Consumer Complaint: I C system is trying to collect a debt before providing me enough information. I first received a collection letter from the I C system around XX/XX/XXXX on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. However, I did not know I owed anything. After receiving the letter, I contacted the medical group and explained that I did not receive any bill from you. After doing some research, the representative found that they wrote my address wrong. Therefore, I did not receive any statements. The bill was about my son 's 1-year follow-up visit when he was XXXX old. Although we visited the doctor for my son when he was XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, I was not aware that we had to pay any bills. Because when my son was born in XX/XX/XXXX, the hospital made a mistake, and as compensation, the hospital decided not to charge us any bills for my son. This follow-up visit was with the same doctor who had seen him when he was born and associated with the same hospital. Therefore, I assumed there would be no bills to pay, which was further affirmed when I did not receive any statement from them. However, it appeared that the medical group actually sent the invoice to the wrong address, and thus I never received the bill. When I received the collection letter from the I C system, I contacted the medical group. I asked whether I needed to pay the bill since we had a settlement with the hospital. The representative noted and took my cell phone number and address and promised to follow up after speaking to the hospital and other corresponding departments. However, I never received any call or follow-up mails from the medical group and the I C system. Now I found out that the I C system reported my bills to the credit bureaus instead of sending me another reminder letter. This is a very disappointing and unacceptable attitude from these two organizations!
