Consumer Complaint: Midland Credit Management sued me while I was in good standing with a settlement agreement through XXXX XXXX XXXX on the first of three accounts held. All three accounts are from defaulted credit card debts. They continue to report the collection balances higher but as stated they sued me on the second account they held while I was making monthly payments on the first account. They are the only collection on my credit report & have also put a lien on my Fed tax return. I just couldnt afford to pay on all three accounts simultaneously but was in good standing on the first account when they sued me.. They sued me for {$1700.00} on an original default of {$600.00} credit limit. I settled the first account they held ( synchrony bank ) and paid it off a couple months early in good faith, prior to realizing that they sued me. In total they received {$2500.00} on the first account & dont deserve a penny more due to their unethical practices. I wouldve negotiated on the other accounts if they hadnt been so impatient & wanted me to pay on all accounts simultaneously.

Under 15 USC 1666B a creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan as late, for any purpose.
