Who you talk to you get no real response an always ends up talking to supervisor will get back to you. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 an ACH from Discover Co was placed against my XXXX XXXX account. The charge was in the amount of {$6300.00} and caused my account to be overdrawn by more than {$4000.00}. I contacted XXXX, but because the amount was too large, they could not credit my account while the fraud investigation was initiated ... which could take many days. I contacted Discover Co with the transaction number, amount and my account, but they refused to help me because I do not hold an account with them. I'd like to file a complaint against Discover as they are literally stealing money out of my account with a fraudulent charge and will not reverse the charge. I will suffer extensive financial harm as this fraudulent charge took place the day before XXXX and any resolution will take many days to resolve with XXXX. This means that my car payment, rent, insurance and other charges will be declined and I will be liable for late fees and credit issues. In a sophisticated digital banking environment, there should be no way that this type of damage can inflicted on a checking customer without recourse. I am completely helpless against this theft that Discover has facilitated.

Consumer Complaint: I have been using my Discover card for the last 19 years and have a continuously high interest rate of 29.99 %. I consistently pay my bills, at times I have had the card completely paid off and at random times Discover will issue me a higher credit limit amount without me asking or wanting. On XX/XX/2020 I called and asked for a lower interest rate. During my call, I was bounced around to several " departments '' I was finally able to speak with someone in the Card Member Assistance department. The gentleman agreed that my rate was too high and issued me an interest credit refund of {$1100.00}. He then told me that my interest rate would be lowerd to a percentage over the prime rate. I tried calling Discover back in XXXX because the rate wasn't lowered and didn't get anywhere.The girl on the phone was not helpfu so I hung up. I just tried calling again today, XX/XX/2020 and was told the ONLY way to reduce my interest rate is to suspend my card for 6 months and then it will be up to Discover if they want to " re-instate me '' at the going rate at that future time. To me this is slap in the face. I have been an outstanding long term consumer who uses my Discover Card for the ease of it being accepted everywhere. In order to be " considered '' for a lower rate I have to suspend my card?! Why? Discover is refusing to give me a lower rate even though my credit history with them has been near excellent in the 19 years I've had my card. Also, Discover has just issued me another credit increase. My new credit limit is {$22000.00}. Of which I am using {$6700.00}. I did not ask for this increase and now I am showing too much available credit on my credit report and I can not cancel my card due to it being the longest credit link I have on my credit history. If I cancel my credit card with them it will adversely impact my credit rating. I am at a loss at what I can do and Discover Card is not being helpful!

Consumer Complaint: On Friday XX/XX/XXXX, there were five charges to my Discover card ending in XXXX for {$84.00} each and one charge for {$44.00} totaling just short of {$500.00}. I've had issues previously with younger siblings using my card to buy online content without my consent, so I froze my account. The only time a transaction is supposed to be authorized is if it's a recurring subscription, or, I manually log into my bank and unfreeze it. I contacted Discover, disputed the charges, and was issued a temporary refund that was however reversed when the bank took the side of the merchant since the merchant stating that the charges were valid. The charges were never supposed to be authorized in the first place, that's the reason I froze my account in the first place. Discover informed me that XXXX originally marked the charges as one time normal charges, which they were, but because my account was locked, discover denied the charges, so XXXX fraudulently issued a charge back, a second time, but this time, marking them as recurring subscriptions. I don't have 5 subscriptions from XXXX for {$84.00} each and 1 for {$44.00}. So why would they charge it as a subscription? That's fictitious and highly fraudulent. I tried contacting XXXX for a refund and explaining the situation but they wouldn't even budge, who in their right mind spends {$500.00} on in game purchases, especially in the midst of a pandemic where they can barely even afford to do so because they're out of work.

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, I recently was sent a pre approval link from discover I went to it and signed up. On the link it said pre approval will not run a hard pull without me giving consent. This was all done XX/XX/2020. Now on XX/XX/2020 it is showing a hard pull and decreasing my XXXX score like crazy. I called Discover twice on XX/XX/2020 both customer service reps agreed with what I was saying. They told me best to contact XXXX so they can remove it. I than called XXXX waited on hold and kept talking to robots and not a live person. I was than recommended to come here so that you guys can help solve and fix this problem since it is in accurate and not authorized by me. I want this off my credit report with anyone discover ran my score through. In there own tape recorded conversations they had stated all I had to do was contact XXXX and show picture proof if i couldn't get them on the phone. I have picture proof which i will attach of discover saying pre approved, the inquiry being place and the credit drop it created.

Consumer Complaint: LEGAL PROCESS ON COLLECTIONS The Discover Card that shows on my credit bureaus has never belonged to me, I demand full documentation as I have always had excellent credit history, and suddenly I have a charge show up on my credit for nearly {$8000.00}. This is a phantom dent that simply has no connection to me. This account needs to be deleted permanently!!! I state on record with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that any transfer of debt ownership without proper true copy originality to prove ownership transfer, is hereby deemed a PHAMTOM DEBT. Any issuance of a collection against my personal history is therefore illegal where there is no standing in the jurisdictional courts of my domicile. Many illegal collection actions have been brought against collection agencies by the United States of America on behalf of the Federal Trade Commission. The Commission is an independent agency of the United States government given statutory authority and responsibility by the FTC Act, 15 U.S.C. 41-58. The Commission is charged, inter alia, with enforcing Section 5 ( a ) of the FTC Act, 15 U.S.C. 45 ( a ), which prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce ; the FDCPA, 15 U.S.C., 1692-1692p, which imposes duties upon debt collectors ; and the FCRA, 15, U.S.C. 1681-1681x, which imposes duties upon consumer reporting agencies and those who furnish information to a consumer reporting agency or use information obtained from a consumer reporting agency. Please be advised that I have a serious disagreement with information that remains on my personal credit profile, and most this dispute comes from the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, otherwise known as Public Law 109-351 ( FDCPA 15 U.S.C. Sections 1692 ). Pursuant to my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I request all the following items be forwarded to me within ten business days from your receipt of this dispute letter : I request a copy of any signed document of service pertaining to the above referenced debt service in which the obligation occurred. I request notice of where any original signed contract or service agreement is located, of the person or persons responsible for the maintenance of any or all original documents, the contact phone numbers of said person ( s ), and the proper time of day during the week in which these individual ( s ) can be contacted. Any false representations or deceptions pertaining to the validation process as mandated by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) and all federal and state court decisions applicable to the enforcement of the FDCPA will be reported to the Attorney Generals Office of my home state. Pursuant to Section 809 of the FDCPA, I request a copy of any 30-day notice of debt that must be sent to an alleged debtor to validate a debt. Only notices sent by certified mail will be accepted for a Mini-Miranda notice of debt service or an attempt to collect a debt. Notification by regular mail delivery of an alleged debt can be successfully disputed in any state court as verification of service is mandatory. I request copies of any license or bonding that may be applicable to the above referenced ( creditor, servicer or collection agency ) to operate within the state I reside to procure debts of any nature. The Federal legal definition of the term debt means any obligation or alleged obligation of a consumer to pay money arising out of a transaction in which the money, property, insurance or services which are the subject of a transaction are primarily for personal, family, or household purposes, whether such obligation has been reduced to judgment. However, all states have their own laws pertaining not only to what construes a debt and have very stringent guidelines as to how such debts were procured in original form, how they were assigned to either a servicer, another business or collection agency, or if such an assignment was handed to a properly licensed and/or bonded establishment under requirements of the General Law of said state. I therefore dispute the posted collection and demand full true copy originality of ownership or assignment of collection responsibility. If validation is not connected, then the collection must be removed permanently. All FTC guidelines will be applied in my validation dispute. Consumer Complaint: My HELOC with Discover Home Loans ( Loan # XXXX ) was on a deferment from XXXX - XX/XX/2020. I called servicer in XXXX to discuss repayment options. I was offered and verbally accepted a payment deferral ( letter attached ). I was to resume making my regular payment on XX/XX/XXXX, which i did ( made the payment the XXXX of XXXX XXXX. However, I was reported late on my credit reports and am being assessed late fees. This is causing undue hardship as I am attempting to get a car for my commute to work. I have called the lender multiple times to address this issue, each representative i speak to has acknowledged that they need to fix my account and have escalated to the appropriate parties. Each time I call, nothing has been done to remediate this and the request has been sitting there for multiple weeks
