Consumer Complaint: Re : Formal Complaint - Violation of 15 U.S. Code 6802 - Discrimination Concern - XXXX XXXX Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a potential violation of 15 U.S. Code 6802 by XXXX XXXX, a financial institution that I have an account with. As a consumer, I am entitled to privacy protections under this statute, which mandates that financial institutions adhere to specific requirements when disclosing personal information. Section 6802 stipulates that financial institutions may not disclose nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties unless certain conditions, such as providing proper notice and an opportunity to opt-out, are met. My concern is twofold : a potential violation of this statute and the consistent misuse of my credit report. I spoke with a manager at XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2024, at XXXX XXXX. Unfortunately, despite my efforts to seek clarity and assistance, the manager refused to provide any help or information. This refusal to assist has intensified my concerns, leading me to believe there may be a deliberate pattern of negative reporting that goes beyond normal circumstances. Consequently, I feel compelled to bring the issue of potential discrimination to your attention. This letter serves as a formal request for your intervention in this matter. I am urging a thorough investigation into the potential violation of 15 U.S. Code 6802. Additionally, I request confirmation as to whether XXXX XXXX has complied with the statutory provisions. If a violation is determined, I kindly request that XXXX XXXX ceases and desists from reporting any further negative information on my credit reports. Given the urgency of this matter, I would appreciate your prompt attention. Furthermore, I insist on a thorough examination of the potential discrimination issues arising from the consistent misuse of my credit report during the investigation. I am submitting this complaint electronically for your records. Please acknowledge receipt at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I look forward to your assistance in resolving these concerns. Sincerely,

Consumer Complaint: Experian slow-walks updates purposely. I contacted XXXX on or about XX/XX/XXXX to manually update my accounts to a {$0.00} balance as they were paid immediately after the reporting cycle ended AND I am in the process of purchasing a house ( lender requirements ) so all accounts need to be accurate to maintain a suitable credit score. On XX/XX/ XXXX submitted update requests to XXXX, XXXX, and Experian. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX and XXXX updated the accounts as requested however as of XX/XX/XXXX XXXX has refused to update the accounts. Additionally, on XX/XX/XXXX Experian updated the alerts section of my credit report to reflect that XXXX reported the balance as such on XX/XX/XXXX - this is typical of Experian when balance disputes are lodged ; they do not investigate rather they simply restate what is already contained in the report from a historical position which is not the legal requirement when a dispute is lodged. I have seen this trend occur with disputes from Experian over the past three years.
