Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: I was XXXX and on XXXX, making the payments late, but still making the payments. The repo man jumped into my car while it was running with no identification, no badge, no uniform, a plain black t shirt and jeans and took off with my vehicle. When my fianc caught up with the car the tried to find out what was going on and tried to get the car back. The repo man tried to get my fianc to hit him and got in his face, when the altercation got heated he stated he was the repo man. No one was ever harmed or touched. I called gm financial to give them all the late payments and whatever fees were needed to get my car back and they told me I had to pay the car loan in full in order to get the car because the repo man was hit. I explained to many people that no one was harmed and the way the repo took place was unprofessional and unsafe. The had me paying {$25.00} a month for 6 months but soon just stopped contacting me. I went online and my balance said XXXX dollars. Now I see it on my credit as closed.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt is not yours

Consumer Complaint: There is a fraudulent account on my credit report that has become egregious and is not mine. I do not know who used my name or how this came to be a debit of mine. It is a auto lease debt from GM Financial. I cant say this more emphatically, I have never had a GM Financial account in my life and could you please remove this immediately. Also, I am exercising my right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609, to request information regarding an item that is listed on my consumer credit report. As per section 609, I am entitled to see the source of the information, which is the original contract that contains my signature. There is no such document because this isn't my debt so please remove ASAP.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I took possession of a vehicle from XXXX XXXX. They took my XXXX XXXX XXXX as a trade. The payoff of my previous vehicle was not made timely from the dealer XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX told me that they requested for GM Financial to correct any late payments to my account. This did not occur. In XXXX of XXXX I started the process of buying a home. I learned that GM Financial had reported two late payments on each of my credit reports. The late payments were for XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the dealership to have them remove the late payments from my credit report. From XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX GM Financial has been contacted many times. They have even received a letter from XXXX XXXX stating that the late payments are not due to any action of mine. GM Financial refuses to remove these late payments stating that the loan is paid or they don't know how or won't do it. GM Financial has violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They have been notified that they should not be reporting any late payments but they refuse to remedy the situation despite the fact that I as of XX/XX/XXXX I no longer owned the vehicle they are reporting the late payments for.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: Upon the termination of my XXXX XXXX lease in XXXX of 2020 I received single bill for the residual close out monies owed. I called XXXX and emailed them within a few days of this statement to clarify excess wear and tear on the car since it was in pristine condition upon return. I was informed there was a scratch on the wheel. I requested a new statement given the dispute. From XX/XX/2020 through XX/XX/2020, we never received another bill, statement, phone call, notice - and I assumed XXXX - wife and accountant settled the existing account even though I disagreed with the initial assessment. Upon applying for a mortgage this month ( XXXX ) I had no idea that XXXX was negatively reporting a delinquent account - severely affecting my credit - despite over 10 years of on-time payments and customer loyalty as a XXXX owner. I was never re-billed, contacted or notified that the account was still open. See credit history below. There is no 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days late notification at all. The monies owed was never an issue on affordability and as soon as I found out this was an issue I immediately called XXXX to settle the outstanding account. During that call I asked them to correct this reporting issue given the same discussion points raised in this communication. I also submitted a complaint on line to XXXX regarding the matter. In their lack of a fair reporting or notification process, you can see the damage it has done to my credit report and XXXX loyalty. Below is the image they are reporting to my credit agencies. I have tried to resolve this matter directly with XXXX and they haven't cared to or bothered to fix this error / issue. As evidenced through reporting to all three credit bureaus, it shows there is a definitive lack of a notification process for the consumer based on the dates XXXX is reporting. There should be a 30 day late, 60 day late, 90 day late before the major ones they have listed below. That is all that would have been required and had been requested by this consumer and the account would have been settled immediately. ( See attached png. ) I am requesting this single XXXX issue be removed from my credit history. The impact such callous indifference has on long time loyal XXXX customers is indelible but forgivable when they chose to do the right thing.

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Subissue: Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finished

Consumer Complaint: Since my lease ended with GM Financial, the amount owed at the end of the lease has changed three times. Initially I was sent a bill for {$1300.00} but it did not include details on the inspection results for excess wear and tear. I called to get the details and reviewed the inspection results with the agent on a site they use. During the discussion we determined that the amount shown in the inspection did not match the amount shown as due to GM Financial. I was instructed by the agent to wait a couple of weeks while they requested a correction/confirmation of the actual amount due. After waiting couple weeks, I checked the amount owed on the site and it now showed {$0.00} due. When I called in to confirm if the amount due was correct, I was informed to disregard the amount as it was incorrect. Once the pending adjustments were made, I would receive a new bill for the final amount. I never received the bill. On XX/XX/2020, I checked the site again and it now showed that I owed {$810.00}. That day, I paid {$410.00} towards the amount due so it would leave me with a final payment of {$400.00}. When I checked the site again, it now showed that I owed {$800.00} by XX/XX/2020. I once again called to confirm since the prior amount it had shown was {$810.00} and with the payment I made, it should reflect only {$400.00} due by XX/XX/2020 and not {$800.00}. I was told to disregard the amount shown and that I indeed only had to pay {$400.00}. Today I logged in to the site to make the final payment of {$400.00} which was agreed upon previously. However, the site still shows that I owe {$800.00} by XX/XX/2020. I once again called to confirm what the correct amount due. The agent confirmed that I needed to pay only {$400.00} and that I should disregard what showed on the site. While she agreed that the site can be inaccurate, she indicated that they were providing payment information online as a courtesy. They were under no obligation to show the correct amount on the site and that the correct amount due was told to me when I called in.
