Consumer Complaint: My XXXX student loans were paid in full ( {$31000.00} ) by another company in XX/XX/XXXX which resulted to a {$0.00} balance. Currently, XXXX XXXX, the account is still showing active on my credit report with the full balance. History : I started contacting XXXX In XX/XX/XXXX because the account was still showing open and with the full balance. Every time I contacted XXXX I received conflicting answers -- first they said due to their reporting structure, the balance would take a few months to drop off, then they said because I had XXXX late payments back in XXXX ( 5 years ago )- they wont change the reporting. At the end of the day- the reporting is wrong... The account is showing open ( but should be reported as closed since it was paid in full ) and the balance should be reported as XXXX. Is there anything I can do to get this reporting updated?
