Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Discover Bank, on XXXX closed my checking account. This was during a call I made to them inquiring why the deposit for a cashier 's cheque of XXXX that XXXX XXXX XXXX gave to me was rejected. BoA then gave me XXXX cashier 's checks of XXXX and XXXX for the funds I had in my account with them. I deposited the first check of XXXX in my Discover bank on XXXX and rejected the second check of XXXX and stated it was altered on XXXX. Discover Bank told me they have decided to close my account for " business reasons '' and will be sending me a check for my balance after 60days even though they refuse to give me the reasons for this business decision. I believe their decision was unfair to me because I have not been inform what I did wrong, I was also not notified, alerted, warned or queried of any inappropriate action on my part nor given any opportunity to respond or otherwise before and after the decision was taken I am just migrating to the United States from XXXX and do not have any other source of income apart from my savings which Discover bank have hijacked. I need these funds to pay for my bills, rent and food.

Consumer Complaint: Discover bank is doing fraud with me, they have nothing else to do, I filed a dispute of {$33.00} which was done with the merchant " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX '', first discover gave me a credit and later after many days sent me an email stating they are reapplying the credit as they need to do further investigation. ( please see attached files, it seems discover ultimately charged me the money ) They first gave me a credit and then doing a debit now and if the investigation will be found in my favor will again give me a credit, why they have to go through all this when they can just give me a final credit after all the investigation is complete. this whole process is just to make the customer confused and do fraud with the customer.

Consumer Complaint: On approximately XX/XX/2022, I contacted XXXX to purchase an engine for {$3700.00}. I was told that the engine was available and once the payment was completed, I would be emailed a tracking number within 24 hours and the engine shipped. After not receiving the tracking number I called XXXX and was informed that they didn't have the engine and it would not be available until XXXX. After being informed of this I asked for an immediate refund being that the salesperson said she verified the engine was available and ready to ship within 24 hours. I then contacted Discover and initiated a dispute for fraud because the merchant told me that they had the engine ready to be shipped and the salesperson verified it to be ready and available. I tried to initiate a dispute at this time but was told that I could not dispute this at this time and had to give the merchant 10 days to return the money to my account. After 12 days I called into dispute the transaction and them aware the credit from XXXX still was not available or returned to me, so then the dispute was filed by Discover. During this time I was not able to view or verify my other transactions. After filing the dispute I called Discover and made them aware that my bill was incorrect and there were some discrepancies ( items that were charged missing ) on my bill. I was told that the bill was correct and that amount it showed was correct ( owe {$4.00} ). After a few days, the bill changed again ( owe {$590.00} ) After the disputes and the changing of the bill, there are some charges on my bill that I do not recognize. I have tried calling some of the merchants to verify if the charges are actually mine.

Consumer Complaint: Thank you for taking the time to read this. Upon review of my XXXX, XXXX and XXXX credit files I noted XXXX payments that are reported as late. I have disputed the late payments already XXXX times and I am sincerely hoping someone there can take a closer look at my file. The payments were, in fact, missed, but prior to me missing the payments, I called every month I was unable to pay and was unable to get through to your company ( XX/XX/2020, XXXX, 2020, and XX/XX/2020 ). I was affected by COVID and tried to get a deferment and couldn't get through and therefore accounts ended up being late. I am hoping you can make the necessary adjustment under the CARES Act.
