Consumer Complaint: I can no longer access my online account to check balances and pay the credit card. Today I was asked to check two boxes. One box is an Online Electronic Disclosure and Consent The other box I had to agree to is a Digital Services Agreement. Chase Credit Card wants me to agree to electronic notifications in lieu of receiving statement et al by U. S. Mail. I believe that is bullying by Chase. One agreement is 10 pages long and the other agreement is 124 pages long. If I don't agree to consents and agreements, I am unable to access my online account. The customer should always have a choice as to how they want to receive statements and the customer should always be able to access their credit card information and to be able to pay off their credit card online. Here is a copy of what I am forced to agree to in order to access my accounts online. Right now I can not access my account until I agree to this consent and agreement. Chase doesn't give me any other options. Disclosures and Agreements 70percent complete. Accept Disclosures and Agreements Please choose " Next '' after you accept the terms for the agreements. If you don't accept them, you won't be able to see or manage your accounts online. Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals

Consumer Complaint: I submitted a paycheck which I got from my company for {$1800.00} which I deposited in chase and my account has been restricted and I am not able to use any of the funds available in the account. The reason chase gave me this is that the number to all for verification of the check is missing from the internal database. I have tried giving them the number and also my employer is ready to go in the bank to verify or any other way is fine as long as Chase is able to verify the writer of the check. The amount has already been deducted from the employer 's account and I am stuck as I am not able to use my account and this is the only account that I have.

Issue: Closing an account

Subissue: Company closed your account

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I received a letter from chase bank on XX/XX/XXXX, which forcibly closed my checking account and savings account, as well as all my credit cards. I called the customer service to ask the reason, but they did not give me any explanation. Just say that it is written in the contract that the bank can close your account at any time. For me, I have not done any illegal operations. I have accumulated credit cards for many years. They closed them as soon as they said they closed them. I also paid on time. I know what caused it Closed my account. I also have a company in chase bank. I write a check from the company to me personally. This is the company 's salary. I don't know why it closed me, and I didn't say anything in advance, so I want to complain to chase bank. The credit accumulated over the years will be destroyed, please help me thank you

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card

Consumer Complaint: I purchased a small swimming pool related part from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The part was never delivered. So eventually I phoned and they credited us the price of {$6.00}. But the charge and credit kept recurring in the pending section of the account. Our credit card bank ( Chase Sapphire ) customer service refused to address the problem saying they can not do anything including blocking this merchant. I did not believe it. A supervisor supported the agent and then hung up on me. So we phoned back, got a different customer service representative who was much more helpful and sorted this out by connecting us to security to block this particular merchant. Chase needs much better quality control for its customer service. Customer service should have sent us to security the first time rather than state they can not block it.

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card

Consumer Complaint: The issue is with Chase checking and savings accounts and fraudulent withdrawals from two accounts. XX/XX/2023 : I received a call from the Chase branch in XXXX, IL indicating that there was a suspected fraudulent charge being attempted on my main checking account at a XXXX XXXX in Arizona ( with my card ending in XXXX ). I let them know that that was not me and they said they would decline the charge. As I was on the phone I googled the phone # and it was the Chase Branch in XXXX, IL. I also went into my account on the Chase app on my phone and reviewed the account and let them know that there were two smaller items that I did not recognize. They said they would review those as well. They sent me a " push '' through the Chase app and advised that they were changing my pin #. I advised that I did not want the pin # changed and requested that they send me a new card instead. They said they would do that right away. ( I've attached a PDF w/the screen print from my phone of the incoming phone call, the XXXX search XXXX and the reference on my checking account for the replacement card ). XXXXXXXX : I went in to review my accounts to make sure there were no additional items that I did not recognize. That is when I noticed that on XX/XX/2023 {$460.00} was taken from a second checking account that I have and that {$3500.00} was taken from my savings account. ( These withdrawals are also included on the attached PDF ) XX/XX/2023 : I filed the first claim with the Chase Fraud Team. They indicated that a new card was not requested and that a replacement card was sent ( for card ending in XXXX ). I had not received that card and it was on this day that they cancelled card XXXX and issued a new card was issued. XX/XX/2023 : I was notified that my claim had been denied because the withdrawals were made at an ATM w/a pin. I again informed them that I did not make the withdrawals and that I had the card in my hand. I asked them to review the video from the branch/ATM and they indicated that I would need to get a subpoena which would require me to file a police report. XX/XX/2023 : I went into the Chase branch in XXXX, IL. I ended up speaking with XXXX XXXX ( VP/Branch Manager ). She initially indicated that there was nothing that she could do at the branch, but was able to determine that the phone call on XX/XX/2023 did not originate from their branch. I was very upset and she called the Claims team and spoke with a manager. She advised that the manager in the Claims dept was able to determine that a duplicate copy of my card ending in XXXX was mailed to an address ( rushed I believe was the word she used ) that is not my home address. They would not provide the address to me when I asked. She indicated that based on this information, they would file a new claim. XX/XX/2023 : All of the withdrawals from the savings account were reversed. ( Copy included in the PDF ) XX/XX/2023 : I received a notification from Chase that the claim was once again denied ( for the checking ) and that they would be removing the {$460.00} from my account on or before XX/XX/2023. I have not yet received anything related to the savings account, but am afraid that if the checking claim was denied, that the savings will soon follow. XX/XX/2023 : I called the Chase claims dept and was once again told that the claim was denied because the card and the pin # were used. I again explained the situation ( as described above ). I asked what research they actually did. XXXX ( the person I spoke to in the Claims dept ) was not able to provide any specifics. I asked why Chase would not immediately review the video from the branch, as this seems like the most logical and bare minimum they could do in their " research ''. She once again told me the only way to get the video is to file a police report. Additional Notes : 1. I have never in the history of having these accounts used my debit card or taken any ATM withdrawals. I only use the card on my main checking. 2. The number of withdrawals from my savings account was XXXX. XXXX separate withdrawals totaling {$3500.00}.

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card

Consumer Complaint: JP Morgan Chase Bank has been extremely negligent in processing several dispute claims I had previously submitted. It has been over 14 days since the initia submission of these disputes and I have not been provided with any credit while the investigation is underway. Per Claim Tracker via Chase Bank Mobile app, the following claims are open and still in progress... XXXX {$66.00} on XX/XX/2023 XXXX XXXX. {$32.00} on XX/XX/2023 XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX {$120.00} on XX/XX/2023 MULTIPLE TRANSACTIONS {$25.00} on XX/XX/2023 Multiple Transactions {$10.00} on XX/XX/2023 Multiple Transactions {$26.00} on XX/XX/2023 This is not my first complaint with the same financial institution. Due to their consistent display of gross negligence and failure to abide by federal regulations which specify how to administer dispute claims I will be seeking legal assistance to initiate a suit in U.S. District Court for their insubordination, deceptive trade practices, and violations of Federal legislation.

Issue: Closing on a mortgage

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: Today, I received a call from the XXXX services at Chase telling me that they received returned mail and needed my address. I asked them to give me the address where they tried to send the mail and the address was the address of the new property that I recently bought. When I asked her who changed the address, she said that it wasn't changed. However, that is not the address on my loan application, so I know someone at Chase changed the address without my permission. Since she wasn't being forthcoming, I disconnected the call.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low

Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees

Consumer Complaint: Chase Bank Customer Service Department XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, DE XXXX Subject : Complaint regarding excessive overdraft charges and violation of fair debt collection practices I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Chase Bank regarding the excessive overdraft charges that have been imposed on my account over the past 365 days. This complaint is also on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, who has experienced similar issues with his account. Firstly, I have been charged a total of 15 overdraft fees within the last year, which I believe is an excessive and unfair practice. These charges have had a detrimental impact on my financial well-being and have caused significant harm to my financial stability. Furthermore, these overdraft charges were not foreseen or anticipated by me, as I have always maintained a sufficient available balance in my account to cover any transactions. Therefore, I contend that these charges are not only unjust but also illegal under the applicable laws and regulations. In addition to the aforementioned concerns, I must bring to your attention a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( 15 USC 1692d ) committed by Chase Bank. On XX/XX/2023, at XXXX XXXX, I received a call from +XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX, which I later discovered was from Chase Bank 's debt collection department. During this call, profane and obscene language was used, causing me emotional distress and further harm. Such behavior is a clear violation of 15 USC 1692d ( 2 ) and is unacceptable. I hereby demand that all the overdraft charges imposed on my account be immediately removed, and the corresponding funds be returned to me without delay. Additionally, I am seeking compensation of {$1000.00} for each violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, as outlined in 15 USC 1692k. It is important to note that overdraft fee practices must comply with various laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Truth in Lending Act ( TILA ), the Electronic Fund Transfer Act ( EFTA ), Regulation Z, Regulation E, and Section 1036 of the Consumer Financial Protection Act ( CFPA ). These regulations prohibit unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts or practices, particularly in relation to overdraft fees. Charging overdraft fees on transactions that a consumer would not reasonably anticipate is likely to be deemed unfair and can cause substantial harm to consumers. I urge Chase Bank to thoroughly investigate this matter and take immediate action to rectify the aforementioned issues. Failure to address these concerns in a satisfactory manner may leave me with no choice but to pursue legal remedies available to me. I expect a prompt response to this complaint within [ state a reasonable timeframe, e.g., 14 days ] from the date of receipt of this letter. Please direct all correspondence regarding this matter to the address provided above or via email at [ your email address ]. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that Chase Bank will handle this complaint with the seriousness it deserves and work towards a fair resolution.
