Consumer Complaint: On or around XX/XX/XXXX, I discovered that on my Experian credit report, my student loan ( approximately $ XXXX ) was mistakenly shown via two separate Department of Education loans ( one with XXXX and one with XXXX ) and I submitted a dispute on their website. The other XXXX credit reporting agencies do not ( mistakenly ) have the XXXX loan designated as open like Experian ; nor is the total student loan balance double the actual amount as it is on the Experian credit report. The XXXX loan was transferred to XXXX effective XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX sent me notification of the transfer of the loan to XXXX, confirmation that the XXXX loan has a XXXX balance ( due to the transfer ) which confirms that the XXXX loan is closed. Experian responded to my dispute by verifying the information I submitted was accurate, but Experian failed to correct the inaccurate information my credit report by closing the XXXX loan. Instead, Experian took some other action ( adjusting the initial balance of the XXXX loan ) which is irrelevant and unhelpful because the loan needs to be designated appropriately as closed/transferred. On or around XX/XX/XXXX, after a follow up call to Experian during which I explained these circumstances to no avail, I submitted the two documents from XXXX described above to substantiate my claim in a second dispute. On XX/XX/XXXX, Experian responded by informing me again that they verified that the information I provided was accurate. However, once again, Experian failed to correct the inaccurate information by designating the XXXX loan as closed/transferred which is apparent from the documents from XXXX as well as my loan payment history. Experian is ignoring the obvious, that the loan I had with XXXX is closed due to the transfer to XXXX. As a result, I am impacted by the impact of this inaccurate information, and Experian has not been helping despite my multiple attempts to update my credit report even though they acknowledge the information above is accurate.
