Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to work with Discover card to get my interest on my credit card down. I had been on a plan from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. They wouldn't do another plan until I hadn't been on one for 1 year. I tried working with them and they would only lower my interest down to 12 % which is only good for a year and then it will go back up. They told me that If I wanted to go to a credit counseling service and get a plan with them they would honor it. I don't want to do that. If they are willing to accept a lower interest with them why not just give me the 6 % interest the lady spoke about when referring to the credit counseling. I want a flat rate interest that is low. I dont ' want to use the card. XXXX XXXX XXXX gave me 2.9 % on their card.

Consumer Complaint: I have redlined areas in the attached XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX correspondence from Discover. In the XX/XX/XXXX letter, Discover advised you were advised concerning your requests for call transcripts and bank account information from your XX/XX/XXXX, CFPB correspondence, that we will not be providing this requested information. This protects Discover to make the following statements below. Also in the letter, Discover claims the returned payments to be valid. This is a false statement. They were not valid payments since I did not approve nor make payments. In the XX/XX/XXXX letter, Discover claims due to your financial institution advising they were unable to locate the bank account ending XXXX. These are also false statements. This was not my financial institution. Discover is making false statements in line with their refusal to supply the bank account information and transcripts.

Consumer Complaint: On Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX I received an email from Discover stating the following : XXXX, weve selected you as a valued Discover Cardmember with a responsible credit history. You have an opportunity to apply for a fixed-rate Discover personal loan to consolidate your higher-rate debt.1 Simply get started online before XX/XX/XXXX. I was hesitant to apply simply because I've been working strenuously to fix my credit score over the past few years. After a few days, I decided to go ahead and try it as I thought this would help me better manage my funds. I applied on Monday XX/XX/XXXX. I was told via the online application system this would not impact my credit score to just take a look, so I applied. I was told online that I was approved and simply needed to send proof of income to get the process started ( which didn't quite make sense since I already started the process [ so I thought ] ). After furnishing proof of income ( well above their qualifying limit listed ), I was forced to call an agent to " finish the process '' - which I did. That agent also said I was approved and all they had left to do was verify my income. After two days and a hard inquiry to my credit, I have now been denied for the debt consolidation loan they said I was approved for. I would not have even considered this if I wasn't already a Discover customer and if I was not told ( multiple times ) that I was approved. It was not " pre approved '', they said approved. This is the definition of predatory lending.

Consumer Complaint: See attached. My Discover Card was stolen in 2017. The card was used and then fraudulent payments were made to exceed credit limit. Discover refuses to send transcripts of phone calls and the method of payments used by the crooks. With these items, I can prove that the calls were not me and the accounts used to make payments were not mine. This would also assist me to prosecute the crook. But Discover refuses to send this information and continues to deny fraud and identity theft. And Discover simply states " without new and different information we may not respond to future correspondence. '' Attached is an affidavit that Discover can review and disprove. The affidavit is clear but if the affidavit is not satisfactory to Discover ; I will send whatever they want.
