Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened without my consent or knowledge
Consumer Complaint: I received an emailed thanking me for applying for a Sapphire Chase Credit Card. I immediately contacted chase and informed them that I did not apply for the card. They told me someone applied for this using my social security number on XX/XX/23. They dismissed the application and reported this as fraud and stated everything was reversed and would be taken care of on their end.

Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: I was going through my credit report and noticed several hard credit inquiries that I don't believe I personally authorized. I've attempted to contacted each of those creditors listed and the credit bureaus that appears on my credit report. But after spending countless of hours and days on the phone with them and follow up through mail letters, Ive being giving run around, and they are still reporting inaccurate, incomplete and unverifiable items on my credit report. I've also personally wrote to the credit bureaus to look into this and I haven't received any responses over XXXX days. Again, I did not believe I personally authorized anyone employed by these companies to make any inquiry and view my credit report. This is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act Section 1681b ( c ) and a serious breach of my privacy rights, and I would like these hard inquiries removed from my credit report immediately if they can not be verified.

Consumer Complaint: I had a small business that failed. I had a company credit card that all employees used. It was my fault that employees took advantage of my business in this way by making liberal and unauthorized purchases on the credit card. But, this was a business credit card, not a personal credit card and Chase Bank is treating it as a personal debt when it was not a personal debt. I feel that if this will affect me personally, then the employees that used the credit cards should be affected personally also. After I sold the assets, the business paid or settled the remaining open debt balances. This business Chase credit card is being attached to my personal credit report even though I never signed a personal guaranty for the credit card. Chase Bank harassed and called me daily to pay the balance on the credit card back in 2020. Since it was affecting my personal ability to move on in life and have access to credit again, I offered Chase a settlement. I paid the amount we settled on personally and they were supposed to remove the record from my personal credit report. They have not done it and recently I was denied credit and this was a major reason for the rejection. This poor history on my personal credit report that should never have been reported there but to XXXX XXXX XXXX, is causing me harm in my personal life.

Subissue: Problem accessing account
Consumer Complaint: In 2020, the group that also " works '' at Chase bank ordered a death hunt on me. I nearly died. And I was temporarily declared dead. Chase staff used this opportunity ( or did they create it? ) to impersonate me to receive a large inheritance. To my last complaint, they responded with a letter with completely made-up false statements. No, I did not receive a Cashier 's check from Chase, and I invite them to show evidence of where it has been cashed in. https : XXXX Interestingly, the file name format follows the exact same pattern as other police-reported involved institutions, for instance, " XXXX XXXX XXXX. '' Furthermore, I would like details on the account that was allegedly closed in XXXX Who closed it? Why? Please provide the transaction history. My account is open, and it has over XXXX Million USD on it. I'm in a homeless shelter, and I've been told by Chase employees that I'd die from no money. The " bank '' already lost their banking license, because they do not just try to murder me and steal my account. Every banker can see that Chase has no banking license. Every IT person can see that they're now operating a spoofed website, because their website has been taken down. A simple traceroute does the trick. I need my OPEN bank account back, with my over XXXX XXXX USD. Please see XXXX for details and tons of evidence on this group. It follows the same pattern as the XXXX Bank theft, where you will find evidence, such as calls, communication, and more.

Consumer Complaint: At the end of lease, I contacted Chase ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and advised that I needed 4 extra days to return the car. I was told there is a grace period of 10 days ( the same thing I was told when I returned a previous vehicle to the same financier ). I returned the car 3 days later. Chase has reported a late payment for a full month to the credit bureaus and will not work with me on reducing the cost. They believe a full month payment is due even though I was told otherwise ( they claim to not be able to locate the call ) and only used the vehicle for 4 days.

Consumer Complaint: 15 USC 1681 Section 802 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act states " There is a need to insure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality and a respect for the consumer 's right to privacy ''. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX are consumer reporting agencies and I am the Consumer. I, the consumer, have the right to make sure my privacy information isn't shared which is backed by 15 USC 6801, stating, " It is the policy of the Congress that each financial institute has an affirmative and continuing obligation to respect the privacy of its consumers and to protect the security and confidentiality of those consumers ' nonpublic personal information ''. JP Morgan Chase Card Services is financial institutions by definition under that title. Also, 15 USC 1681 Section 401 Section A ( 2 ) states, " In general subject to subsection ( c ), any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report under the following circumstances and no other : in accordance with written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates ''. The financial institution JP Morgan Chase Card Services and the consumer reporting agencies XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX do NOT have my consent to furnish ANY information in regards to ANY items they are furnishing on my report and they surely do NOT have my written consent either. Any and all consent to XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and JP Morgan Chase Card Services- whether it be verbal, non-verbal, written, implied or otherwise- is REVOKED. 15 USC 6802 ( b ) ( c ) states, " A financial institution may not disclose nonpublic personal information to a nonaffiliated third party unless the consumer is given an explanation of how the consumer can exercise that nondisclosure option ''. I was never informed of my rights to exercise my nondisclosure options by JP Morgan Chase Card Services. Not only that- 15 USC 1681c ( a ) ( 5 ) states " Except as authorized under subsection ( b ), no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information- any other adverse item of information, other than records of convictions of crimes which antedates the report by more than seven years ''. The JP Morgan Card Services account is an adverse action accounts reporting without my permission- which is clearly against the law. 15 USC 1681s-2 ( A ) ( 1 ) states, " A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate ''. 15 USC 1681e states " Every consumer reporting agency shall maintain reasonable procedures designed to avoid violation of section 1681c of this title and to limit the furnishing consumer report to the purposes listed under section 1681b of this title ''. And lastly, 12 CFR 1016.7 states that " a consumer may exercise the right to opt out at ANY time ''. This is your notice that I am opting out of ALL of your reporting services.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I'm writing to you to express my frustration with Chase 's fraud department and its unacceptable handling of fraud on my credit card. Because I have spent the last three months attempting to resolve this issue with Chase, and because Chase has not handled this matter appropriately, I am sending this message to both the CFPB and the New York State AG. Between XX/XX/XXXX and today, I have detailed the case of fraud on my card to representatives from both the Fraud Department and executive office. - From XX/XX/2023 through XX/XX/2023 I traveled to XXXX. - On XX/XX/XXXX, I flew from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I flew back to XXXX XXXX from XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. - On XX/XX/XXXX a vendor titled " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX made a charge of {$590.00} using my Chase card information. This is the fraudulent charge in question. - Once I noticed this charge on my account several days later, I immediately notified Chase, who refunded and closed my account on XX/XX/XXXX. - Chase recharged the {$590.00} to my account on XX/XX/XXXX, claiming that I was liable for the charge because I " received benefit from this transaction ''. Over the course of the last three months, I have appealed Chase 's finding several times and spoken with several members from Chase 's executive office, including a woman named XXXX with whom I spoke at great length. During those recorded conversations, XXXX confirmed with me that : - The transaction took place in XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX using the cards Chip technology. - Because I both retained my physical card, and used it for another transaction after XX/XX/XXXX, that the charge is NOT deemed to be fraudulent. - It is Chase 's widespread policy to deny any fraudulent claims that involve chip technology because the fraud department believes EMV Chip technology is foolproof. - If I could prove that I both retained my physical card, and was not in the city where the fraudulent charge occurred, the fraud department could accept my claim. I followed the instructions given to me by XXXX and sent the fraud department another appeal that included my flight itinerary and hotel reservation. Both of these documents show that I was in XXXX XXXX XXXX on the day that the fraudulent charge was made in XXXX XXXX. They completely ignored the documentation I provided and, once again, denied my claim, stating that because the chip was used, and because I maintained possession of the card, the charge could not be fraudulent. From the start, Chase 's handling of this matter has been confused and irrational. First they denied my claim because they said I " received benefit from the transaction ''. Then they changed their reasoning and said they're denying the claim because I retained my physical card, and that EMV chip technology can't be hacked. They also said, however, that if I could prove I was in another city, then they'd accept the appeal. First, I never claimed that I lost possession of the card, but that the card was compromised. Second, if it were truly the case that a chip card could not be hacked, then where I was on the date of the disputed transaction would be irrelevant. Third, and I shouldn't have to point this out to so called " experts '' in a fraud department, but if they had looked at my documents and at my bank statement with any scrutiny, they would have noticed that I used my credit card in XXXX on the same day as the fraudulent charge was made in XXXX XXXX. Obviously I can not be in two cities at once. And the fact that the bank statement shows that two separate purchases were made in two different cities on the same day, should be enough to raise a red flag. It goes without saying that this entire matter has been exceedingly frustrating. Chase 's apparent position that a chip card can not be hacked is an opinion that can easily be contradicted by publicly-available information. This position is both factually baseless and draconian. If it is indeed a de facto policy to deny all fraud claims involving chip technology, then Chase 's practices on display here not only affect me, but must be negatively impacting countless other consumers who rely on Chase to do their due diligence in these matters- a practice that is highly suspect and deeply troubling. As I said, I would have hoped that Chase had better-handled this situation, and it's regretful that I've been forced to contact governmental authorities. I am available if you would like to discuss.
