Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: The person called me with the aforementioned number XXXX and their phone caller ID showed Chase Bank, XXXX XXXX. He spoke very professionally and mentioned my bank account has fraudulent transactions. He said that the way to secure my account was to send a dollar amount to two accounts and to reverse these transactions. One of them was for {$1900.00} to XXXX XXXX and another for {$500.00} to XXXX XXXX through XXXX. This was followed up by a request of {$20000.00}, this is when I contacted Chase Bank to inform them. My money got lost. Chase filed a courtesy claim to refund my loss but voided my request to transfer {$2400.00} back into my account on the grounds that this was insufficient evidence. I tried calling them multiple times and received the same response. XXXX kept transferring me to ChasXXXX. Please help resolve this.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals
Consumer Complaint: I am writing to address a pressing issue regarding my checking account [ Account Number ] with Chase Bank, which I recently discovered has been restricted without proper notification. As a valued customer, I believe it is my right to have clear communication from my bank regarding any account restrictions or limitations. Upon reviewing my account statement, I was shocked to find that my account has been restricted without any prior notice or explanation. This restriction has caused significant inconvenience and distress as it has affected my ability to access my funds and manage my financial affairs. I want to draw your attention to the fact that, under Florida law, financial institutions like Chase Bank are required to provide account holders with clear and timely notifications of any account restrictions or limitations. Failure to do so may be in violation of the Florida Consumer Finance Act, Section 560.404, which outlines the obligations of financial institutions to inform customers of account restrictions. I hereby demand the following actions to rectify this situation : Immediate Notification : Chase Bank must provide me with a detailed written notice explaining the reasons for the account restriction as required by Florida law. This notice should be sent to the address on file and via electronic means, if possible. Rejection of Direct Deposit : I request that any pending direct deposits scheduled to be deposited into my restricted account be rejected and returned to the sender. This is crucial to prevent any further financial hardship caused by the freezing of my funds. Access to My Money : I demand immediate access to my funds in accordance with Florida law, as long as there are no legal grounds for continuing the account restriction. This access should include the ability to withdraw funds, make transactions, and manage my account online.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened without my consent or knowledge
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/31, Chase Bank happily accepted a potential customer 's pertinent information, such as XXXX, XXXX, Address, etc., to be entered into their systems and open a credit product. I'm sure they were elated at the new account opened. At no point during the process did they match the entered SSN to existing accounts ( security check XXXX -- does this person already have accounts with us? ). Had they, they'd have noticed a mortgage, investment, checking, savings, credit card and auto account. By simply matching this input and asking the customer to sign in to their properly secured account via XXXX, this mishap wouldn't occur. Additionally, Chase accepted a home address that the customer hasn't resided at in XXXX years - because, reasons? I sure hope the executives at Chase are pleased with their eagerness to allow accounts to be open to report to investors, mind you, it's harder to pay for the credit card bill than it is to open an account. XXXX XXXX business practices that are SO SIMPLE TO AVOID!
