Consumer Complaint: I was notified that my account was paid off and as a result closed the account. Discover card then contacted me and told me the account wasn't paid off and that they would not reopen the card but continue to charge me the balance until after it was paid. XXXX was notified and sent the charge through and then reverse the charge after I was told that it was handled correctly. I received bank statements today after being locked out of my account for months and reporting my username and password as stolen

Consumer Complaint: Company Stated It Would Be Best To Close My Account After Paying My Debt That Ive Had With Them. While I Also Had The Full Balance In My Bank Account To Pay Them They Told Me Since I Have The Option To Settle The Debt For Less That Its Best That I Also Just Settle It With Them. Two Things Happened Which Are Harming Me From Obtaining Fair Future Credit With An Auto Lender, The Account Showing Up On My Credit Report Being Closed, And Also Showing That It Was Settled For Less. Its Giving Me Troubles Trying To Obtain New Credit For An Auto Loan. The Bank Discover Is Also Refusing To Accept The Remaining Balance That Made The Account Settled For Less They Tricked Me And Its Harming My Future. This Is Extremely Unfair Credit Reporting. I Was Jobless At The Time Which Is What Caused My Credit To Not Be Up To Date And Paid Correctly, But When I Received The Funds The Bank Told Me To Pay Less Instead. I Just Want My Life In Order And They Made It Worse Instead, If I Could Find A Fix Or To Delete This Account Permanently Off My Credit Report This Would Be Great. Please This Is Extremely Unfair

Consumer Complaint: Discover Card Checking account was given orders to pay automatically every month on XXXX day {$500.00} towards loan to XXXX XXXX for the car purchased in XXXX. Loan expiration date ( without interest charged ) was XX/XX/XXXX. Last payment on the loan was made on XX/XX/XXXX. At the end of XX/XX/XXXX XXXX mailed us a title deed for the car since the loan had been paid in full. In XXXX after paying the last {$500.00} payment I have cancelled that payee. In XXXX no payment was made but in XXXX suddenly the payee- XXXX XXXX appeared again and the payment was made on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX returned the payment on XX/XX/XXXX. I called Discover and asked why that payment was made and why the payee - XXXX XXXX was restored. Person who talked to me indicated to me that he would call me on my cellular phone but instead of calling me on that phone he closed the line. I deleted that payee yet again. Then my husband on XX/XX/XXXX received e-mail informing him that our Discover account had Not sufficient funds. When I went to see the account I found out that on XX/XX/XXXX payment was made again to XXXX XXXX which caused the depletion of our funds in that account. The following day funds were returned. Today, XX/XX/XXXX I and my husband called Discover and went through four people : XXXX from XXXX, XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX from Arizona again and the last lady 's name I did not record. She put me on hold for more than half an hour claiming that my identification was blocked and then fraudulently claimed that it was XXXX XXXX who demanded the restoration of the payment. Title deed was issued on XX/XX/XXXX and copy is attached as well as the last XXXX statement from XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2022, I sent a wire transfer of {$18000.00} to Discover Bank from XXXX XXXX XXXX Bank. The wire was denied due to my married name not being updated on my Discover account. Discover Bank then sent it back on XX/XX/2022. Unfortunately there is no accurate documentation to confirm that transaction was made. XXXX XXXX XXXX has attempted multiple times this week to get in touch with Discover Bank, but the wire department is not responding to XXXX XXXX. I was also told I would receive a generated form that provided information regarding confirmation and tracking information for the return, but have not received that information either. The Customer Service line has been wonderful in attempting to assist with me this issue, however, Discover Banks Executive Office has been refusing to respond to me personally to emails and return phone calls with voicemails left with them in order to get updates on this investigation. It has been 9 days since I have heard from Discovers investigation team. Communication from Discover Banks Executive team and wiring department have been making this situation seem there is fraudulent activity going on and they are withholding my funds. This issue has been escalated so far, I have had to pursue legal action against Discover Bank. I am frustrated and emotionally distraught because of this situation. It has been a MONTH since Discover supposedly sent the funds back, but can not provide accurate information regarding this.

Consumer Complaint: In my past credit card statement I found some transactions I did not recognize so I reported those charges as fraudulent to Discover in XX/XX/2021. The disputed amount totaled to {$1000.00}. Discover took 3 months doing nothing and concluded that those charges on my statement are valid. I have not received any goods or services delivered to my home for those amounts charges. No reasons or explanation from Discover why those charges were valid. It is absolutely unacceptable to be responsible for those charges with no goods or services received. Discover advertises " zero liability fraud protection '' but it is all lie and they will ignore their customers. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: multiple ( certified ) letters sent to company to verify this supposed debt per FCRA which is showing on my consumer credit reports. Discover has sent multiple invalid responses to my requested information per sections 609 and 611 of the FCRA. Company instead sent information on the opening of an account, a card sent, and sent statements. and in their words " considered '' this account valid. another certified letter was sent ( and received by Discover ) on XX/XX/21 asking for proper validation again including a copy of the supposed signed contract and the " other identifying information '' which they stated on their last validation letter. In addition, reminding them that I never gave consent ( per 15 U.S. Code 1681b ( 2 ) to furnish any of my personal information to anyone. This letter has not been responded to as of yet and information is still showing on my credit report

Consumer Complaint: These following accounts of DISCOVERBANK with account numbers XXXX and XXXX appears to be a charge-off account with a specific balances. The information itself is already an error because a charge-off account should have NO balance. Another thing is that the account was reported twice in XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX. As per FCRA, the bureaus and the furnisher are to provide 100 % accuracy and they are required to give responses and supply documents to confirm the account.
