Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: I disputed the account and ask that they validate this account, and they fail to respond to the action. The law states they have 30 days to do so if not or over the 30 days this account must be removed from the credit file and in this case, they fail to respond to the matter. It has been over 30 days with no response, and I did not open or authorize this account, and I therefore request that it be closed immediately. By the federal law requirement this account must be removed because you do not have proof or any evidence to support this matter and failure to respond.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Sent card you never applied for
Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from Discover bank stating that i owed {$5200.00} for this credit card on XX/XX/2022. I never applied for or received a credit card from this bank. I have received credit reports from XXXX, XXXX and XXXX and have disputed this information with them as well and they have come back to me stating it has been verified as belonging to me. I wrote a letter demanding that they show me an application that bears my signature. I did not receive anything other than a generic response stating : at that time were provided with a name and address and other identifying information. This account is not mine. I did not apply for credit with this bank and i have received a XXXX form for this debt. I will not be responsible for this account and i want it removed from my credit reports.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: Issue : Paid the total amount of the loan, but Discover Student Loans isnt current on their records and still trying to charge me. On XX/XX/2022, I refinanced my existing Discover Student Loans with XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX dispersed XXXX checks on XX/XX/XXXX to my Discover Student Loans ( Account # XXXX XXXX and XXXX ) ( Loan # XXXX Account XXXX = Loan XXXX, Loan XXXX, Loan XXXX, Loan XXXX, Loan XXXX ) ( Loan # Account XXXX = XXXX ) which were processed to my account on XX/XX/2022. However, Discover only allocated {$2100.00} to my XXXX, even though the check was for {$14000.00}. They are now requesting payment on XXXX XXXX for {$130.00}, still charging interest, and said it's due XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted them via chat on Tuesday XXXX of XXXX regarding this issue as they are clearly inaccurate on their records and they were rude and told me that the check was only for {$2100.00} and I could contact them via phone if I wish to speak to someone on the phone. I confirmed with XXXX and received the check numbers for the transactions that it was in fact for {$14000.00}, and received the check numbers. On Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Discover again via phone and they said again that the check in their system was for {$2100.00} - but they will confirm and resolve the situation by Tuesday of this week. It should not take a week to resolve a very serious issue, and they shouldn't be requesting payment for something that is their error. The second customer service person from Discover was friendly, but I did not like the solution he suggested. XXXX bank has been nothing but fabulous throughout the entire process, always keeping me updated with top customer service.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I have ( ( had now I suppose ) a credit limit of {$4000.00}. I checked my accounts today as I typical do ever month or two and I noticed that Discover had closed my account. This strongly effects my credit score. I intentionally made sure I was paid up and even had my account frozen for security purposes. Im extremely disappointed as to how Im being treated as a consumer and find it absolutely ridiculous that they decided to close my account without any warning whatsoever. Please advise. Thank you very much. XXXX XXXX
