Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, at approximately XXXX, GM Financial repossessed my vehicle using a third-party agent, XXXX XXXX. My vehicle was located on private property not owned by me and the tow truck driver trespassed onto the property without permission to verify the tag of the vehicle from the rear. There was no other way to verify the right vehicle without trespassing. He then backed the tow truck to the beginning of the driveway and extended the tow arm enough to drag the car off of private property and into the street.

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finished
Consumer Complaint: I returned my vehicle at the end of my lease on XX/XX/23 with all lease payments up to date. On XX/XX/23 GM Financial sent me a bill for the excess wear and disposition fees upon " termination of lease ''. This means that the lease was terminated on XX/XX/23 when the vehicle was returned. At that time I disputed the wear and tear charges and was waiting for GM Financial to get back to me with a response. Instead they sent me another bill with the same charges 30 days later with no response to the dispute. They then began to report the account as 30 days past due to the Credit Bureaus which negatively impacted my credit. This additional bill at the end of the lease was not credit that was extended to me and as such should not be reported to the credit bureaus. The negative remarks should be removed from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: My car was being repaired, the parts were on back order for months and I was paying month to month on an extended lease. I decided to end the lease and turn the car in. I contacted XXXX XXXX at La XXXX XXXX and tell him of the situation, he told me he would get the car from the La XXXX body shop, so I took the insurance check to the body shop and talked with the manager and told him of the situation. He told me that GM doesnt want the car until it has been repaired and he would contact GM and the dealer that I was ending the lease, so I gave him the keys and walked away thinking it was taken care of. I received a call from GM financial in XXXX, asking about the XXXX XXXX that I turned in. I explained the whole situation to her, she said she would contact the body shop to clear it up. This happened in XXXX, XXXX and I think in XXXX, I asked the last caller if she can see the previous calls and she said she could, I then asked why this hasnt been taken care of? She told me she would. Fast forward to last week when I was purchasing a XXXX XXXX XXXX and couldnt get a loan below XXXX % and was told by the finance manager that I have 4 flags on my credit rating from GM for non payment and most banks wouldnt touch my loan. Before this my credit number was XXXX or above. I called GM Financial and they told me it was my fault and that I should have contacted them, I explained to her about the body shop managers promise to contact them, after awhile she said they would open an investigation, also that I had to write a letter to them explaining everything and it could take 60 to 90 days to get an answer. I dont want to wait that long to fix something that should not have happened in the first place

Consumer Complaint: GM Financial sent me an email that they received a notice the car was impounded. We left the car at a repair shop ( the owner apparently had died in the meanwhile is what the current owner of location is saying ), that apparently it was stolen and sold on XXXX XXXX XXXX ( according to the police in FL ) with a stolen title in FL. Someone tried to transfer the title or pick up tags where it was discovered. The FL police reached out to GM Fin'l, asked if they still had a lien, and GM Fin'l picked it up. This was approximately from Spring sometime until XXXX. I had been making payments the whole time so had no idea. GM Fin'l blocked my acct to receive any add'l payments, causing it to go into default, called the loan due but never gave me a payoff nor would give one when requested, sold the car for at least $ XXXX more than was owed, and refunded me two payments. It's being reported incorrectly on XXXX as a charge off. There should not be default because they caused the default by blocking the payments being processed. And they sold the car and kept to proceeds. I'm located in XXXX GA area. A XXXX XXXX. Acct XXXX. I can't get into the account to pull the full account number. Also I had a legal name change in the meanwhile, so name changed on account to current name XXXX XXXX XXXX, but initially was XXXX XXXX. The police officer had me submit a statement. It is attached. His name is Officer XXXX XXXX. Email address : XXXX. I recently was denied for a new car loan and am paying very high interest on the loan that was accepted.
