Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I was contacted by rep from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in response to online inquiry for cross country moving services. I was given a quote and went over details with rep as to dates and what was to be moved. I called back later to finalize and make the first of three installments ; a customer payment is what was told to me and labeled on contract of the amount of {$570.00}. I made this payment by what I assumed would be a direct debit. XX/XX/XXXX I became aware that the company or rep I was dealing where not following threw with legitimacy of this move and or providing me reinsurance of dates contracted. A unamended driver and company called me on XX/XX/XXXX requesting different forms of payments for other two installments. On XX/XX/XXXX I wasn't able to get ahold of moving Rep I previously spoke with so I called Discover bank to report this. I then became aware that the payment came out of my account as a drafted check that had an image and wrong address printed on it. I raised my concern of this with discover bank rep on this call and promptly had them fully change my account numbers. I continued trying to get ahold of the withdrawing company of XXXX XXXX XXXX to address refund cancel accuracy of their company with no prevail and blockage of me being able to message them. From XXXX I called discover bank back several times to explain all circumstances. I asked for a charge back or help in reversing this illegitimate non receipt of service charge and every time and step of the way have without full explanation by them been told by discover bank that they can't do anything to refund me.

Consumer Complaint: I have worked for 7 years to rebuild my credit after Chapter XXXX in XXXX. Discover without written notice decreased the Credit Limits on all 3 of my cards which raised my utilization from 30 % to 90 %. I have paid more than the minimum and sometimes make 2 payments. This in turn caused a snowball effect on my XXXX XXXX which was reduced from XXXX to XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX which I have had for several years from 3000 to 1500. So, Discover has basically negatively affected my credit which caused other issuers to follow suit. I had extra expenses during the holidays and I have been paying these down, considerably. It took forever to bring up my credit to only have it shot down in less than 2 months to where I was 7 years ago. Nothing in the mail. I called Discover and explained the negative effect this would have on car loans, refinancing, and everything else... They did not care. They did not care I paid on time and sometimes more than the minimum. Now my utilization has gone up on several of my cards and my credit that I worked so hard for and continued to pay during COVID is ruined by their decision and lowering limits without prior notice on a whim and ruining my score which I worked so hard on for so many years. XXXX XXXX seeing that Discover did this followed suit. I am very upset these banks are not regulated to prevent this from happening and intentionally ruininging an individuals credit with all 3 bureaus.

Consumer Complaint: Tracking pixel All emails from this company contain tracking pixels. Also known as web beacons, theses secretive codes are embedded in all service emails and are designed to collect IP address, device and browser details, etc. Unlike cookies, there is no request for customers ' consent, and prior privacy disclosure is ineffective as per all privacy laws. After years of reports to the customer service, domain registrant, admin, tech and abuse departments, no one bothered to even respond with reasons and optout options. After complaints via public boards, only things I heard are PR statements such as reference to privacy statements and ultimatum about unwillingness to remove secretive trackers.

So it comes very disarming when my account with a XXXX XXXX credit limit, is then dropped by the exact amount that I paid off XXXX. After speaking with other homeowners and professionals in my urban area as well as zip code, it has become apparent that this the new norm for them. By them doing this they are effectively damaging my credit by changing my DTI ratio.

I may be due for a refund for previous private students loans with XXXX or XXXX. *Please note this complaint is about a loan that was once a XXXX XXXX that was sold to Discover ( this was out of my control ). I was an employee for XXXX and opted for the private student loan option. Once sold to Discover it seems the interest went much higher and terms changed. * Discover private student loans will not work with me to lower/defer my payments on my private loan after trying to work with them. My loan was in deferment/forbearance for a while due to extenuating circumstances with regard to completing a XXXX and now I am in the process of getting XXXX. The original balance of the loan was approx. XXXX and now it is approx.110K due to the high-interest fixed rate. Due to this, the payments are XXXX per month which I can not afford. I have tried many times to contact and work with them to find a solution but they tell me there is nothing they can do. Now, I risk possible default due to not being able to pay the monthly amount.

Consumer Complaint: Discover Bank, you are in many violations and I am demanding you Discover Bank to correct all of your errors on my consumer reports right now. CFPB, FTC investigate this matter. I blame the Credit Reporting Agencies XXXX for never doing their job properly because I disputed this account and XXXX said it was valid. So I blame yall XXXX XXXX, so please do not act XXXX when I invoice yall for violations. First off, Listen hear Discover, you are furnishing MY private information and I have the right to privacy, Im not sure if you are aware that is a {$5000.00} fine, I did not give you permission to furnish my private information on my behalf. 2nd, I am putting you on notice in regards to the charge off and DISCOVER BANK should know what the IRS says about a cancellation of debt of 600 or more and I am demanding DISCOVER BANK to send my 1099c, which you should have received when the debt was charged off. Also I will have to contact the IRS on them. A charge off is gross income and doesnt get reported. As of dated XX/XX/2022 at the time of XXXX XXXX, is reporting a Charge Off to ALL credit reporting agencies on my behalf with a balance of {$1200.00}. I have never received a 1099c form from DISCOVER BANK. There are various violations this company DISCOVER BANK are in 12 CFR 226.11 - Treatment of credit balances ; account termination. a ) Credit balances. When a credit balance in excess of {$1.00} is created on a credit account ( through transmittal of funds to a creditor in excess of the total balance due on an account, through rebates of unearned finance charges or insurance premiums, or through amounts otherwise owed to or held for the benefit of the consumer ), the creditor shall - ( 1 ) Credit the amount of the credit balance to the consumer 's account ; ( 2 ) Refund any part of the remaining credit balance within seven business days from receipt of a written request from the consumer ; ( 3 ) Make a good faith effort to refund to the consumer by cash, check, or money order, or credit to a deposit account of the consumer, any part of the credit balance remaining in the account for more than six months. No further action is required if the consumer 's current location is not known to the creditor and can not be traced through the consumer 's last known address or telephone number. The executive from Discover, XXXX, told me I can NOT reopen my account, when I asked to reopen my account, hes very rude, and Discover Bank is doing unfair business. I just CLEARY explained everything in a very basic and understandable term.
