Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I had contacted the debt collection company to find out why there was a collection against me as the product was paid for at the time of service. They were less than helpful and said that they would not accept proof of payment in the form of bank statements but would be happy to discuss a repayment plan. How else other than a bank statement am I supposed to prove that I paid for something? They then told me to contact the original company and send them the bank statements, and when I did it took them 2 weeks to get back to me. When I finally spoke to someone they had no idea what the debt collection agency was talking about and they couldn't accept the statements. I've been sent in circles with no resolution for something that I've already paid and is ruining my credit.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 I received copy of my credit reports ( XXXX and XXXX ) and IC Systems is listed in collection section on these reports and I have no contract with this collection agency. I have never spoken to them in person or by phone, I have never received a letter or electronic communication. This is a debt that I am not liable for and this entry from IC Systems on my credit reports is damaging my credit as a consumer. I understand there are laws to protect consumers in situation like this and that I have a right to request a full investigation for authorization and verification as to why this company is listed on my credit reports.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Information belongs to someone else
Consumer Complaint: The XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX collection first appeared on my credit report in XX/XX/XXXX by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I immediately contacted the phone number listed on the report. I was informed that the account was opened in my name in XXXX, XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I lived in XXXX, XXXX at the time and was in the process of relocating to California due to military reassignment. I advised the customer service representative that I did not open or authorize the opening of said account. I asked the representative what documentation was used to determine I was the individual requesting the account. She said accounts opened online at that time requested no proof of identity. She explained that I could pay the balance in full with her but there was nothing else she could do. I hung up and drove to an XXXX XXXX XXXX store location in XXXX California. The representative at the store had no record of an account in my name using my Oklahoma drivers license. He advised me to contact the fraud department. I called the XXXX XXXX XXXX fraud number but it only included an automated message which provided no real help or resolution to my problem. I disputed the collection and it was removed from my credit report in XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX again added the collection to my credit report in XX/XX/XXXX. I reached out again and was emailed a fraud packet on XX/XX/XXXX requesting proof of residency between XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I returned the complete fraud packet on XX/XX/XXXX, including all requested information and supporting documentation such as my California leasing agreement and utility bills. My fraud claim was denied by XXXX citing there was not enough evidence to support my claim. I again filed a dispute and the collection was removed from my credit report in XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX IC Systems XXXX XXXX added the collection to my credit report. I called the listed number and was informed that they simply report and collect debts. I was told to file another fraud claim and hope the issue gets resolved. I asked for all information associated with the account to include the account number, service address, phone number, and email address listed in the file. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX, provided this information in an attempt to determine who could have opened this account. They were unable to help me because I could not provide the account pin, security answer, or answer the phone number listed on the account. I asked to speak with someone in the fraud department and was disconnect from the call. No one ever called me back. I then filed a formal Identity Theft Police Report in XXXX XXXX XXXX which was accepted under the Reference XXXX. I am awaiting a follow up to this report, but have grown tired of simply disputing this collection annually. I am seeking to have this error remedied and pursue legal action against AT & T for aiding fraudulent activity in my name as well as the creditors for harassment, slander, intimidation, and violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: This complaint submission is in regards to a false credit report by ( XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I have made attempts to rectify this matter with them directly as they have now been unresponsive. I spoke with a representative who was both uncooperative and uninformative. The representative whose name is XXXX XXXX was extremely aggressive and stated they will not cooperate in a XXXX XXXX. The representative continued to deny my request on information regarding the account. I then made another attempt and I was finally provided with the Fax number and mailing address so I could forward them a Debt Of Validation letter. This Debt Of Validation letter which was sent twice on XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX, was confirmed through FAX and CERTIFIED MAIL that the Supervisor had received the files by signature confirmation. At this point it is now XX/XX/2023, and after 30 days of notifying them, neither my Attorney nor I have received any response, or correspondents. I specifically asked for proof of the alleged debt and anything in signature or JUDGEMENT BY LAW stating I was obligated to pay them or falsely report a debt to the three major Credit Bureaus. They failed to return the requested information on the Debt of Validation Letter. I have never made any agreement with them nor the original creditor to pay anything, nor was I properly notified of this false reported debt. I am requesting ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) to immediately remove me from their systems and update all 3 major Credit Bureaus specifically ( XXXX, XXXX, & XXXX ) on this action. They have failed to follow the guidelines which were all provided to them in the Debt Of Validation letter that supports the Fair Debt Collections Practice Act. In result, ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) are violating my rights and are also causing financial hardship with this debt being reported. This false report by XXXX. XXXX XXXX has prevented me from gaining access to any lenders due to Derogatory Marks on file. At this point they have failed to provide any competent evidence or any legal obligation and XXXX. XXXX XXXX is currently in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practice Act, 15 USC 1692g. If this report is not updated immediately to the 3 major Credit Bureaus, I will be taking legal actions and will immediately file a Civil Suit.
