Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Consumer Complaint: I sold my vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX and received a release of interest and confirmation from GM Financial stating that my account was paid in full. As of XX/XX/XXXX I checked my credit report and GM Financial is still reported that I had a balance on my loan two months after my loan was paid in full and GM Financial sent a release of interest letter. I then submitted a dispute with the 3 credit bureau 's stating that the loan was paid in full. At the end of the investigation the 3 credit bureau 's updated my GM Financial loan that the balance was still owing but that I was now 60 days late for bothXX/XX/XXXX. and XX/XX/XXXX. I no longer had the loan inXX/XX/XXXX andXX/XX/XXXX. These reports are incorrect but GM Financial refuses to update their records and the 3 credit bureau 's are not updating their records either.

Consumer Complaint: I have 2 open paid perfect GM Financial auto leases. Gm Financial has not reported my payment history on the accounts since XX/XX/2017. They inform me they stopped because they went to a new record keeping system and because of technical problems they quit reporting to the credit bureaus. My score went from XXXX to XXXX as a result. I'm in the process of trying to secure a mortgage. Obviously my interest rate is being negatively affected. XXXX says their system records the lack of repOrting as a serious delinquency. Gm Financial was absolutely no help and XXXX wasn't much help either. I don't understand how GM Financial can do this. I have talked to several other people who are experiencing the same treatment as I am. Any help wI 'll be deeply appreciated.

Consumer Complaint: I obtained a loan from GM Financial in XX/XX/2017, a {$29000.00} loan for {$470.00} a month for 72 months. in XX/XX/2017 I requested a pay off amount. Every since I requested the pay off, they have stopped reporting my payments to the credit bureau. It makes me look 5 payments behind on my loan plus my credit report shows me owing {$2500.00} more than I really owe. The company stopped reporting my payments to reduce my credit score so I could not obtain a loan from another company. This is a huge rip off scam being used by this company. I think an investigation is in order. When I confronted them about the issue, they said they stopped reporting because of " errors ''. Please stop these people from doing this. It is highly profitable for this company to use this practice because it keeps their customers buried in the same loan and because of the misreporting, it limits customers ability to obtain new loans as their credit scores don't reflect payments made.

Consumer Complaint: After review of my credit report I discovered accounts that were open in my name without my consent. GM Financial has a car note reporting that was a result of fraud. I filed an identity theft report as recommended by the FTC and took the steps needed to report the problem and remedy it quickly. After disputing with the credit bureaus XXXX refused to block or delete this account even with the identity theft report.The same information was sent to the other bureaus and it was removed.GM Financial was made away of this problem and it still has not been resolved. Although the account is not potentially negative I do not want it on my credit report because it's inaccurate and unknown to what kind of record it will lead to in the future. Time is of essence. I want this resolved ASAP.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX pulled my credit report for a loans/and OR, Credit cards for someone using my Identity to apply for a Loans or Credit. On XX/XX/XXXX I filed an Identity Theft report, and Police Report with my local police department XXXX XXXX XXXX police department, because I got alert that someone had opened, different credit lines in my name without me knowing. Someone was using my Identity to apply for loans and, lines of credit online. There were over seven accounts opened, and over 18 hard inquires. I reported everything right away to all three credits companys, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX,. A alert was supposed to be put on my credit reports for 90 days. From XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. However, whoever is using my social security number has been still trying to get credit in my name. I spoke to ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX ) and they could not release information because some of the information did not match what I what information I had. However, they still put a Hard Inquiry on my XXXX, and XXXX credit reports. on XX/XX/XXXX a total of three times in a matter of a three-month span time. As of today, I have contacted Social Security Administration, and have a appt to get a new social security card this does not keep happening. This is affecting my credit and, I take my credit serious. I am shocked, and still shocked as, to how this is has happened, and it has taken me almost months so far to try and, clean up my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I discovered that GM Financial was not sending updates concerning my on time payments. I only discovered it after calling them to dispute a late payment reported to the three major bureaus inXX/XX/XXXX. The company ( GM ) advise that it was a company wide issue that they switch systems and that they were making errors so not to get anyone credit incorrect, they elected not to report. However, it has been 4 months since they have submitted and update. I'm working to rebuild my credit and the last then sent is a late payment over 4 months ago. My loan is new so its driving down my points daily as it looks that I no longer have the loan and after 3 payments one was late! I demanded that they send an update to the bureaus and they stated they would. I demanded that they send a letter to me advising that the task is complete. I'm yet to received this letter. Please help to resolve this issue as my family and I am looking to purchase a home and this is hurting us.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2015 I signed a 3 year lease with GM financial. I never had any problems and always paid on time. I never had a late payment reported in my credit report, I worked very hard to keep my credit in good standing. In the past few months GM financial had many issues with their online system. Multiple times in the last months of my lease I attempted to log into my account to see my lease end to date status and or payment balance along with pay off information but their system would be down in many different occasions. I would get a message that system was down for an unknown period of time. This was very frustrating. I called GM Financial to update my contact information and for some reason the agent failed to updated it. Only one side of GM financial had my correct phone number. On XX/XX/XXXX Of this year I accessed my account online to get my pay off information and last payment and end of lease details so that I could start the start the auto loan process with my bank since I had decided to buy my XXXX XXXX. Under the online payment process tab under the payments remaining it said one payment is remaining!!!. So I made that payment on XX/XX/XXXXassuming it was the last payment as it indicated online. In early XX/XX/XXXX I called to get my pay off balance since I could not access the account online ( their system was down again for days ) by this time I was already approved with my credit union to buy this car from GM Financial. I spoke to customer service and they transferred me to the payoff department. I spoke to the agent XXXX 4 times and she educated me with the pay off process, she provided me the pay off amount. I give this information to my bank and proceeded with the purchase of the car. At no point in my conversations with XXXX in the paynoff department or agents in customer service mentioned that My account was late and that there was one more payment remaining. No one ever said anything to me, I also didnt get any calls or letters from GM financial letting me know that there was another payment remaining and that my account was delinquent!!! Not until I asked an agent why is the account balance not matching and she said you have a 38 day late payment!!! Excuse me!? When did this happened!! I asked if it had been reported to the credit agencies and was told yes after spending a full hour on the phone. I immediately asked to dispute the late report and asked to speak to management but my request was denied. Every agent I talked to said sorry! I cant help you and said I cant file a complaint or do anything to resolve the issue. They said I have to dispute it directly with the credit bureaus!!! I asked for your help!! I want this late to be removed-deleted from my credit report!! I never paid anything late and have no late reports on my credit!! This has been a really bad experience with GM Financial and I will do what it takes to clear this from my credit report! I am a responsable person and take good care of my credit history!!! Consumer Complaint: GM Financial last reported my car payment as past due in XX/XX/2017, and in the 5 months since have not updated my credit standing to any of the bureaus. I am not past due, and am in fact making my payments early. After calling GM Financial multiple times regarding this issue, they've informed me that due to a system update in late XX/XX/XXXX they were unable to correct the problem. This has affected my credit negatively, as it a ) shows I have been past due since XX/XX/2017b ) I haven't made a payment since that time c ) I have a high debt balance as a result. GM Financial has refused to make amends and fix their mistakes time and time again. They've reported me as past due multiple times in the past simply because they forgot to update my account once payment was received.
