been trying to dispute this transaction or get clarification on it but cant get help is any way at all though any once I have reach out to my complaint is officially on chase marriot XXXX credit card company which is JP MORGAN for the credit card department only cause I have a bank account through then and I dont ever have these issue I love chase any issue they fix it but the credit card company SUCKS THERE dispute team is horrible please look into this and help me resolve this issue I

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, my mother-in-law and I went to our bank, Chase, to deposit a check from XXXX XXXX for proceeds from sale of our mobilehome in CA. We are both Chase checking account holders, both gave clerk our ids, both signed check in tellers presence, and deposited check into my account. 10-day hold, no problem. Today, XX/XX/2023, I received a letter from Chase in my Chase app. The letter said to call fraud dept and my checking account was put on hold. I called fraud dept and they advise my mom and I too return to branch and show our ids to a manager, and have manager call Chase fraud direct to verify our identity. The manager called. He verified our identity, verified our home title was in both names, and verified our closing papers with XXXX XXXX was signed by both of us. After 30 minutes, the fraud dept said that not only were they holding the check until XX/XX/2023, but they would not lift hold on my personal funds or any direct deposits from my employer until the XXXX. They said I can put money in but no access to money already in my account or coming in. They also said, when the check clears on the XXXX, I have to personally call fraud dept and request the restriction be taken off my account. I had no issue with check hold, but I do not understand how they can hold my personal funds and pay.
