Consumer Complaint: Greetings CFPB! This complaint is in regards to Chase Checking Acct. ending in XXXX. Chase charged $ 12 monthly fees in XXXX and XXXX when the balance was at {$1500.00} on XXXX XXXX ( per the Bank 's required minimum balance to not have monthly fees ). I made an in person deposit specifically to meet the bank 's requirement, asking the teller for the correct amount on XXXX XXXX. XXXX made in that exact amount to arrive at {$1500.00}. Yet, Chase subtracted {$12.00} fee on XXXX XXXX and again in XXXX. Once I complained they credited back XXXX of these charges. I believe I am owed an additional credit of {$12.00} USD. I wrote this to Chase. However, I also would like an additional {$12.00} for my time wasted which is not the actual value of my wasted time as a lawyer, however if each time they are assessed micro fines, perhaps this conduct will become less remunerative for Chase. Thanks for your assistance. Best, XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I received an offer in my email stating that I would receive a {$900.00} total bonus by opening a Chase Total checking account along with a Chase savings account by meeting their requirements. I opened both accounts on XX/XX/2023 via the link embedded in that email and the coupon code for the {$900.00} was entered at that time. I waited and noticed that the bonus never posted despite meeting the account opening criteria. I contacted Chase through their secure messaging system in early XXXX to find out why my bonus had not posted. I was told that the I coupon code that I received was not attached to the accounts and there was nothing that could be done. I have no idea what happened during the signup process but I am 100 % certain that the coupon code was entered correctly. My personalized coupon that I received is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Im almost done with college in my senior year. Ive been applying for jobs via XXXX and I was scammed with a person posing as a real company. I checked a bunch of information on this company and after two rounds of interviews I was sent a check after I signed a hiring contract. The check was bogus and contacted chase immediately. They said ok we need to wait for the check to return then we can open you a new account number so it will be safe. They opened me a new checking account and then I deposited money and did normal transactions that were the same as my previous account. They froze my account and flagged it for fraud! They took my funds and refuse to give me back my deposits or give me access to my account.

Consumer Complaint: I deposited an estate settlement payment in the form of a cashiers check to Chase bank. They are holding the entire amount for 10 days. They are releasing none to me. I contacted them to see what the hold up is and they are saying they havent received it. The teller in bank said it is possible that the hold can be released early. This was a lie. They are internally holding funds from me.

Consumer Complaint: Yesterday, XX/XX/23 I decided to take advantage of Chase 's " Enjoy up to {$600.00} for new Checking and Savings customers promotion. It provided XXXX options get a code email to open an account at the branch OR open the account online and the promo would be applied. Since I don't normally do branch banking, I elected to open the account online. During the account online process, there were no fields to add a promo code since the ad stated the promo code would be applied when choosing the button provided to " Open Both Accounts '', which is the action I selected. That process failed. Only after the accounts were opened, I saw a brief message flash that the promo could not be applied. I called Customer Service at XXXX and first spoke to XXXX who said she could not see that the promo was applied and could not do anything about it. Perhaps I should go to the branch to get this resolved. I requested the call be escalated to a supervisor. I was placed on hold and eventually transferred to XXXX, a supervisor. XXXX instructed me to wait until Saturday to call and confirm the status. I advised XXXX that this was deceptive advertising and that I would file a complaint against Chase under XXXX if this was not resolved. She opened an internal complaint, but I have no assurances the issue with the promo code will be resolved. That complaint number is : XXXX. The process I followed and qualified for, is being reneged only after I opened the accounts. She had to be asked to open a complaint. She advised me that there is a XXXX grace period to get this resolved. Chase is engaging in deceptive advertising practices and bait and switch. I chose the " Open Both Accounts '' and the promo was not applied. Furthermore, Chase 's staff is unfamiliar with how the promo works and is placing the onus on me as a consumer to keep following up in hopes of getting this resolved. I had to make XXXX calls in 2 days to re-explain the issue to no avail. Fully knowing that many people will not follow through. Both my checking account and savings account were opened using " Open Both Accounts '' button and Chase is refusing to honor the promotion - according to XXXX, they don't have a way to add the Promo Code. Attached are screen capture images of the promo. I am asking Chase to honor the promotion they advertise by XXXX. Sending me written confirmation that the promo code has been added along with a root cause explanation of why this occurred XXXX ) ensuring that I receive the {$600.00} credit and I want them to train and empower their staff to assist consumers with such issues in the future. The onus should not be shifted on the consumer to make multiple calls and be bounced around with no resolution in sight.
