I recently discovered through my new monitoring service this account being reported I made efforts to remove this account from my file as the amount of {$220.00} does not belong to me. This account was fraudulently opened through this company in XXXX of 2018 an has been reported to the FTC and authorities as Identity theft. I have submitted all of my information needed to resolve this matter in this complaint and through the FTC report attached and do not feel comfortable giving any further information in any way to any others at this time due to the further possibilities of identity theft.

Consumer Complaint: I woke up XX/XX/2020 to find I have an email saying my credit went down due to the fact that I had a collection added to my credit report. I opened up XXXX and it said IC systems but nothing stating whom its for. I called IC systems and spoke to a gentlemen who collects debt. I asked the gentleman whats this about and he couldnt find me anywhere in his system. Then he finds me and says its for XXXX. I said its not me. I went through this before and it was taken off by XXXX. So I asked how long this was in his office and he says for 50 days. I said well how come I didnt get a phone call or letter in the mail stating whats going on so I couldve at least taken care of the Situation some how before it got on my credit report. He stated that they have The wrong info for me. I said thats not my fault. He agreed. Im writing you guys because the collection agency never contacted me to inform me of the debt before placing it on my credit report and I requested validation of the debt and that they need to remove it from my credit until they provide me with the validation.

In accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I am asking you to stop collection proceedings against me and stop communicating with me about this debt, except as the Fair Credit Reporting Act allows. I also ask that you notify [ the business where the account was opened ] and tell them the debt is the result of identity thef I have enclosed a copy of the Federal Trade Commissions Notice to Furnishers of Information. It explains your responsibilities under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). The FCRA requires that debt collectors give an identity theft victim documents related to an account if the victim asks.
