Consumer Complaint: I have been going through a very complex child custody battle since XX/XX/20. Opposing party and I were NEVER married, never lived together, resided in two different states. Never shared or conjoined any bank accounts, NOTHING. I raised my daughter for 10 yrs.and I never received ANYTHING FROM OPPOSING PARTY. His attorney issued a subpoena to my Discover Credit Cards Co. demanding they produce all my personal and private information ( attached ). Discover is claiming they will comply with request if I dont produce a court order saying otherwise. However, the subpoena is NOT court ordered, it is NOT signed by a judge, merely a request. I reached out to Discover and made it very clear that I DO AUTHORIZE THE RELEASE OF ANY OF MY PERSONAL AND PRIVATE INFORMATION.

Consumer Complaint: I had spoken with Discover Bank Credit on XX/XX/2022 as I was notified that an inquiry was done in my name for a credit card on XX/XX/2022 ( I called because I did not make this inquiry and wanted it removed from my credit report ). The banker informed me that there was no inquiry in my name and that I had nothing to worry about. On XX/XX/2022 I received a credit card from Discover bank that I did not apply for.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem accessing account
Consumer Complaint: I opened a Discover Bank saving account on XX/XX/XXXX and transferred {$15000.00} from my XXXX XXXX to the account, and then they suspended my account ~20 mins later! My {$15000.00} got transferred to that account and can not be accessed. My most recent paycheck of a few thousands of dollars also went to that account. Now there are more than {$20000.00} in the account and couldn't be accessed. Tens of thousands of dollars are now seized by Discover bank without allowing me to use, which looks like a blatant robbery. I called them many times with the phone number they provided in the account suspension email and they always transferred me to the security team that never answered my phone even after hours ( and they always hang my call after ~2 hours ). I began to wonder if the security team actually exists. This is a huge amount of money that is locked in the account, and Discover does not provide a way for me to reactivate my account. I have been struggling with my life since the beginning of COVID. I have been working harder to earn a living for my family. With the loss of so much money our life becomes even harder. I am writing this complain to ask Discover bank to contact me and get my account reactivated, in a timely manner because I need to use the money for my daily life.

Consumer Complaint: Discover froze my bank accounts and is holding my money ( and many other customers ' money ), based on " unusual activity '', and I can not connect with anyone at Discover to unfreeze my accounts ( it's been over 22 days as of this complaint ). I opened new bank accounts on XX/XX/XXXX, and deposited money ( over $ XXXX ) in them on XX/XX/XXXX. I was notified by Discover on XX/XX/XXXX ( via email and via a voicemail ) that my accounts had been frozen due to " unusual activity '', and that I needed to call XXXX to speak with a bank security specialist. Note that I have absolutely no online access to my accounts, and Discover is forcing me to call them to unfreeze my accounts. No one who I have spoken with can tell me why my accounts are frozen. I called Discover back on XX/XX/XXXX and subsequently every day since to speak with one of their bank security team members. The hold times are usually 2-3+ hours. Half the time, their phone system provides a message about high call volume and then just disconnects. Furthermore, I was able to get through two times to the bank security team, only to be told that their hours are XXXX XXXX, and that they were not available to help me, and that I would need to call back during those hours ; Discover advertises 24/7 customer support. I've placed over 50 calls in the past 22 days. I have spoken to a number of Discover customer service professionals, but they can not unfreeze my account and tell me that I must speak with the bank security team. They will only transfer me and put me in the 2-3+ hour holding queue. Furthermore, they do not have a single human at this point who can tell me what my account balances are I've tried to get help via XXXX, XXXX and XXXX, but Discover either continues to post the same reply about calling the number listed above, or in some cases doesn't respond at all. Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: I used my credit card as defined under 15 USC 1602 ( a ) ( I ) to extend myself credit through Discover. To my surprise, I was denied. On XX/XX/2022 I received a letter of clear adverse action from Discover attempting to explain why I was denied. Due to there being no statute of limitations on fraud I am acting now. The letter that was sent mentions that Discover follows the Federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act, but this denial was clearly an act of discrimination pursuant to 15 USC 1691 ( a ) ( 3 ). In good faith, I exercised my right to extend credit as a consumer, AND a creditor and I was denied for no specific reason. Discover mentions Federal laws in the letter sent to me, but violated those very same laws. Discover also violated 15 USC 1602 ( a ) ( p ) when they used my credit card with no apparent authority, and I the cardholder and consumer received absolutely no benefit.

Consumer Complaint: Discover is reporting a debt on my XXXX report as being owed. This is inaccurate. I do not have a signed contract with this company nor an agreement stating I owe this account or company. I have now submitted disputes to all the bureaus accounts for them to validate this debt on my report and to provide the written and signed contracts reporting the debt. This company is violating FCRA consumer laws by reporting inaccurate information and I am requesting that this account be removed from my credit file immediately. All this is causing me so much emotional stress and I will move forward with legal action if not. Thank you.
