Consumer Complaint: I bought a house with someone I was not married to, but in a relationship with. We are both on the mortgage. We also remodeled while residing in the house together so there is also a HELOC which we are both on. I am no longer in a relationship with this person, but they signed a notarized legal contract drawn up by a lawyer stating that that the other party is responsible for these debts, and that I am to be held harmless for these debts until they can be refinanced. These accounts should be stricken from my credit report and not affect my debt to income ratio or % of late accounts. If given the opportunity, I will attach an electronic copy of the signed, notarized agreement.
