Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2024, after a request was made to a creditor XXXX XXXX to manually update my credit report, EQUIFAX updated an account to show a {$0.00} balance, per the creditor request. This was an accurate accounting of the creditor account. On XX/XX/2024 EQUIFAX then reported the account was back at the balance previously reported on XX/XX/2024 when the 30-day cycle runs for credit reporting. I spoke with the creditor and they never made this request, and reconfirmed that the last request they sent to EQUIFAX was for the XX/XX/2024 update to a {$0.00} balance. I am trying to purchase a house and any inaccuracies present an issue to any approval from my lender as well as my credit score. It appears a dispute was also investigated related to this account where Equifax reports that the creditor stated the account balance was at XXXX as of XX/XX/2024. But that would be impossible as EQUIFAX updated the balance correctly on XX/XX/XXXX to {$0.00}, after a manual request was sent to them by XXXX, but then EQUIFAX changed that balance to what was reported previously, which was incorrect and inaccurate. This is an ongoing concern where EQUIFAX does not investigate disputes and rather uses the last date of reporting to certify they have investigated the matter. I have evidence and documentation proving this even recently where they said they conducted an investigation into unauthorized inquiries that continue to be on my credit report, but sent me correspondence that stated they could not find the inquiries on my report ; yet they were clearly there.
