Consumer Complaint: in XXXX i changed cell phone carriers. i was told i had to pay {$750.00} for a device and turn another device in and this would cancel my service with the then carrier. i complied with this request. on 4 separate occasions i went to the mobile carrier to turn the final piece of equipment. i was told after the 4th try that the store would not accept the device and that a box would be sent to my home. once i received the box, i could return it to the carrier. this never happened. when i spoke with the company yesterday i was told that i owed them over {$2000.00}. i asked what the {$2000.00} was for and a very rude man told me that i had no options and that i either needed to pay the money or risk my credit being affected. i followed al the proper procedures for cancelling the service. i could not return the phone because they would not accept it. i am asking for clarification on what the charges are for and how we can come up with an amicable settlement/solution.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX IC System Inc -- I cancelled an account with XXXX and returned their equipment. They continued to bill me even though I did not receive service. I had been on autopay my entire time using their service. So had never been late with a payment. When I called them to notify them they had billed me for service I did not receive and equipment I had returned, they assured me it would be taken care of and removed from my account. XXXX XXXX confirmed they were removing the charges. Not only did they not remove the amount they said I owed, they sent it to collections. It has killed my excellent credit when I'm trying to get a mortgage. I have written to them every year and written to the credit reporting agencies. I have excellent credit, have never been late with a bill or payment and this has destroyed me. Do not believe anything the XXXX representatives tell you on the phone. They will tell you whatever you want to hear so you dont cancel your service. But they will not fix it or back you up when they make an error. My nearly perfect credit score of XXXX did not include any negative items, and 0 late payments.

I have disputed the account in writing but I C System has still reported this as a collection account to credit reporting agencies.
