Consumer Complaint: Midland Credit Management started reporting on all my reports XX/XX/2022. They are currently reporting on all XXXX national reporting agencies. They do not have the authority to collect anything from me. Per the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, they are not licensed in the state of Illinois to collect anything as they do not have an active license for Illinois. This has been reporting for over a year negatively affecting my credit profile and making it hard to purchase a home. They have no legal grounds to collect anything from me, furthermore when I requested them to validate the debt was mine, they could not. I would like this collection removed from every single reporting agency and updated ASAP. Please see the screenshot showing they do not have authority to collect in IL. This is COMPLETELY INACCURATE, AND FALSE because I have NEVER paid this company or this account, nor have I EVER had ANY, scheduled payment arrangements with this company, which would mean there is no way possible for this account to be a PAID COLLECTION. This is Willful Negligence and it is a FCRA Violation for a debt collector to use any false representation or deceptive means to collect or attempt to collect any debt. Consumer Complaint: I have an issue with one of the collection agencies ( Midland Credit Management- XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on my credit report. This is exactly how the conversation went, and I do not think this is right and fair. -I had a {$1500.00} balance on my account. -I called to set up an arrangement to pay over {$1000.00}. -The collection agency confirmed that over {$1000.00} was paid. -I disputed the account because the account was supposed to be settled and closed -The collection agency refused to close the account. -I called the collection agency and they said that they want to negotiate a new settlement since I disputed them after over {$1000.00} was paid from me -I told them that is not right. This account was supposed to be closed -The collection agency responded with this exact statement " We are not obligated to offer you any discounted settlements. You either have to pay us or the account will remain open. ''

I told her that I had never contracted with them and that I do not owe them anything. I asked that she and her company cease and desist all communication about this alleged debt. I then received a package by XXXX a few days later. Upon me checking on my credit report on XX/XX/XXXX, I notice that they were reporting this alleged debt to the Credit Reporting Companies as well which is a violation under the FDCPA.
